That's what I'm thinking. I've been playing around with some points in INT, and it really adds to the damage. I see a lot threads that say "THMs don't need INT, just VIT/PIE/MND", but I think conventional thought in this matter could change soon. I guess each class is pretty versatile in this respect, but maybe INT THM could be a common thing.
From what I remember, it always worked. People just play poorly.
I'm R49 Thaum (hopefully 50 tonight) and I was kind of thinking of possible Point Allotments. I also have Archer, which brings up a whole different topic of the point allotment system, but I see bigger changes in dmg with increased INT then i do STR. With that said I was planning on totally realotting to mage specs.
What kind of stats do you use when going into dungeons? What kind of dmg output do you get?
My Int is at base for elezen male (guessing somewhere between 15-19). My banish and scourge IIs output about 350-770 depending on the target. Higher end on ghosts and skeletons of course.
i have glad to 50 and bought the +10 int conversion trait, seems to help.
Yes. I recently boosted my INT, and found i was often 2 shotting enemies during leves.
Odd. I seem to recall testing showing that INT only affected darts. Did that change with the patch, then?
Character statistic and damage formula alterations haven't happened yet - 1.19 with the abolishment of physical levels.
However, Scourge and Banish did apparently get a bit of a beefing in 1.18 to make up for the start of purpose-realignment.
Here's a good tip I found for soloing. If you're solo grinding SP (this may have been brought up before) use ranks 1 of Scourge and Banish (dumping many points into INT) and with Stygian Spikes up you hardly ever go out of mana and at rank 38 my rank 1's hit for 4-500. Pretty good deal.
If scourge/banish II do 700-750 would it not be more mana efficient.
double the mana cost and cooldown for a 30% damage increase? The cooldown is HALVED meaning after dots you can spam them back to back. making it 30% more efficient.
and by the way, now that i have stacked int so far up to 140, they hit for 500 consistently (rank 1s) i can clear the whole upper level beastcamp at treespeak (10 mobs or so) only having to sit a couple times. 400 sp.
wow had a severe problem such as this in the early years, where it was more healing per mana [HPM] to just use a lower rank heal in situations where people werent going to die fast enough for it to mattter. in this case, such as soloing, where your mana pool counts, i have 30% more [DPM] by using scourge 1 and banish 1. they solved this problem by making lower rank spells have absurd mana costs so using them would be an utter complete waste of your mana.
This all has solo in mind so keep that in mind, anywhere where your mana doesnt count (such as behests or leves) its fine to use rank 2 spells, or it could be even worse considering the low hp of the mobs.
feel free to correct me on anything cause im pretty baked while writing this.
rank 1 is imba if you ask me. (with current mana regen in mind)
what a surprise, i play MRD and switch all my stats over and recently did a THM leve today with 50 int, and my spells do an average of 200 less damage.
