Is it going to add new wards or expand existing wards?

I read YoshiP said that existing 8 wards will be doubled upon 2.4 (quoted below)

Ofcoz at the beginning I tho it means adding ward9-16.
But I read some posts by players mentioned that it should be expanding existing wards to make each ward have double plots of land available. And they even said that it was a translation error misleading the readers.

Dear Rep. could you kindly please clarify this matter? Thank you.

I am going to upgrade my personal house from small to large, if there will be new plots of land on new locations in existing wards, I would like to wait and see. ^^;

So from how I understand it, the "including the two new wards" referred to the additional land that was implemented in 2.38. I initially thought that meant that they were adding new housing areas that are unique to the 3 city wards, but I was told that I was incorrect.

The quote seems to be able to be read both ways. Since it says the land for all existing wards be doubled, but finishes off numbers of wards will be doubled. Personally until I see convincingly different, I would take the latter as most probably, as it be easier to implement. Since increase ward size would need areas of the wards being redesigned and expanded.

A increase in the wards size would be preferably tho, since it means the wards will have more traffic and as they steadily increase ward numbers (lets hope) to meet demand. We won't have masses of wards clogging up the screen to choose from when enter a housing district.

When it comes to housing, it is best practice to not get your hopes up.

it can mean 2 ways (more likely to happen):
1. the currently housing ward will be double mean 8 will become 16
2. the wards add in 2.38 will be double mean they will add 4 new wards

the thing Yoshida is vague because he spoil but hidden info at the same time; so dont get your hope up;dont assume anything is the best way to deal with ANY info being leak by Yoshi :)

Though I guess it could have been taken both ways...I'm almost certain he meant that the number of wards would be doubled, counting the new wards that had just been added at the time.

The off chance that they double the space in existing wards....well. This COULD happen...because I know for sure that on the east side of the Lavender Beds, there are two bridges that lead to a closed gate. I wonder what will be beyond those gates one day.

Even I believe it should be just "basically, double the wards" = 8 wards become 16wards.
But after I have read below post, I doubt that if i have mis-interpreted what YoshiP said. ^^;

建設用地 is "construction site" not "ward". So it's like "To put it simply, the number of construction sites in Patch 2.4 will be double what we've seen up to Patch 2.38." That's why the previous sentence is talking about doubling land in the existing wards, including the ones they just added.

I think they are not going to expand current available ward, if expand, its going to be identical like the current ward.
ward 1-1, 2-1, 3-1 .....etc.

if they are not expanding, they most probably going to add another 8 more wards
9,10,11,12,----till 16.

There was actually another dev post about this on the Japanese side a week ago to clarify this (here). In every ward, they will add a new area that's completely separate from the current area. So I guess you could kind of think of it like each ward will now have "Zone A" and "Zone B" (where A is what we have now, and B is the new area). They point out in the post that this means that people's existing locations/scenary/services/etc. won't be affected in any way.

Huh....so maybe they will be opening those gates after all. Sooner than I thought

Are they releasing the ward 1 by 1 or 8 wards simultaneously ?
