Whilst running a Spirtbonding grind session at Urth's this morning, me and a fellow LS member were discussing (or rather he was telling me) that having more than one party member affects SB gains. In fact, this person claimed that it was the reason for not bringing out his Chocobo. So, is this a matter of fact? If I have a Chocobo out, or join a party, am I partially nerf'd for SB gains?
If you know the answer, please cite the source (e.g. patch notes, dev clarification, etc.). I'd like to clear this up - running without my Chocobo in crafting gear as a PLD yields forever-long low DPS.

as far as I remember, SB gain is divided in the party, either it is formed with other players or your chocobo.

I have never noticed a difference in SB gains due to having more or less people in the party. Its possible other factors were contributing to your friend's claim, like HQ gear or having materia on it. But afaik, you get the same amount of SB per kill solo that you do with a party.

Well just from kill count. I need about the same amount of mobs for 5% solo, with chocobo, light party, full party (no chocobos in both).
Why about? a level 50 Mob gives a bit of a different SB% than a level 49 one. -

Even if the rate is highest when solo, You'll never kill mobs as quickly as with a full group. Especially if the area is crowded with others. You'll just end up fighting over claims anyway...lol

I have been solo SBing a lot in the past before ever joining SB parties (and also before the SB nerf), and I can assure that yes, solo yields you more SB points per kill. However, the killing speed you get as a party makes up for it. In the end, a party is more advantageous long as it's not a party of AFKers.
