Urgent BLM Novus help

I have all of the Alexandrite. Need a quick response plz/

My BLM Animus currently is

Accuracy - 10/44
Determination - 23/31
Spell Speed - 35/44

I need 7 Spell Speed (grade 4) to finish the novus, but each materia costs 200k. I only have 6k on me. (lol).

I was thinking of adding 7 Accuracy, but... that feels off. If my Novus has 17 Accuracy, would I be able to make up the difference in gear choice to compensate for Spell Speed or DPS drop off? I have all alexandrite and enough Accuracy materia to finish it.

I guarantee you won't notice anything by missing out on 7 points of spell speed. From what I understand, you need a LOT of spell speed to even notice it.

Plus, if you have any plans of doing SCOB or FCOB, you will need accuracy.

17 ACC is fine, and as mentioned, opens you to other gear choices as well as futureproofing yourself some. Go get it and enjoy your new weapon. =)

Just finish it with w/e to get started on your Nexus. Then gradually replace unwanted stats (acc) with spellspeed as you can

this is completely false. blm gets more than enough accuracy from gear because caster gear has to account for SMN requiring more accuracy than BLM. You can easily get enough accuracy for scob using soldiery gears and 1-2 ST pieces until u either get mask or feet from scob

I have cleared the second coil completely, but it isn't kind with accessories or the coat. I do have pants though :D

Sure if you want to use Crit/Acc pieces, which isn't a good thing.

Okay, so I have my Novus now which to me is the best looking Novus. (appearance wise, not stat wise)
My main secondary stats are 500 or so spell speed, 303 Determination and 500 or so crit. What are the stats I should be aiming for that? I have 488 Accuracy.

Please read the OP's facts before claiming my statement is false.

Facts:

OP only has $6,000 gil

To max spell speed, OP would need to spend at least $1,400,000

OP never mentioned what gear they have nor what their total accuracy score is

OP never mentioned wanting more determination or crit, only spell speed vs. accuracy

OP stated he/she had enough accuracy materia to finish the Novus

Conclusion, it is perfectly logical to finish off the Novus by adding the remaining accuracy.

BTW, since you're so knowledgable, please tell us, what is the new accuracy requirement for final Coil?

Which would be an issue if it wasn't stupidly easy to make money in this game.

For OP, if I was him, i'd try and finish Novus asap with cheap materia then input more optimal materia as he makes money, so he doesn't miss out on Light towards the Nexus stage

It isn't stupidly easy to make gil if you aren't a gatherer or a DoH user, which I'm not. They to me are just far to boring to invest any time in it. The only way I can make money is to pray ti RNJesus with Spiritbinding, which itself would cost tons of money.

Ive made the majority of my money from Spiritbinding, and it isn't much RNG if you do crafting/gathering items. Its near effortless.

But if you are complaining about boring time sinks, then why are you doing Novus/Nexus? Its a far larger grind than levelling a crafting class to 50, and far larger than what it takes to do a bit of spiritbinding.

Sounds like you went ahead with the accuracy materia, which was probably your best option. Like others said, SE decided to be surprisingly lenient with modifying your Novus/ Nexus after completion, so whenever you're ready you can just pop out the surplus accuracy and add in more spell speed or whatever, provided you have the materia and alexandrite. In the mean time you can work on upgrading your Novus to Nexus.

Also, I'd wait at least until the patch to modify anything further, even if you do get some spell speed IV materia before then. You never know how the stat distribution will look on the new gear. It might (but probably not) be that you need that accuracy because there's so little of it on the new tome gear (or new Coil gear if you'll be up for that).

Our opinions of what boring is obviously differ... Crafting is not my idea of fun, at all. I play FF games in general to grow stronger and fight great beasts and likewise enemies. With the Relic quest, I can do that.
As I said, I don't have money to spend, so buying SB gear was already out of the question.

I'd rather spam Gilgamesh 30 times, or PvP (light farm and EXP farm in one) than craft. Crafting, is just ugh

I did sacrifice 7 SS but my build to hit ACC gave me 52 Determination.

I never said crafting wasn't fun. There is no opinion about it though, getting a crafting class to 50 isn't anywhere near as slow as the Nexus grind. Its not even "30" times.

Its just laughable that at 50 you have 6000 gil. You can make more than that with the challenge log and roulettes. I personally think either you are exaggerating, or you are just lazy. If you are actually good at the game, you can even do carries, but i'm sure you'll have an excuse about why that isn't viable for you.

Let's not become elitist and pseudo-insultive now. I'm not going to sell runs to anybody. Not because I'm "bad", but because it is morally disrupting.

Also, that 30 times thing was a hit at the time it takes to complete each Gilgamesh and the bonus time-frame.

Getting a craft to 50 is easier, but as I said, it is boring and I won't partake in anything like that. I already have the Laev so I didn't feel the need to make my wallet cry any further. BTW, at the moment of this post, I did have 6k. I don't understand why you revert to such a mindset (it's easy to me; it's easy to you), but the sooner you make free of it, the better. If you won't, then don't bother replying because I've not the patience to deal with that.

I've 213k at the moment, so it isn't like I'm static at 6k, so don't treat me as ignorant. (6k at the time because I purchased 2 Materia 4 Spell Speed, which is why I only needed 7 :P)

Nothing about selling runs is elitist. A lot of people can't find decent groups. A lot of people aren't running old content.

But think about all the effort you've put into your relic. All the atma's. All the books. All the fights (500 bonus HM Primals). And yet you are going to cheap out on it when it comes to stats? The ONLY REASON I have 200k (142 now thanks to ridiculous HQ food and Pot prices - raids) is because I used my capped out myth to purchase a bunch of Tawny Latex.

Also, I asked if I should, and people kindly answered and I took their advice. Of course, adding ACC in the first place was to avoid Savage Might 4 (Will NEVER pay 680k for materia), but I WOULD HAVE grinded out the last 7 SS materia would had persons replied such. This discussion swayed into "is it hard to make money", but it should NOT have had grounds with my decision to add the 7 pieces.
I will not lie, I was manipulated into defending my ground; into defending that money has to do anything with my final decision.

I already have the Laev btw. I do NOT have the HA items to make my Novus worth while at all. My original reason to get a Novus was to glamour it when it became Nexus. It wasn't to play a vital role, as I will farm T9 when it is open for my HA staff while I work for the new weapons.

You weren't manipulated, and given you complained about the cost of materia, its completely on topic to talk about it. Materia prices are so high because of the lack of people spiritbinding and the huge amount of gil in the economy.

If you are just going for Novus just for glamour, I can't help but think what a waste. But even then, if its only for glamour, I don't get why you made this thread as you've clearly made your decision and you don't want to listen to reason.

It WAS off topic. The topic was: "If my Novus has 17 Accuracy, would I be able to make up the difference in gear choice to compensate for Spell Speed or DPS drop off?". Me being short on money at the time influence the making of the post, not of my final decision.

I brought up MAKING money after you insinuated my indolence towards making money (stupidly easy) and insulted me only having 6k at that moment (I find it laughable). That's when I felt like I needed to defend my position.

That means that discussing how to make money is a VERY valid topic.

Furthermore, my comments regarding the money you had are completely valid, as I proved earlier. Why? Roulettes give you more than that daily. Then, you suddenly jump up to 200k, saying you sold Myth mats. Another stupidly easy way of making money.
