Or say "more than two".

Watch it be just two & the outrage that ensues huehuehue.

I am sure there will be at least 4 New Jobs.

Musketeer > Chemist (heals)
Musketeer > Gun Mage (dps)
Spell Fencer > Samurai (tank)
Spell Fencer > Red Mage (dps)
Marauder > Dark Knight (dps)

I'm actually not sure why that would come as such a huge surprise. The biggest Class/Job expansion I can think of off of the top of my head (with limited MMO experience I admit) is... Rise of Zilart, with three. Expecting more than two actually seems rather silly to me given that.

It was just a teaser, they want to get that hype train chugging at a nice pace. So nah, I don't think they needed to say outright how many new jobs there would be.

I think since NInja is coming, Samurai will follow.

Tank and healer, DRK + 1 DOM

sam as tank?

healer uhm.....red mage? dancer?

Drk = Greatsword , mix melee / caster (dark magic )

for DoM = time mage? geo?

However Jobs slot onto classes in this game. There's no mention of new classes so we might just assume new jobs for existing classes.

Also these will probably just jobs added at the start of the expansion, as we saw with ninja in 2.4 they could add more jobs far into 3.x.

Well, it's prett much been stated will be new tank and healre, but I assume after reading interviews that and DPS jobs will be casters to balance out the present DoW/DoM disparity.

Dark Knight has been confirmed as one.

Should be at least three given the Dark Knight reveal and what they said before about adding a tank and a healer.

Unless they plan to make Dark Knight a tank.

But this is an Expansion o.o not a patch (Not counting the Ninja Rogue XD)

Where are people getting DRK from that panel, clearly they had the volume turned down from Soken with his mic, its BATMAN that's been leaked.

Nah Warrior is tank, Dark Knight should be a DPS with Samurai a tank.

Since the expansion involves Ishgard, the dark knight makes sense for launch, samurai won't be around til we get more content involving Doma, which didn't seem to be mentioned in the notes for 3.0.
Remember that Ninja and Rogue had precedent before they were added. So far there's been no precedent for samurai, but there HAS been precedent for Dark Knight (not an actual NPC, but there are thematic elements at work with Ishgard)
Therefore, my prediction is we will NOT be receiving Samurai for 3.0

Whatever they add, they better redesign the game to better support actually being able to play on multiple jobs with all of these new ones coming in. I'd rather not have to keep using only my 'main job' for locked out content.

Actually now that you mention this, I think some of the story in the 2.3 questline is pointing at the imminent emergence of Dark Knights in Ishgard.

Give me more armoury chest slots, then we can talk about more than two new jobs.

That more people want another healing and tank class but it won't be out until 3.0 expansion.

Hinted at Dark knight, but didn't clarify
Also said more jobs would be mentioned at London fanfest.
Some believe that maybe if it is DRK it will be a tank...

So atm we might be looking at 3-4 new class/jobs besides rogue/ninja. :)

I imagine that there will only be one healer and tank job released. That will preserve the 1:1:2 ratio for tanks, heals, and DPS (since SMN is currently the odd DPS out). They might add another DPS caster job, since there is already lore in place for a geomancer-style class, but I'm personally going to keep my expectations low. Better to be surprised than disappointed ;D

That would be interesting if it has a trait that takes a portion of damages and makes uses it to heal

12 knights, 12 ascians...if they add 2 new classes there'll be 12 player classes.

I wonder if Templar will be introduced as Tank with the Ishgardians (would make sense) alongside Dark Knight as DPS class (Melee Caster?).
I'm sure they are not going to push away the Gunner any further (that'd be a huge slap for those who wanted the class) - which leaves Gunner either evolving into the mystery healing class or we'll get another healer from Ishgard (possibly Astrologist or something that evolves into Time Mage or something similar).

No. Because whatever will come, them saying anything in advanced won't rush or delay the release of whatever such jobs. I'll be excited to play whatever is new, no matter how many or few classes and jobs are released when it goes live. And will not give a flip speculating what should or should not happen before then. Or wishing such class/job, going by name alone, should or should not be exactly the same as any previous FF incarnation of same such class/job.

As the cheap guy i am, i was reading the twitch comments and someone from the premium stream said they announced 4 new jobs, but i couldn't see anything so...

maybe is tank healer and 2 magic jobs.

after 2.4 , we will have 4 DoW Dps and only 2 DoM

Probably one of the each houses from ishgard have their own speciality
so could be 4 jobs

Samurai - confirmed from Sokan's music, dat files.
Dark knight - Confirmed from the Nolan film tease.
Musketeer/Gunner - Confirm from previous Live Letter (hinted to not being what everyone expects, gameplay-wise. Could be the new healer)
4th class - ??? anyone's guess (I want to say Red Mage, only because one of the House Emblems, for Ishgaurd, is a Rose. And from FFXI that always screams Redmage/Fencer, Romantic)

Now between Dark Knight and Samurai. Which one will be the tank is up in the air. Ive been waiting for Samurai from the get go. And can see it going either tank or melee. I wouldn't really care. I kinda like tanking, since picking up PLD to bide my time. If they made Samurai a dmg dealing tank, that would be awesome. Hits so hard that dps can't even take away hate. Then Dark knight could easily go dps role. Since we already have a Paladin knight tanking. It would make some sense to have a Dark knight go dps.

Since DRK has been more or less confirmed and SAM seems set pretty much my top four would be SAM, DRK, Chemist healer and RDM. I don't know how likely it is, but that is what I am hoping for that still seems withim the possibility.

Nah. They need to keep people in suspense so they get hype and watch the next stream/go to the next event to see the next trickle of info.

inb4 Samurai folder was a huge trick to overly hype everyone
