It's kinda hard to fap to her knowing she turns into a giant medusa head thing.
I would love to see high heeled shoes, pretty dresses, miniskirts, accessories (venetian masquerade masks) etc.
More emotes where galkas bend over or pelvic thrust are needed to keep up with all this content.
Who knows, but I like it!
this is nothing new, there been a few "Naked" ladies in the game-series before.
Just not very detailed, besides some of us asked for it.
/poledance

/happyending:rolleyes:
I wish this event would start already!
Just cause miqo's get a bend over pose doesn't mean it's same for all races... most have unique gender/race emotes... and really who the heck cares?! A Miqo doing a bent over pose is no more sexual than a man flexing... just cause it involves a woman people get bent all outta shape, personally I'm glad my miqo gets a more sexual/flirty emote... More emotes never hurt anyone xD You people who are against this are so sexist/ignorant lol Simple solution: Don't like it?! Don't use it!!! More options in game? Yes please, besides, humans are sexual beings get over yourselves :P
Of course they need to. And they need to do it before Tera hits us with all its sexy power.
You forgot subligar
I'd rather have the few odd looking characters than the clone fest we have now. Then again I imagine a few classes, no control over stats, no control over abilities you equip, and basically the only customization you get is your gear(which everyone wears the same shit anyway, because certain combos are "best") is more up your alley. Why? Because that's how it was in FFXI(or insert uninspiring MMORPG here), am I close?
Well, what I'd like to be next would be some proper summer clothing.
Seriously, would it kill the dev's to give us some civvies? Okay some of the gear's passable, but a friend and I were saying already how much nicer a summer dress and the like would have been than bikinis and trunks..
Ah well.
This guy does have a point, it's like been in clone ville. For the new emote and bikini gear, its just junk to keep the role players happy. Now you can run around in you're swimsuits and pretend its summer and then get blocked by an invisible wall stopping you from going into the sea.
If we're going to have omfgtits everywhere, can it at least be beautiful to look at rather than "The male version has a covering, but the female version has an open chest"
That's just super obnoxious particularly when I'd like to have a few elegant pieces of armour that don't reveal my cleavage. Also, with the way characters are posed so arms don't clip through armour, it's kinda ridiculous with how large some pieces of armour are in comparison to others.
That said, I'd like to see more detailed armour types come out rather than the team focusing so much on recolours for months. I could go without better gear if it meant in 6 months pieces came out that looked like these.

Or really anything from Magna Carta, those are all very charming and far more interesting to look at than multiple recolours of Robes and Gowns. I know that the premise of XIV's armour system was based around multiple parts combined to make many looks, unfortunately the largest part of their designs are the base. A robe will always be a robe. A hauby will always be a hauby. And that gets BORING to look at, especially now. I'm not against this system, but I am against the incredibly boring designs they've implemented thus far.
I'd love to see more final fantasy stylings, particularly if they're going to throw all the design away and just make it focus on the breasts.
AS OBNOXIOUS AS IT IS.
I mean come on SE. ; ; Not all of us females wanna dress like skanks and throw around sexy poses. A few of us want to be the Utena of the game, and be the stylish elegant types.
Take the coatee set for example. That's a perfectly fine style for both male and female, but what did they do instead? Make the bottoms a mini skirt, and the top tit-central. I loved the coatee set on the males, and I think it would gorgeous on the females. It's also a shame as the coatee is the best crafting gear I can get for a few more levels. It's just really ugly and top heavy.
It's possible to make armour for females that's sexy without making it all about breasts. :/ Which is the one thing that bugs the hell out of me about this update, and the coatee sets. Like Terra from FF6, she had a great outfit, and in my opinion it was sexy. Even XI's versions of swimsuits were charming.
But these? When did I teleport out of Final fantasy and wind up in a sports illustrated magazine cover?
You think so? I'm a roleplayer, and pretty much everyone in my shell would rather have civvies and a summer dress, or a nice vest and slacks than this bikini.
I think what you meant to say was "...It's just junk to keep the sexually frustrated teenage boys happy."
I think it's something as simple as that it's just easier for them to make bikinis.
Seeing that the male versions of the swimsuits are just shiny versions of their underpants, I'd have to agree.
Still though, a shiny recolour of female undergarments with a little decoration, change in height or cut, or pattern would have been more desirable than to basically be as good as naked. :/
Like you, I personally prefer a more subtle not so in-your-face kind of sexy. I have a lot of respect for their art direction for FFXI - the way they didn't go down the tacky route by making characters with huge breasts and slutty clothes like most other MMO's.
Lingerie that looked like it came from Victora's Secret?
Yeah. ; ; Even the female dancer outfit wasn't terribly 'sexy'. But because I guess....There's the male version and female version, the direction in difference between the pair, I don't like it. ; A; I'm sorry, but if only they could add the option for females to have the male version as well! I'd like that!
I would like to wear velveteen bottoms like the males, I'm tired of this mini skirt nonsense!
I can't describe how weird it is to wear the Bliaud, and then see that the whole front of the chest is open. It's...weird. I don't mind for some things, but for ALL the versions of it?
It's like, I imagine when we get the black mage armour, there will be a giant triangle cut out of it to show the cleavage lmfao.
Maybe for the coatees if they must, but it's really tasteless. I wish the Devs would tell Yoshida's team about this, to translate to the artists. >_>;
U people really need to get a real life @.@
Couldn't agree more.
Women require both functionality and dignity.
I would prefer it if they kept the unisex gear properly unisex and dignified and instead made some pieces that were race and gender-specific (underwear is race and gender specifc, so the in-game coding for it is there). It's only way we'll see an elegant dress or waistcoat come out in the designs.
Right now it seems the only way they can make a unisex piece of gear gender-specific is to sexualise it. We see this on the bliauds with the women and with the shirts on the men.
U people really need to get a real life @.@
There's more in the game that covers up than there is that shows off. There are more emotes in the game that are non-sexual than there are sexual. Basically, the game is giving you a very small number of options to show off a sexual side to your character. I think it's great, because emotes should cover all emotions, including those of the more sexual variety.
Just remember, if you see that Mi'qote pose being done at you - what are the odds that Mi'qote is representing a fat bloke down the road? ;)
I think the only reason why there's so much hate for the sexualization of those pieces of armour are because they're so much nicer looking than the base armour we currently have. The fact that difference between male and female versions is so great, in a way that's not necessary, that's also a part of it.
Bliauds are a great example. There was no reason for the difference, and they could at least give the option to have both styles as a female, or a male whatever floats your boat.
They're really cute designs, and could have been suited perfectly for males and females while retaining the same charm. And instead they cut the class right out of it and make it extremely sexual. I suppose it's society's fault for finding breasts sexual. But still! >_<
They could have made the pants a little shorter, or into shorts, not BOOTY SHORTS short, but like the under-skirts for the leather/dodoskin skirts. That short, or at least if they're going to do a skirt, make it a little longer. For crying out loud...
Also, really? They did the pose emote in a coatee. >_>; How more blatantly sexual can you get. It was completely intentional.
I'd hate for them to come out with a newer set of armour in the later patches and have it just full of open chests and cleavage. Or for all future male bottoms be super tight speedos or hot pants, subligar too. Lordy.

