ST 2nd Boss Zerg method

Just posting this so people can do that fight faster & easier.

Don't kill any of the drones just walk into them and break the tether. Dont break anyone out either.
Focus all Dps on the main boss.

The amount of time the tether is on the boss the more damage his special does.
Killing Drones pushes the boss into the next phase faster.
His special only did 150 damage with us not killing any drones.
The Drones will despawn after a period of time, even if you inside them. (20-30secs)
Kill all the knights and link them with they're tethers.

Continue attacking the boss and your done before he can use his next special attack.

There no more dealing with platform jumping.

I've typically ignored drones anyway, so this is encouraging.
Had quite a few rook-phase skips with just decent dps, same applies with Scylla's daybreak phase. Most of the decent runs being on reset day.

Whilst a good Strategy, gettin 24 people doing this might be a funny outcome ^^

Already did. Its easy win. Just people need to read the text. "Focus on boss only and walk into the drones and break the tether. Dont dps the drones."

Any raid that has half-decent DPS can do this, without ignoring the adds. First time I saw it done was a week after ST was released. Now, I'd say about 3/4 of the runs I'm in kills him before we have to jump away. Only about 1/4 of my runs kill Scylla before daybreak though. People at really rather dumb when they have to move and deal with simple mechanics.

That being said, I rather dislike the "ignore adds/mechanics" mentality that seems to be cropping up more and more on certain bosses in ST. Can't tell you how many times I've been silenced on Amon because some party is full of melee who can't be bothered to attack anything other than the boss.

"I need to be #1 on the aggro meter, I don't have time for mechanics"
Same goes for filling circles on Xande.

Good enough DPS can also let you skip Curtain Call. Admittedly that's less of an issue though as it is less of a break.

Given that the drones take maybe 5 seconds to die anyway if attacked, why have most of your party be removed from the DPS pool entirely for a minute before they despawn?

You can skip second Deathstream even with killing Wrights.

It's not even particularly hard.

Skipping the jumping phase has become a lot more common now, even without this strategy. I see it all the time. This sounds like an interesting thing to try though, if everyone was onboard. Now if only there was a way to skip those comet phases in the last battle...

Sadly, given their being HP triggered there is no way to get around them. =\

Yeah, in Xande's case the most you can push is maybe an extra couple percent because he's busy performing some other action; unless you could burn off 33% of his HPin about 5-10 seconds you wouldn't be able to phase skip.

if your dps is really good though, you can actually skip even the 3 robots.
