Patch Notes: Before Patch Release? Thank You SE

Releasing patch notes before the patch goes live is NOT something SE usually does.

Just wanted to thank whoever made that change, and I hope it continues!

Yes awesome thread and it looks like SE was right. After 1.18 the patches will be coming faster and thats cool.

It just feels different since this is only an update, but it's the largest one we've seen yet, which makes it seem like a new patch.

I think this is the first time that SE has pleasantly surprised me with patch notes for an "a" patch. There is a lot of good stuff in this one.

Agreed. The Home Point changes alone are enough to warrant a sub-patch.

I'm really surprised they haven't reactivated auto-target... Or at least made it an option.

I made this revelation a little while ago, but I'm pretty sure every server is a test server right now.

If you're already linking it, how about checking the dates?

Except for 1.16a NONE of them were posted before the actual patch. Check the dates and see for yourself, all of them except 1.16a were posted the day the patch happened.

edit: I'll add the dates just to make it clear:

Patch Notes 1.17a: 25th April
Patch Maintenance 1.17a: 25th April -> delayed to 26th

Patch Notes: 1.17b: 23rd May
Patch Maintenance 1.17c: 23rd May

Patch Notes 1.17c: 15th June
Patch Maintenance 1.17c: 15th June

So...this is actually the 2nd time since the release 11months ago that they released patch notes more than 1 day before the actual patch so yeah, I think my "parallel universe" reference does apply ;)

I only have one question," Shield skill points are now awarded upon the completion of regional leves, faction leves, and behests.", man what about quests? Oh well, not a big issue, glad they fixed the big three.

For me it shows the Patch Notes being posted on 15th June at 11:47AM(my time) so even considering towards JP and US timezone thats still 15th June.

And about the patch notes being released early or not, I don't care about that at all, they could release them while the servers are down everytime like they usually do, doesn't bother me, I was just correcting the comment that claimed this happened "on a regular basis" which is not the case and hasn't been up til now.
