Tribe's FFXIV Chapter is hosting a copycat event of the Running of the Gnomes in support of Breast Cancer on the Leviathan Server. This will be the first (hopefully not the last) Running of the Lalafells in FFXIV. It will be held on October 19th at 8pm EST/7pm CST/5pm PST!

Tribe has been doing a Think Pink Event in support of Breast Cancer Awareness with some other FC's on the server. I felt that the server's participation was lacking and we could do so much more in regards to raising awareness for the cause. In essence I felt that we could do more. That's when I considered doing a copycat event to the Running of the Gnomes. The more I thought about it the better it felt.

How do I participate?

We realize that some people have the lowest level subscription to FFXIV which allows only one character/server to be created. If this is the case dye your armor pink, dye your hair pink and show up! :D

If creating a new character for this event and the server is locked for character creation (as it is a high pop server) then PLEASE create the characters late at night or early in the morning to avoid this server lock.

We will be doing much zone wide messaging for this event to make the server aware as well we have a linkshell that we will be inviting people to. If newly creating a character try shouting in the surrounding starter zones we will update with a list of people to contact or just shout out if anyone knows of anyone online that can invite to the Running of the Lalafells Linkshell. We don't have fancy tabards like WoW's Running of the Gnomes (because FFXIV doesn't offer it) but we do have the ability to dye clothing as a level 15 quest - here - . If you get to level 15 feel free to dye the armor pink :D

Our Running of the Lalafells will take us from the Old Gridania Ampitheater to Ul'Dah and will end at the Rubyroad Exchange. Once at the Rubyroad Exchange in Ul'Dah we will attempt to make a heart out of all the attendees for a screenshot.

See a map trip details below for more information! We will be stopping to bind at each Aetheryte to bind encase one or more of us die. After the screenshot is taken at the end we will do a body count and post the link again for the donation.

FAQS

Can I stay in the Linkshell/FC afterwards?

Yes! Although it's not going to be an active Linkshell. Tribe Gaming (www.TribeGaming.com) is the Free Company on Leviathan and we do invites by application on our website. We do this to help ensure the quality of the person in Tribe (non toxic). This Linkshell is just for running, but we won't kick anyone out unless they're being absolutely horrible. You can always message me on MSN/Yahoo/Facebook Chat/Gmail Chat/Skype or on my personal email if you have questions about the Tribe Gaming Community.


I can't attend but will there be a stream/video?

Hi guys. As you can see this is Demi Shin. The one that started this event. I would like to thank both Lillith Nailo and Liono Dragonstar for starting this thread and Tenkai Holysword for helping me with the event yesterday night. TRIBE's Breast Cancer Awareness

Yea. On Thursday I was sending tells to people to see if they want to join and I also posted it on a Facebook server called Leviathan Server and asked them to join us. A friend of mine named Tenkai Holysword was helping me send word at Mor Dhona at 9-10pm est time and on Friday as well. Friday didn't work out so well sadly but it seems that some people wanted to do the ribbon so I made a temp linkshell so we can all talk and see what would be the best time to do this for people and take another picture with the ribbon but with more people plus upload it on this thread XD. The linkshell is called breastcancerawarenes, couldn't get the last s in :(. To which I may change it to event planner for any special events that come up, who knows.

Because it's stupid and does nothing. The whole purpose of wearing pink for supporting breast cancer was that you *bought something* pink to wear from companies that used profit from those sales to go towards breast cancer research. What you're doing is just as stupid as doing an in game food drive for homeless people. They don't need your moral support, they need your money.
This is coming from someone who's wife has been through cancer.

I didn't just "dye" my clothes I also donated to Susan G. Komen foundation
so there is a point to raise awareness most people just don't donate out of the blue on themselves until they see people raising awareness then they donate.

All those on the Levi Server. I plan to do another 2 events this Wednesday and Friday at 10:30pm at Mor Dhona. The Wednesday one is a run on ST tower wearing some type of pink dye body piece while on Friday many of us will gather and take an ribbon picture. The more people that come the more I will donate to the Susan G. Komen. I will post on here and other places as well to show that 1. I have donated to the cause and 2. I didn't go back on my word into help those women.

It could have also been the random people that post here as well that told SE to take it down. Which is mess up because all of us are doing something for this and a lot of people are just not caring. I still have to post as well of my ST run event I did and the money I donated as well. I had a full party but couldn't do a alliance but don't know if I will be doing a ST run again or not. We shall see and I will talk with my LS if they have anything in mind. Also sadly I will be at work but I hope a lot of people will come to this event!!! I have high hopes ^_^

I think the reason is because I posted about a donation site which could be classified as "inappropriate advertising". I will edit it and repost it.

I added our event to the OP and edited out the potential "inappropriate advertising" donation discussion by directing them offsite to our website if they wish to know how we are donating as a FC.

I will be away most of the weekend for a Cub Campout I am holding.
