So I'm getting the feeling that no one noticed that they added a seek party option to the party menu in 1.18 as dozens of adventurers are still shouting in Ul'dah yet no one has a flag up.
Please start using the party recruitment interface. It really isn't that hard.
To seek a party:
Go to Party -> Recruit -> Set purpose to Seek Party
Add a message/note to let recruiters know what you're looking for in a party.To find others seeking a party:
Wait to be invited.
Go to Party -> Search -> Set purpose to Seek Party
Invite those seeking a partyTo set up a recruitment for a party:
Go to party-> Recruit -> Select purpose -> Select Location-> Set conditions -> add a note/message
If the purpose for the party is a quest, mission or dungeon you can select which quest , mission or dungeon using the drop-down box underneath the Select Purpose box.To join a recruitment:
Setting Conditions is where you set which jobs and what levels you are accepting into your party.
You may leave purpose and conditions set to "any" and just type out what you're looking for in the message section.
Wait for people to join your party.
Go to Party-> Search -> Set Conditions for the type of party you're looking for
If you keep conditions set to "any", all parties will show.By using the recruitment interface, you're able to search for a party or recruit for a party from anywhere in Eorzea. This means you can be out doing leves while recruiting and not hanging around Ul'dah shouting. You can be in Gridania crafting while looking for a party to do quests around Limsa.
Join a party you feel suits your needs.
Please use it. It will help the community out in the long run. ll it takes is a few minutes to get familiar with it to give you a better gaming experience in the long run.
I really hope this helps people get acquainted with the party menu. It really isn't that hard once you take the time to look at it.
I think most people are just intimidated by all the drop down boxes. If they scare you, just ignore them and continue through the recruitment process.
Please use the seek party flag!

patch 1.19 should include a tutorial on how to use the search for party system. One you can't skip, and make it auto start from the moment you log in. So everyone who plays is aware.
Make it cute with moogles, and chocobos.
As a reward for completing the tutorial is a Chocobo or airship pass. -

You can't set a comment telling people you've taken up a camp, so they can't search the area ahead of time and know not to waste their time going there. You can't search for players of all classes at once if you're looking for people with the "seek invite" up. You can't use auto-translate for the messages. It's easy to forget you have it on at all, and if the hour passes and you don't see the message then you're no longer seeking a party. It's not even remotely intuitive to have to go to "recruit" in order to seek an invite in the first place - that should be for party leaders...recruiting. You can't use it to actually search for anyone, anywhere, at all, unless they are recruiting or have "seek invite" turned on because it's just a recruitment tool. You can't even find your own LS members' ranks and location from within the game. -

If anything it makes pin pointing the exact type of party that you're looking for EASIER. I remember in ffxi /telling all the people lfg only to find out they weren't looking for a party to grind and i had just spent 20min /telling people for nothing. This takes ALL of the guess work out of finding a party or finding someone to join your party and it only takes a few second out of your play time to set up, A FEW SECONDS. -

Cumbersome or not, it's in the game right now and it has basic functionality. The playerbase should at least use what's there instead of just whining "it's not gewd nuff" and ignore it completely.
