"Glamours may not be stacked."

Not sure how long this has been around... but I used to be able to glamour a gear with another that's already glamoured before. For example, I glamoured gear A onto gear B, then I can glamour gear B onto gear C, which sadly, is no longer possible.

Someone please tell me this isn't working as intended since the glamoured system is already leaving plenty to be desired.. :(

I'm almost certain that never worked. As I tried it when the system first was implemented to test the limitations.

Never been possible. However you can glamour multiple iterations of an item into different things.

It's working exactly as intended, I'm afraid. Why should the image of A put onto B, carry over if you try to glamour B to C? I don't think it's a transitive process, which is why we're at least lucky A isn't destroyed when we use a glamour prism to put A's appearance onto B. It's still perfectly good to make a glamour of A onto C, with the addtion of a new glamour prism.

someones' PS3 would be exploded if they allow such a thing.

I'm guessing the OP isn't looking for it to A > B > C to carry through and have the same effect as A > C, because you can just do A > C. My guess is that he's looking for A > B for Job 1, and B > C for job 2, without having to have two copies of B (which may be Unique).

(Or, if that's not what OP is after, it is something that'd be nice to be able to do.)

This. A isn't destroyed, so there's no need for stacking. You can glamour A onto B, and A onto C. You can also replace an existing glamour with something else, like put A onto B, then C onto B without removing A first.

Maybe the way I describe wasn't clear enough, I'm not trying to glamour A > B > C as in A > C. Put it in a clearer way, say I glamoured Gae Bolg (i80) on Darklight Spear, then Darklight Harpoon over Gae Bolg Zenith (i90) in an attempt to indirectly glamouring Gae Bolg (i80) over Gae Bolg Zenith (i90). When I tried doing that, what used to happened was that Gae Bolg Zenith (C) would take the appearance of Darklight Harpoon (B) instead of Gae Bolg (A). I believe this is working as intended, where if you tried to glamour an item with another item that is already glamoured, it will take the look of the base item. However, this is no longer possible now. If you try to repeat the process, you will get an error message of "Glamours may not be stack.".

TL;DR, you can't glamour a gear with another piece of glamoured gear.

You can just get rid of the glamour and glamour it again... takes 5 seconds.

What if I:

1) Lost item A (relic progression for example), want to keep item B glamoured and still glamour item B on item C?
2) Swap the looks of item A and item B? (Cross-glamour)

I will like to highlight again that I am not asking for something new, since it was possible to glamour a gear with a glamoured gear before this, what I'm trying to ask is if this is intentional (which sadly I think it is) and if so, is it possible to reconsider this decision? I really fail to see a reason for them to change the old system besides for more gil sink.

While I'm on the topic, is it possible to keep the different types of glamour crystals but remove the grades? I seriously find it pointless to have 5 different grades since the crafting materials and requirements are the same. If anything, it serve more as a source of annoyance than anything else.

As long as I remember this was never possible, first time I tried it said me that I had to remove the glamour in order to use the item for a glamour. Or maybe it was an overlooking at the very beginning of glamour that was fixed.

Same for me, and I tried it quite soon after it was implemented.

I manged to pull it off very early when glamour system was in placed since I wanted to keep the Gae Bolg Atma around without the glow when I hit novus. That was when I learn that glamour over-stacking doesn't works, and in between here and there I have glamoured gears with something else that's already glamoured too. It was only until recently that I found out it no longer work.

Well someone had a glitched glamouring interface than. It didn't work for me before Novus was introduced.

the way the game uses the vanity system in this game goes as followed (to my understanding)


Gear A dye colour= none.
Gear a glamored into gear B.
Gear a dye colour = Gear B.
Gear c dye colour = none.
Gear C glamored into Gear a's Gear b colour.
Gear c dye colour = gear B.

at least that how it assumes, however due to the fact the game would try its best to overwrite changes to gear a this causes some issues
Gear a= missing Gear C has no model, But stays into its Gear B but must stay what Gear A was, But theres no Gear a (essenchaly a looping paradox in the code which causes a lot of errors.)
Gear b= missing = the glamored item no longer excists, so the game says the piece must be glamored as Gear A, but since Gear a has only one step in this it retains Gear b's information, Gear C however is trying to become Gear a and the same paradox appieres,

when it comes to programming trying to tell something to become something that no longer excists causes small issues, when its a very short line of code gear a into gear b, the game can very quickly do this by using Gear b= item + colour, but with a 3 step process this confuses the game Gear c = gear a + colour + gear b + colour, since the two colours will contradict themselves, (even if they are the same,) that will cause an error, and the fact the game is trying to look up 2 items instead of one confuses it more on what takes priority.
