Idea: multiple Maxxed class bonus

Okay I have an idea on how leveling multiple classes can be improved (Regardless if you think it's it at the right peed now, note that they will not stop adding classes at Ninja and eventually it will take months to get every job at the cap)

For every class that is already at Level 50 add a 50% to the experience.

As an example; say wanna level up ARC next, and have BLM at 50 you get the usual 50% bonus (Chain and rested bonus aside), but if you have WHM at 50 as well that bonus becomes 100% doubling our experience, adding a level 50 BRD makes it 150%, lever 50 MNK 200%, etc.

Pros:

1. Makes it easier to catch up by drastically shorting the time needed to grinding
2. overworld mobs are actually worth grinding on

Cons:

1. Because of Pro point 1, actual experience with it will be diminished if you already have several jobs maxxed, meaning that new players that maxxed every job would be good at their main and maybe their first 2-3 alts but will suck at the last jobs they level up
2. Also because of that entire dungeons may be skipped because players are at a point where they don;t have to do them outside of duty roulette, making the queue times for the dungeons as long they are for post 50 dungeons
3. Some people will probably think it will result in being like this due to Con point 1 and Pro point 1:

It would take months to get all jobs to 50? Dear lord it hardly takes a few days to get to 50. So I'm just going to agree with your picture.

Other than dungeon que times, it doesn't take long to max at all... If anything maybe have it at 100% boost after 3 50's... Anything more and it'll take way too little effort and as you said, no one will learn the class.

I meant that in the context of this game eventually having an amount of jobs as XI if not more. hence the "eventually".

What you suggest reminds me of ffxi abyssea leveling. 1-99 in a couple of hours, with countless people not knowing how to play their job.

Yeah I'm well aware you lifted the picture from one of my posts I tend to use it shamingly often.

In the context of the game there needs to be rewards for specializing instead of trying to force people to have everything leveled up for no reason other than utillity. People should be able to find a single job they love and never have to even worry about playing anything else.

The game allows you to have options, it doesn't need to water down the accomplishment of having a max level anymore than it allready does. To be honest I've always been a staunch supporter of rewarding people for sticking to one thing instead of trying to reward joe everyman just so they can plunk that there are more tanks than there was last year on a graph.

I think the relic quests help with that aspect (especially with nexus). There's also the vanity mounts for Tanks but that may promote class changing more than staying as a tank.

I think The DoH however have it worse than combat classes since you need to get 4 classes at 50 for skills that are nessicary for HQ item making, 2 other classes for furniture and at least 7 out of 8 classes at 15 with the last one at 37 for both. Not to mention that post 15 they either need a gathering class or MB for certain mats

Also there are some players that finshed all the content for one class, get bored and try up another class

I like the idea, but tone down the additional exp. Maybe an additional 5-10% for each additional 50 after the first.

How about more achievement rewards? We have a title reward for completing a discipline and a gear reward for completing all classes, but no reward for completing 3 classes or 6 classes.

More exp we don't need. I'm sure 4 days after 2.4 patch we would see already lv 50 Ninjas.

If some can get Nexus 2 days after 2.38 went live. Expect some to have lvl 50 NIN the next day XD

The bonus should only grants achievement and probably new mount. So yeah, that's it. Still desirable for some player and grants some recognition, but not forcing it either.

@OP So what you would want is a 400% increase in exp for someone with all DoW/M at 50 to burn through Rouge (and increasing for every class released), now if we add DoH/L you would be looking at a 950% increase in experience, if they added that level of an increase we would be seeing people level 1-50 in one day, maybe less, and therefore wouldn't know how to play the classes.

Eh... I think it's already too easy to level as it is. The game practically rains experience on you these days.

Leveling is silly fast enough already. I agree you will see level 50 ninjas on the day of the patch for 2.4. First 20+ levels will breeze by with the recruit a friend headpiece + max rested bonus, then you can have 100 leves + 15 already selected, GC xp boost scrolls, and 1st time xp bonuses from Guildhests , all while wearing gear collected in advance or a flood of HQ gear & foods on the AH. Leveling to 50 is probably one of the easiest aspects of the game.

You don't get a 1st time dungeon completion on new jobs.

It is already wayyyyyyy too easy to level up, with this you might as well just start players at 50 when a new job comes out.

So, under this system, I've got BLM at 50. I want to try PLD and MNK. So I rush GLA to 50 without picking up any cross-class skills just so I can get the extra boost on PGL, and rush that to 50 without any other cross-class skills, just so I can get even more boost when I get around to cross classes.

Which is why they did away with the scaling % bonus to begin with and made it so that you get the flat 50% as soon as you're leveling a class that's any lower than your max level at all. You start with 50% as soon as you can switch classes at level 10, and it stays 50% the whole way as long as you have any level difference at all. That way, players aren't "punished" for stopping at 30 to get their job and level cross-class skills and such.

And leveling is stupid fast no matter what you do.

Isn't there already a bonus when you level a job that is lower than your highest job? <_< could have sworn this was implemented very early on in 2.0, maybe even in beta?

Okay I see the response has pointed out the potential problems more often than not. This was a just a bad idea I felt I wanted to dicuss but I don't think SE would implement it.

All I know is that once the level cap is increased, I have zero desire to grind exp on every class again and want the process to go extremely quickly.

I feel a limit of 100% is good. But going over would be to much. With chain and rested exp.

It's already so easyyy to level up classes though.

It's so not hard as it is now. I just took 5 jobs to 40 in 4/5 months. I did this with challenge log, low level roulette, beast dailies ones high enough, guild best roulette and levequests. So honestly already very easy.

Only if each additional job was +1% EXP. The 50% I think comes from completing the story.

Instead of giving bonus exp for each class you get to 50, i think every level should have continues xp, making so if you had like a lvl 50 war, and you wanted to level your lvl 1 blm, to get to lvl 2 it would be the same amount of xp it would take to get to 51 on war. Making it take years to level all the classes, forcing people to pick 1 class and sticking with it, thus hopefully having people learn how to read a tool-tip and actually master there job. Plus the completely unneeded grind that would give real meaning having all classes 50.

And all abilities would be crossclass, so you could have an actual super class if you wanted to put in the time, while base stats would get a bonus, but they would just scale off the class you currently had equipped.

Yea, idk i disagree with bonus xp, this game is already to easy. They throw xp at you.

The 50% comes from being at least 1 level lower than your highest class, at any time, all the time, as soon as you can switch classes.

The 50% we get now is already a bit much. Some sort of reward for multiple maxed classes would be cool, but not even more XP. Just add in some extra Achievement rewards for it.

I love anything that makes leveling classes faster (it may be easy but it is so boring and there isn't nearly as many people leveling classes anymore) but I agree with Amelia, it should be more around 5-10%.

Additionally, didn't someone say that the game didn't technically start til end game, level 50, and all the levels before are just tutorials? I really don't want to play through a 40 minute tutorial. D:

That was either a joke or a comment from someone who's never played the game. There's a ton of stuff going on from 1-49. I keep trying to slow down my leveling so I can see a bit more of it before out-leveling, but even dividing content between eight combat classes, that's hard to do.

No, I think it might have been a developer or something. Granted, I think it was said way back during 2.0 or 2.1... >3>
And all that level 1-49 stuff is either main story or side questing to get equipment, money, and EXP. :B
All the good, juicy stuff doesn't happen til 50.
(Plus, almost all of the stuff added from updates are for level 50+. D: )
