Yeah I thought that too! It's a blatant ripoff of FFXIV ARR's Opening Movie. its pretty insulting they would rip that off as well since it holds a lot of meaning to FFXIV players from 1.0.
Bahamut himself in the anime even looks like our bahamut, same design and everything, like they opened up FFXIV's art book and drew it line for line.
But then again Rage of Bahamut (which Shingeki no Bahamut is based on) seems to like copying Final Fantasy.
wow is all I have to say.
Rage of Bahamut is actually a mobile game that is quite popular in Japan.
Now I can't say they are not a rip-off, as they are in another way with your money. However, they do have some originality with the stories (events) and their gameplay. I played it myself, under the same name, and it took up a lot of my time and money. I would say it really an MMO for your mobile device. The content itself is a bunch of cards based on anything and everything that is Legend or Mythology. It does have a lot of Final Fantasy like figures, but figures like Bahamut and Odin are not originally from Final Fantasy. I can say that it doesn't have figures like chocobo or cactuar, but does have their own Cait Sith
In regards to the game itself, it pretty cool.
Also, the third beast fighting Bahamut was Satan.
Can't find the show anywhere but I just watched a preview of it on youtube and yeah. lol total copy and paste from some scene's. But I also got some Attack on Titan vibes too with the giants, walls, the way the camera flies down alleyways and the design of the town.
Yeahhhhh that was lame. Obvious rip off but not even that good of a rip off.
Are they really copying though? SE doesn't have a patent on mythological creatures. And how many ways are there to draw a BMF dragon?
I just went and watched it... Eh.... not much of a rip off beyond Bahamut floating in the center of an area, throwing beams at an Army. Oh and breaking chains.... lol.. beyond that.. not much else.
That awkward moment when you realize what happened in XIV's "ending/ARR's opening" has happened in a few other Square Enix games before including FFIX and Bahamut Lagoon, meaning Square got the inspiration itself from something else. I thought this was about MMOs that originally started to copy XIV 1.0 like Black Desert I think it's called?
True there are some similarities between the sealing of bahamut +the look of bahamut+a bit of attack on titan.
The dragon does have a similar shape bahamut...it's also called bahamut which is a giant fish in arabian mythology and it was FF that uses that name for the dragon.
Overall, there's worse rip off out there
Shingeki no Bahamut featured: Diablos, Bahamut and Odin.
The begining of the anime reminds me alot of the ending of 1.0.
you do know SE didnt invent bahamut and even down to the design of bahamut was already made SE just modified it and has since made the king of good dragons evil ugh although i havent done the turns yet so maybe he has just been missused by someone but from the intro it makes him look evil
The art style reminded me of suikoden 3's intro but with different things, I only see a couple of things like odins horse and dragon king, other than that I don't see it as a rip off.
Though Suikoden 3's intro always gives me goose bumps when I watch it.
Suikoden 1-3 and 5 but I wish they stuck to 2D like the first 2 games.

Are we talking rip-offs?

If we are talking about ripoffs, I'll have to say Dungeons & Dragons did Bahamut first. In 1974.
Look at this and just TRY not to draw comparisons.

Holy wow, yeah that is a little bit... too close to the events in FFXIV's End of an Era Trailer..... Plagiarism much?!
Here is the episode in question: [http://www.funimation.com/shows/rage...ounter-wytearp
this one is even worse https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZD3SoPcJwE
the first 30 seconds I thought I was watching Realm Reborn Animated.
Yup... the first 10 seconds is a shortened version of the first 3 minutes of the episode.... Pretty blatant :/
You should see the episode. . . The first 1-3 minutes is almost exactly the end of an era trailer! Just add some Odin in there >.>
I actually wanted to see this anime... but after watching the first 2 minutes Im too disgusted to give it another thought...
