We’re pleased to announce that the London Fan Festival will be holding interviews with special guests from the development team during the live stream on Saturday 25th October 2014!

In this thread we'd like you to pose any general questions you may have regarding FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn. We will also be taking questions on the following topics:

• In-game Lore/Localisation
• Sound/Music

We will use this thread to gather your questions ahead of time and answer them during the event.

When submitting your question, we ask that you follow these steps:

What plans do you have for horizontal progression, both in terms of gear and abilities/levels?

We will have new Nobuo Uematsu music tracks in 3.0?

Will there be any significant changes to the class/job system (besides level cap increase) coming with the expansion?

Are we ever going to see a bigger variety, more interesting stats on gear?

Elemental materia still exists. Why?

For the Moonfire Faire, one of the vendors had a remarkable similarity to Minfilia from Version 1. Localisation for the English version had significantly different dialogue from German, French and Japanese; with her mentioning a female partner. How much free reign is the localisation team given in general?

I'm excited for Eternal Bonding. Many of my female friends like to play Weaver just for the suit, so I wondered if we can wear the tuxedo for Eternal Bonding. Is it part of the game's lore that men cannot wear dresses and women cannot wear tuxedos or suits?

Do you plan to ever change the progression of Relic weapons? I can imagine many have a lot of trouble grinding for these at times (especially if you work like me). Some find it a long, long, long grind to get up to the latest Relic version now there are multiple levels.

Where are you guys hiding Nobuo Uematsu today? (on the day of the event) I know he's hiding here! I want to give him a hug.

Can you give us Monks the option of fighting bare-handed?

Can you bring handwraps and headbands to this game?

Are there any plans to change or remove the positional requirements for melee players?

/battlecry or /yell emote, can this be a thing?

Will you please consider a better, less stringent Lockout for End Game Content in the future?

It is better to allow more players to raid with their Friends, FC / LS Mates, than to be stuck with this segregated / isolated "8 People Only per Week" Lockout you have now. The current system (Coil Lockout) does NOT promote any feeling of "community" and is frustrating for most Free Companies and Linkshells (and people with Friends outside of their Static).

The RP community would love an "RP" or "IC" status icon to display next to our name, much like how you can display you are AFK and Looking for Melds. This way, we could recognize each other among other roleplayers!

Could we get a backpack to display on our back with a toggle on/off command similar to how the Legacy Mark works?

Will the existing bardings ever be extended to other mounts?

It would be nice to have a barding with our Free Company crest on it.

Would you consider increasing the furnishings caps for personal rooms? 50 slots alone is kind of limiting!

On the same topic, when will we get more ordinary furniture such as tableware and other tabletop tools?

Please consider making facial expression persistent, or make them last longer.

I love the addition of the idle weapon stances. (Minus the Hyur male dragoon.)

How about adding an alternate active weapon stance for each class?

Is there any possibility of reinstating the elemental wheel?

is there any chance players who previously owned a pair of Hermes' Shoes will get them on an account-wide basis or be able to transfer them to other characters on their accounts? Many players from version 1.0 had to create new characters before world transfer was available to play with their friends and it would be great if we could do that.

Any information on a new gathering class?
Will there be any real content for DoL/DoH classes?
Any chance of getting some mid-level RSE gear through FFXI style RSE quests?
New zones?(not dungeons)

As the game progresses and an increasing amount of gear is introduced, will we be able to store our older hard-earned gear in a manner similar the the armoire at the city-state inns, so that we don't run out of space and have to throw out the items?

What ever happened to scalable content? I thought we were supposed to be able to choose how many or how little people we take into stuff! Did that get scrapped or still planning on it? :)

Will you allow eternal bond partners to co-own the same personal house?

Could we have a quality of life change as far as deleting read mail from (moogle) mailbox goes, so we could delete several messages at once?

Currently we are warned when the mailbox in-game is getting full and requested to delete some of the read mail, which is perfectly fine.
Yet it's bit tedious to remove them one by one.

Is it possible to add a "Gear Guide" that you can add all kind of equipment in order to "collect" them for glamour purposes?

Would it be possible to have a chosen glamour tied to the character's job rather than the piece of gear itself?
Or, some other alternative to enable glamouring one piece of gear that is shared by several jobs to appear different regardless of the gear that is chosen to have its appearance projected on the target gear.

Example:

I would like to glamour Scholar's Gown (SCH) on my Daystar Robe (WHM, SCH) when I am playing as Scholar.
However, I wish for the robe to have the appearance of Healer's Robe (WHM) when I am playing as a White Mage.
Could the development team consider a solution for this?

Are there plans to introduce body markings for appearance? Such as scars, tattoos, birthmarks, etc. on other areas than just the face.

For sound/music department:

We recently received the "huzzah" emote. I was, admittedly, bit disappointed as it didn't include a cheer of victory. Could such be added?

Have you considered rewarding players who clear primals or other similar trials with gear other than weapons?

The weapons do look fancy and all, but it would be lovely to see, say, Shiva-themed chest piece or Ifrit's horns as wearable helmet.
Can imagine it'd make the lifespan of such trials bit longer due to farming.

Speaking of primals. We currently have furniture and weapons that can be crafted using the material drops from HM and EX primals (Garuda's Feather, Vortex Feather, Inferno Horn...). The furniture include Ifrit lamp and Garuda couch that tend to be bit difficult to match with the decor of one's private house/room due to their flashy appearance.

It could be easier to match them if there were more pieces of each set. So my question is, could we have more housing items crafted with Garuda's Feathers or Titan's Hearts and the like?

Being a huge fan of the beast tribes of Eorzea, I would like to know if there will be any new beastmen joining the Scions in the Rising Stones now that we have lost Noraxia in the raid on the Waking Sands?

If i recall correctly Yoshida stated a few months ago that we could expect a gun class sooner that we thought, just wondering if there are any updates on this ?

I'm sure many fans would like for you you to consider adding the Hildebrand poses to other races - would this ever be a possibility? How about an emote that plays his theme? In fact, what would it take for you to just turn me into Hildebrand on a permanent basis?

More serious question: a lot of people play with their partners and like to share many aspects of the game - private quarters in particular. Is there anything that could be done to make it so that another player can be nominated to have the same permissions as the owner?

Since the Eternal Bond system is going to cover relationships like Sworn Brothers as well as Marriages are there any plans to allow people to have more than one Eternal Bond at a time?