Now that I think about it, I wouldn't call the coatee sexual. Just because something shows a bit of cleavage doesn't mean it's sexual. It's just perceived that way because it's the most sexual optional item there is, which if anything shows that SE haven't gone down their traditional character design route (think Rikku, Vanille) of "show as much skin as possible." In fact, if you took it off, I'd say that would be a bit more sexual. ;) But if the coatee was done in a "classy" way that didn't show cleavage, and another creation came about that showed a bit of skin, that the popular choice would be the classy option? No, it'd be the skin-showing one. That's just the way things go in online games. It's okay if people want to go down that route. There's no reason to change clothes. Perhaps reason to add more options that are of similar style, if anything, so that there is a bit more variety out there. But if everyone wants to be as sexual as they can muster, that's their cup of tea.
Yep, as per Oscillate_Wildly last page I'm primarily a roleplayer myself, the vast majority of my friends, too, and none of us are exactly enamoured with the swimwear.
Not bawling for it to be removed of course - it's better than nothing, and they've been made, now - but I would have vastly preferred proper clothes, even over expanded character options. Sure, our chargen isn't the industry's best, but it's a vast improvement on its predecessor, and better than a fair few among its immediate peers, too. Not to mention what it does have is solid and well-realised, and I hope they keep to that standard when new options are added. At least it seems to actually matter to the dev' team, rather than being a cursory aside as in so many MMO's.
The people the swimwear is intended to keep happy - if anyone at all - are the shallowest members of the playerbase, not the people spend the majority of their play time and creative energy on adding depth to the experience. Not that I'd call anyone uses the new items members of that group, but if there's a group it would actually have a useful PR effect on..
Frankly though, I honestly think it's more in fun and new stuff for new stuff's sake; the advertising element's just an aside at best.
The only the obnoxious about the coatee is the fact that it is EVERYWHERE. The bikinis would be a nice touch, but im afraid they'll be everywhere too.
People are right when they say taht there are more clothes that cover you up entirely than clothes that expose your digital breasts. Wear those if it bothers you.
If it bothers you how other people are dressed, you're just gonna have to live with it. It's an online game, and others are going to do shit you dont like. I'd say dont forget about the subligar, (that thing has been burning my eyes since 2004.) but it seems those who are complaining about too much skin are only complaining about the female models because they're somehow more offensive than the male ones.
A certain degree of nudity is going to be anywhere you go in life. The sooner you learn to accept that, the happier you'll be.
Maybe if SE decided to stop posting females in a coatee every time they decided to show off some new feature. Let's see some sassy Roegadyns instead!
Now this comes from being the rare opposite gender that goes about in the forums, but when I compare between revealing female outfits to the suave look of the same outfit on a male, I'm going to want to look at that male model instead. The sad part is that I wish my female character could dress in that same manner.
So it boils down to putting up with the look or switching over. As I mentioned in other posts, since SE is trying to work in male Miqo'te I'm going to wait until they get in.
