I earnestly believe that SE should add some new low level dungeons to add some flavor and excitement to the low level dungeon grind. What do you think?
Perhaps a side quest for a new low level dungeon or two.

How about something after DD other than Aurum Fail?
They'll just fall into disuse like every other low level dungeon once people get enough levels.
Probably. But really, that's what's going to happen to the myriad Lv 50 dungeons we have too someday, so... Only the dungeons that have quest requirements really have any reuse outside of rare cases like Brayflox HM so more variety shouldn't be excluded just because "they'll be ignored eventually."
it's mostly because they have more than enough content below 50, people seems to fail to see that most of them time in a mmorpg will be spend at max level... some people like to level up more, but they are a minority.
why add content that will have little use, when add content level 50 will add more stuff to do.
other point all this level 50 dungeon will be handy when the expansion and the level rise will come out ^^
Y'know I'm kinda curious what they're gonna do with these Lv 50 dungeons when the level cap comes out. I wonder if they'll reassign a couple of them to different levels (like 50-52 or whatever) since they have different item level requirements. Granted that'd introduce a stat cap like we have now with level sync and would change the dynamics of some dungeons (aforementioned Brayflox HM) but I'm not entirely unconvinced they're not already testing that with Item Level Sync in Frontlines.
Lvl 50 dungeons seem to get outdated quicker then the below 50 dungeons. Can't remember the last time I did a lvl 50 dungeon that wasn't one of the 3 in expert roulette. It would be nice if the AK, WP, Pharos, haukke hm, lost city, etc weren't useless now, but that is the way they want dungeon progression. At least the pre 50s get done whenever someone wants to lvl a new job.
It's true the higher level dungeons get outdated so much quicker, which is why I wish they would add them to the overworld in some way. Maybe just a part of the dungeon that connects to the world that you can zone into and do stuff in, maybe add new gathering points and new treasure maps that bring you inside them. It's just a shame that the areas get wasted like that. Sure, people still run them, but eventually they'll disappear from rotation. I know it wouldn't happen but it's fun to dream :p
Sastasha... The number of times I've had to run that dungeon are beyond measure. Rare isn't the word I would use.
Dungeons are actually a pretty good way of getting XP. You get around 1k per mob, and up to 4k per mob in the later dungeons. Combine that with around 10k for bosses, and it's easy to see why it's a favourite of mine for levelling up. It's less monotonous than grinding endless Fates and you actually learn how to do your job by the end of it.
While I too would like to see more low level content added, realistically it's never going to happen. The entire game at this point seems to be focused on making level 50's more powerful with stronger equipment. Not a particularly thrilling focus, but I suppose it was inevitable for a game which is designed for grind.
Just like they revamped low level dungeons into Hard mode dungeons, they could do the same with all new HM dungeons they introduced since 2.0 (Pharos, Hullbreaker Isle etc,) and make them easy (is more easy possible lol) low level dungeons. This way, they would not need too much time ressources wise and levelling would have more Variety.
With the offclass heavy nature of FFXIV, in combination with the lack of incentive to play most 50's dungeons. The queue times for the below 50 dungeons tend to be lower than for most 50's dungeons. Many people simply use those lower level dungeons for leveling purposes. Whereas the 50's dungeons really have no use whatsoever outside of the roulette ones.
They may just as well scale down difficulty on 50's dungeons (non-HM) and use those to create more sub 50 dungeons.
A few new dungeons would be great for people leveling new classes to 50. Dungeons are great for leveling, especially for tanking and healing classes, but running the same one over and over and over again gets so tiring. Just a few more for level gaps would be amazing.
I like this idea. Some of them, especially Pharos Easy in particular, would be targeted towards people working on their 2nd+ job. Remember that with Pharos, you need access to the Isle of Umbra, which is late in the main story. Loot could even be the same as whatever level the dungeon was intended for.
I respectfully disagree.
New low level dungeons means more variety for players who want more content below level 50.
And more low level content also helps players who want to max up more than one class without doing the same dungeons, fates or levequests (a tedious process).
Moreover, SE can release a HM (or EX) version of a new low level dungeon. Or do a "easy mode" for hi-level dungeons.
I think this would be a win-win situation for new and seasoned players.
What about all those people who have already leveled every class to 50? You think ninja would be a big enough distraction to waste development time on an entire dungeon a large chunk of the player base will never need? I don't. Most players that level every job like that will have nin to 50 within a week and this dungeon will be 100% useless to them.
Dev time should go to more useful things. Not too an incredibly small niche I don't think they should care about.
Just like FFXI, there will be more classes (if this game survives the post WoW standard appeal) and the lower content will still have use, years from now. So it wouldn't be a waste of development time when as shown, they're not exactly going all out with certain content to begin with.
Forcing us into old content for new content? That's such an immense amount of development time spent!
True - However that proves this game isn't gaining new players and losing more players than it gains if low - mid level content is considered 'niche'. While you can hit cap pretty quickly, when they release 3-4 new classes/jobs per major update or expansion, you think you can just wander into level 50-60 dungeons after you unlock it?Quote:

This is an interesting statement:: “(...) to waste development time on an entire dungeon a large chunk of the player base will never need?”
How many active players achieved level 50 in every class? How many active players refuse to play new dungeons below level 50? I would like to see statistics about this.
Don’t get me wrong: I would like to see new hi-level stuff, but I want more dungeons for low/mid level characters too.
