So about the premium video feed for the fan fest... any update? Con is in like 4 days

I'm guessing they're going to link it in the next day or so. But some information now would be most appreciated.

I would not expect SE release any information on the pricing till Friday.

Made myself laugh thinking that they are waiting for it to be translated to english like most things.

I'm wondering this too. Would be nice to know beforehand so that I don't get my hopes up too much and end up being surprised with a price that's higher than I'm willing to pay.

I mean... how are they even going to prepare for the DDoS level of hits on a steaming site without having a good gauge of how many will view ahead of time? HD level streams eat a lot of bandwidth & all.

Odds are they going to leave that to some 3rd party, like how they host the other streams on Twitch, Youtube, and NicoNicoDouga. So... since all of those sites have more than enough resources, there is no reason to worry about limits.

Probably the reason why they are charging people money to see an HD stream. There'll be way more people viewing the free stream than the HD stream so I wouldn't expect the HD stream to have as many hiccups as the SD one.

SE's servers can handle it. They've proven it time and time again.

Is it going to be english trans'd in real time? Will they finally have a translator there talking just after the devs?

I see no reason to pay for prem unless I can actually understand whats going on.

I am surprised you are asking this if you are talking about wanting to get the NA event feed. If its real time (in Las Vegas) without translator or having English speakers there it would be pointless to be there in person also. :)

You apparently haven't hung around Twitch whenever there's a huge event, such as tournaments for LoL, DOTA & SC2, being broadcast on their servers. Chat lag, video quality and frequent buffering occur with even some of the big name broadcasters like MANvsGame, Lethalfrag and Towelliee (who typically average viewer numbers in 1000+) during these events. Now imagine that for the much smaller broadcasters that regularly only average a couple hundred viewers or less.

It $20 and it will be in English

I was hoping it would be $10 or less. $20 is really pushing it. I know it provides access to a higher quality stream, but we all know we're just paying for the moogle attire. Any important reveals or information will be posted all over the internet within seconds of it being announced.

That being said, still tempted to get it.

It seems we also get access to a handful of XIV twitch emotes. So if you are a twitch user that is an extra bonus for us.

Nice! Just saw that update too. That's more within my price range than I honestly expected it to be so I'll definitely be looking into it once I get off work.

Personally the difference between standard and premium is not that much of a difference. 20 dollars is pretty steep imho. ( I'm only assuming the Premium feed has the Expansion Pack reveal, it just make sense) lol.

Stupid question but for the London stream (my account is EU) does that mean the price will be in pounds?

20 dollars > 15 Euro'ish > 11 pound'ish

I'm glad they're adding archives at least for people who pay for the premium feed. I'd like to watch at least some of it, but they likelihood that I'll be off work and available to watch it live is really remote. Still, $20 is pretty steep for a moogle suit I'll never wear and the ability to watch videos that hundreds of people will summarize for me before I even have a chance to view them...

I would pay 20 for it. The fear of it not working is real though Streams are always goofy.

$20 is quite a bit cheaper than what I was expecting. I was expecting $40 (which is the price of the Blizzcon Virtual ticket). I still don't plan on getting it, though. I'm trying to save up money. ($180 to go!)

Not gonna lie. I was expecting it to be much more. I bought a premium already. Just waiting for the stream now.

Just remember, IF you buy the premium, you will need to wait until Dec 21 before you get the moogle attire delivered to you.

Please work twitch lol. I stream mostly but when I watch large events I do get a lot of buffering at times.
