Coeurl turning into a ghost town?

Feels like anytime I am in the high traffic areas, be it Rev Toll or any city, there is just less and less folks around. Is Coeurl in a slow spiral lately, or just the pre big patch lull, or other games took alot, IDK what has been going on. It is just creepy even seeing less than 10 people in rev toll, given most all of them were AFK.

The disparity between high and low populated worlds seems to be growing. On Balmung there's so many people in rev toll that my ps4 can't even render them all, and it shows 200 at a time. I think it's a combination of what you said OP, along with a lot of people moving to more populated servers.

Famfrit is the same way. It used to be jam packed and now, for example, the last two nights, I see maybe 10-15 people in the entire area of MD.

They are all out hunting mobs heh.

Pre-patch lull, people quitting or transferring servers, and personal housing - those with houses tend to gravitate near them. I never hand out in RT or town hardly ever anymore.

I have 3 characters on coeurl in 2 fc's . out of 88 players maybe 7 will be logged in.

Coeurl is indeed in a lull.

Can'r speak for others but I've been playing other games. However, if you missed me, I'll be back on Tuesday.

I know I never go to high pop areas now, I have been taking a break before 2.4 but when I was on everyday I would be by my FC house MB and with the addition of personal housing I am close to that or the FC house. Not much point sitting in RT or the cities anymore.

But I know this lul has hit my Static pretty hard 5/8 quit all together, we replaced 1 person every week or two weeks for 2 months now so are still completing content, but ppl do not log in for very long, other than to complete T9.

Everywhere you look, houses are disappearing. I just left the server myself.

1) Not enough end game population.
2) Lack of healers endgame (as I am a tank.)
3) The "elitist" attitudes. These guys spend 6 hours a day for weeks trying to get one turn down, and then think they are awesome. They will treat anyone that doesn't bow at their alter like "scrubs." Only problem is, they aren't good, they just have statics, and on a server with low population, that enables them to behave that way.
4) a quick comparison with my new servers party finder and coeurls. its like a 180. Coeurl its "LULZ must have Coil 3 gear to get into our t5 parties or you are a scrub." People expecting you to have clears or even gear from stuff they themselves are trying to complete for the first time.

On coeurl, if my book fate was going down I'd yell "hold up," and I'd get nothing in response or even "sucks to be you." Here I just watched 10 people actively coordinate in shout to wait for some one.

My raid group and many others transferred to levi. I suggest everyone else to come there too.

Many of the end-game based community is transitioning to Leviathan. So it's certainly getting lower in population and worse in average player skill. Many people keep transferring daily now.

Well, when you have people like aeromat... Who can blame them?

I wish you best of luck Thephirefox. I think Coeurl still has some good people though, at least I've met some. I hope that the population does go up again though. Isn't that the point of an mmo, people?

Ok. We all know there's a problem in our server. The question is how are we gonna solve it? Bickering and trolling each other(in the forums and in mor Dhona) is not gonna help. I can count at least 16-20 end game raiders that left our server and that's a blow in our end game community. Personally, I can only count as few as 24-40 people actively doing final coil. We need to buff up our end game community and encourage people to start doing second coil more, get some t9 kills and stuff. Also no, I'm not asking for the end game people to carry the rest of the community. Just give some helpful tips and such. I know I'm behind I'm still working on t9 with 3 different statics but hey I'm working on it.


Tl;dr: instead of like trolling each other and such, damn let's work as a server and get some shit done. Do you guys really wanna let our server die down and end up as one of the servers with the worst end game community? And end game is just one of our many problems....

I get what you're saying and completely agree; however, with the turn of events and the slow dying out of Coeurl, I don't know what else can be done at this point. Kobato created an endgame LS for players who need help with endgame related areas of ARR. Maybe contact her in game, she usually has a PF up from time to time promoting it. I'm also in game if you want to do some scoby/primals/w.e.

Yea, I'm in that linkshell and it's pretty cool that she's doing that. We just need more people actively doing coils. I'm always down to farm second coil. So are a lot of people in our server, the main problem is that there's only a few people taking the initiative to start a farming party/learning party and when people do start it it's only within their small circle of people and honestly I can't blame them knowing how unforgiving some mechanics are and that some people don't have the patience to teach. It's like the server's desire to do end game content is deteriorating and people are settling with sold and gerolt equipments.

Your not far from the truth. Although I can say another truth of whats happening is overall Coeurl doesn't have a great band of skilled players on average. What's happening more then that are people don't want to go through the frustrations of training people, because it takes time for something you could just do with a static you know are capable of doing the content with. You have Kobato, getting people through some endgame which assists the climate of the server, but people don't have the drive to be good at their class, which FCOB forces people to be, both in Heals and DPS.

