Much in the same way you guys released an official FFXIV USB gamepad when the PC version launched, why not release an official PS3 compatible bluetooth keyboard & mouse combo to coincide with the PS3 release? I'm sure there's gonna be a lot of people who are gonna want to play with a keyboard and mouse, even on the PS3.
My setup in my apartment has a long HDMI cable going from my PC in my bedroom to the A/V receiver in my living room, so I can play PC games on my big TV with surround sound. I use a bluetooth keyboard and mouse (plus a wireless XBox 360 controller) to use the PC from my couch. It's awesome, and I think there would be a market for this on the PS3.

No to bluetooth. I prefer a wired mouse and keyboard.
Plus I've got a G510 and an Mx510 so I'd really like to see something that at least matches the features I've currently got. -

There's also a bluetooth mouse that isn't listed there for some reason. The keyboard has a dock for your authenticator so that it doesn't get lost. -

I used to play FFXI on the PS2 using a Logitech Netplay Controller, and I really liked it. If a version of this controller (either official or unofficial) came out for the PC or PS3, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

seriously... their marketing guy needs to go... rather than putting FFXIV logo put some chocobo, make the mouse yellow, add some extra button on that crappy mouse... why the hell we have to use some crappy old school mouse that has FFXIV logo only and pay more than a $10-$20 mouse that has 10 buttons on cheap websites.
Make the keyboard glow green and have small LED display showing chocobo running away from chasing cactaur with Eorzea clock inside...
Just slapping on some FFXIV logo wont get me excited enough to buy those crap... (and I'm super Square-Enix fan... I have all kinds of stuff from SE... figures, models, tshirt, signed stuff, cups, plates swords [swords not official SE stuff])

Read that last sentence as being really put off and slightly offended. When blizzard contracted out to make their WoW keyboard, it was cool and had features. This one doesn't. I think it really shows you how backwards squenix really is.
If squenix really cared about the players and delivering something worth buying, it'd at least have enough G keys like the G510 where each one was automatically keyed to one of the macro slots. Instead they try to pawn off a $12 dollar keyboard with FF slapped on it. -

To be fair, I highly doubt SE commissioned these products to be made. It's more likely the Elecom themselves saw an opportunity to sell some simple accessories by piggybacking off the hype of what was expected to be a big title. (keep in mind these were announced prior to the game's retail release). The company probably just licensed use of the logo to see branded product. SE only likely cared that it didn't fall apart in your palms, not that it was as awesome as a logitech G19 or what have you when allowing the rights.

People who think the keyboard doesn't work correctly, are you from other mmos of FFXI? Cause I played XI on compact keyboard and I think minor things should be changed with XIV's set up, but I think its works rather properly. Not being able to map stuff does suck, but I don't want this like wow with its ridiculous key mapping. I wonder if people confuse "not liking the controls" with "not working properly"
