Did I miss something or did Nexus just become obsolete mere weeks after being implemented? It looks like the new poetics gear has a weathered/upgraded equivalent and both are higher ilvl than Nexus is. Please tell me I missed something here. A lot of work has gone into obtaining relic Nexus weapons through the quest line and for there to be no update on them in this patch, and to have been overshadowed so quickly by new gear is disappointing.

One thing that bothers me:

Sneak Attack is boosted in front of the enemy and Trick Attack is boosted behind the enemy...that's a bit mixed up :x but I guess it won't transfer enmity either though.

Welcome to standard MMO horizontal progression.

Please tell me how Nexus is obsolete with 2.4 coming out? The weapon is BIS for anyone stepping into T10 on Tuesday. Most likely the only way to get the new magitek weapons is to get the new tomestone from T11 or something. Also, the next progression of relic will come in a later patch.

Day one obsolete no. Within a couple weeks yes entirely. Higher ilvl almost always means higher weapon damage. Weapon damage is king of stats. Nexus is ilvl 115. Secondary stats are usually trivial compared to weapon damage.

Again I'm asking for clarification because this is what it looks like. It just seems like for all the hard work nexus requires, its overshadowed quickly.

I am loving the 500 soldiery per animus book. Assuming the rate you get soldiery is the same as myth.

Indeed it is. Should be no surprise, seeing as how every big patch brings a 20 ilvl increase in tomestone gear. (myth -> sold -> poetics)

Well BLMs get rather fucked in Frontlines after this patch. Effectively only making swiftcast useful for sleep.

...why SE. Just why. We cast slowly in the first place, swiftcast was damn near necessary to make that finishing blow on a healer. We're a nuke class, and you took the ability to effectively use Flare away from us.

Same with the reduced 400 Soldiery per Alexandrite map. I'm at about 41 melds right now for my second Novus and was concerned with having to cough up 800 Soldiery per map.

Lolled at "drop dead shiva" quest name. I love when they give silly names to the primals ex quests (ie Titan)

i cant imagine what their reason is, considering they dont even seem to be sharing gear with BRD, as we thought...unless it applies to the ilv120+ stuff

what did you expect? relic has always been weaker than end-game gear. it only caught up recently, exactly because 2,4 is coming soon.

Noooooooooo can't stack regen and medica ii anymore in frontline. This WHM hate!

If those Artisan or Foragers items are meldable then i'm done with crafting/gathering until 3.0.

Actually very pleased about a lot of the notes here; but mostly with a few of the adjustments:

People withdrawing from queues getting a penalty. This has been coming, things like repeated ST requeue boxes and pitifully empty teams in Frontlines are annoying. Give people a reason to actually be serious about what they sign up for and stop inconveniencing everyone else.

PvP adjustments. Healer stacking is finally looking less desirable... Maybe. I do want to see the difference first. Not sure what to think of the Swiftcast nerf to BLM; I'm sure they aren't too happy. And Node/Drone stuff seems promising. Kinda gets old when 2 parties come to a flag and floor the other party before the drones spawn. And now castors actually need to commit to an LB they start.

Increased drop rates on older stuff. I wonder by how much though.



...Aaand everyone seen these 4-star synths coming. Luckily nothing that seems to be crafted appeals to me that much.

Can't wait to see half my server rerolling ninja. Their attack potency on top of that 15% attack speed buff seems pretty insane.

Ok... dumb question maybe, but what is DEX type? I know dexterity, but how do they measure that? Is it some weird formula like accuracy and parry where it just seems to be random?

What's the point of Shiva weapons being i110 when Soldiery Weapons are already so easy to get? All this does is make the fight DOA like Ramuh and Moggle Mog EX except for people who will want to farm it for vanity.