The problem is more that Coeurl doesn't really have players at multiple stages of the game in the same way populated servers do. If you're on a populated server that gets lots of new players, there will always be people at different points of progression because the player base renews itself over time. I'm fairly certain Coeurl doesn't really have much of an influx of new players.

If you PF particular content, I've noticed you'll often see the same couple people doing content. The same people making Shiva Farm PFs, or Ramuh clears, etc. Coeurl is lacking in fresh blood and ultimately that won't change unless people who are capable assist players progress through the game, tedious and boring as it may be. I'm sure there are talented players out there who just can't get T5 down or can't even find a party for Mog EX or something. That LS mentioned in this thread sounds like a start, at least. I realize it's not really fun to carry or teach someone content especially with instant wipe mechanics and so on but the server climate isn't going to get better because our population and player base is so stagnant.

People not being good at their class is something in every MMO ever on any server ever. The problem on Coeurl is that the resources don't even really exist for people to become better because our PF is like, the same three guys making shiva farms, fate grinding for NIN parties, and like very occasional clear parties for outdated content that either never fill and are of dubious quality if they do. It's hard to blame people for not getting past T5 when you could sit an entire night and not get a party, then still not win or even get anywhere if you do.

In regards to the lack of second coil farm parties, i think it's just because very few people are even that far. T6 is the only one that ever really shows up in PF and it's success rate is questionable at best. The few T7 and 8 ones I've heard of, by most reports, end up not going very well.

alllsooooo I think another factor is that people kind of caught onto how gear progression works in this game (as in 2.5 will probably make getting i130 pretty ez), and we're on the brink of an expansion that will surely blow up the ilevel to new heights, so it's a bit harder to get the general population motivated to run really difficult, stressful content for rewards that will probably become outdated in the expansion very early on.

Here's my thoughts:
There are plenty of people who have yet to clear SCoB and most primals. The problem isnt not having players like Kobato helping (that ls is really only active when she's on anyways), its having elitist snotbags that won't help form new statics because they're too busy jerking each other.
And then there's the FC issue: All of them pretty much just gossip, craft, and play favorites (helping certain popular players over helping anyone else). God forbid you tell them this cause you'll get kicked out real fast.
The problem is (tl;dr) People need to stop being elitist pricks and actually help.

They might as well merge Couerl into Levi... Seems everyone decided to jump ship to there.

The issue is not that we don't have skilled players on the server, cause we do. There are still multiple things that prevent us from having more people doing FCoB.

First we have a large influx of new players coming on to our server. Which is cool i'm down to get new people who enjoy playing the game.
Second the endgame players that are still on the server are trying to progress with the new FCoB with there statics and I know several groups who run 4-6 days a week trying to down content.
Third school is still in session for a lot of people who play this game. IRL comes first!
Last people who are putting up these farm parties are wanting to farm to get there better gear. In the past few days while I was on I noticed several learning parties in PF. Its out there it just takes some looking.

But if we really want to try to fix our servers problems what we need to do is we need to have people who have cleared SCoB and other Endgame content to step up and do what my FC (Abel) and Fuse is doing and if you see a learning party and you are bored cause you aren't raiding just jump in and see what you can do to help. I understand trying to teach new people mechanics of fights we learned several months ago is tedious but if you want our server to grow and get better again we need more of the people who are endgame driven to step up and try to help out.

I know for my FC we try to at least once a week take our new people into content they haven't seen before and show them the ropes, and i do feel FCs come before pugs but we generally will ask other people to come help and do so threw PF when we do it. Hell, just last Friday we took two people from our FC who hadn't run T6 and though we didn't beat it or clear it for them they got to see the mechanics and in the 90 mins we were in the run learned how to dodge moves and how to effectively play there class in the turn. So if helping your FC over pugs is a priority then I don't blame you but you can not expect our server to just get better if you are only helping them. You have to branch out and help those who are not in your FC.

Now that being said the new people this goes out to you. I want to help you get geared and learn the endgame stuff but I can tell you from my stand point I is really aggravating to join a learning party and you don't know any of the mechanics. I want to help I really do but I do ask you to do the one thing and watch videos of the fights from youtube even if its just to see the mechanics you have to work with.

If I left out any other FCs who are doing the same thing Fusion Sword and Abels Vengeance is doing I am sorry.

Come to Exodus, plenty of new and legacy players, all at different levels of play. Usually at anytime, at least 15-20 PF going at a time.

Just don't level NIN, they are like 1/3 of all players right now, lol. But even as DPS, DF waits are under 30 minutes.
