Idea to improve wards (make AH crowd happy)

I understand a lot of people simply don't like the extra hassle of what basically is an elaborate 3d auction house. I also miss just walking up to a counter and taking care of all my shopping needs.

What they should do to fix this without totally removing the wards is make it so you do not have to enter the wards to buy items. You still have the option to enter, for instance say you want to 'window shop' for equipment by looking at what different retainers have equipped. But if you know what you want, and it's in many different wards, it would be great if we could just simply buy the items 'remotely' from the menu outside the wards.

Also: add price history, prease!

Reality: Been suggested 67392 exact times by every member since the birth of the Market Wards.

Just give us an AH >.> you can keep those wards there, just give us a separate system somewhere else.

Maybe Auction Houses will be included with the cities for higher ranks, while the noob cities stay stuck with wards. xD

Did you honestly think no one suggested this? People suggested it before these forums were made, people suggested it in beta lol.

The fact there is no AH is due to bad server design. When they finally figure that out one of these decades, we'll probably have an AH pop out of no where.

I for one would find it a little silly to be able to purchase things from a blank space.

I think they should just take one ward and rename it into the Auction House and throw AH NPCs behind the counters and there you go. The rest of the wards can be used for Retainer storage or something, whatever.

Doesn't solve problem of wards becoming full. It's still going to be a nightmare for sellers and it's not going to scale well when/if the servers have four or five digit populations.

I say remove the physical manefestations of the wards, make all retainers searchable by the items they sell but when you buy the item you have to see all their inventory first, That way the "Browsing to see what you have" part is still there


And no, turning the Physical Market Wards into a Menu Market system does not make it an Auction House.


Its only an auction house if you add Timed or Blind Bidding.

No Bidding = Not an Auction House.

Yep. When most people say they want an auction house, what they're really asking for is a system that's easy, fast, and user friendly.

How about:

Keep retainers, but remove wards. Simply add counters where the ward entrance is, and when you search for an item, you choose a specific retainer who appears behind the counter until you are done dealing with them.

what if 2 player choise the same retail ? and that is just like AH

Why do the retainers need to be rendered? What purpose does it serve?
