There's a small problem with this event, to do a funny response then a wish you need the EU community team to give us there wish first before we can start the thread, otherwise that puts the first poster at a disadvantage for making a funny comment before there wish.
also another point of note, seems that some of us have posted with our entries but missed the person above us window due to writing the response, are those entries now null and void? or still valid entries?
Yeah, this happened to me too. While writing my response two other people replyied to the same wish :(
I think it doesn't matter.
If everyone reads the responses you can pick someone that's above another that wasn't replied to yet. That's what I did ^^
Can't edit, but that makes sense. I forgot to had my wish lol. Luckily I could do a quick reply and get it under my answer.
I think the Devs will read through them all regardless! Good luck!
(Oh, and enjoy your Moogle, Snootles!)
Hmmm... Since the contest is going on in each language forum, would be it allowed to participate both in the English and French contests (for example)... I'm bilingual :P
I wish this game would offer good content that doesn't require a full 8 players. 5 man difficult dungeons please with 1 tank, 1 heal and 3 dps.
Just curious, I have 2 characters, if by some chance one wins the prize, does the other get it too? Much like how if you buy fantasia, all characters on the service account get them.
I posted my entry in the EU section, however, Im from an US territory. Can i null my post from EU and post in the US instead?
I forgot to quote the user above me ( also someone posted before I did) Do I have to redo my post because the rules says that the first post is the only valid one.
Slightly concerned that a fair number of us forgot the exact wording we were supposed to use and went with "your wish is granted..." or other variants rather than "Your wish was granted...".
Not really worried about getting a prize (knowing that someone that may have some influence has read my wish that I be able to summon my mounts as companions is good enough =P), but I hope others read this before posting and remember the rules state "was", not "is".
On a more random and less useful note, I need to put a few things I considered saying but didn't for various reasons.
"I wish Lightning would stop Returning".
So tempting, but I would be lying as I love Lightning :P
The other one:
"I wish for your freedom, Genie".
I'm sort of the opposite xD. I'm not worried about winning or losing, I just really want that 1st prize! If winning comes before the prize, that's just a bonus, but you can be damn sure I will be trying to win it!
(and crying out to the skies "Why hast thou forsaken me, Halone, WHY??" when I lose ;_; )
I was the same, except I was going to put the quote in after due to the 1000 character limit (which quoting the post before me would have exceeded), only to find that you can't edit your post in that thread sadly (although I presume that's to stop members changing their submission to something else to try and manipulate the outcome). It was the post directly above mine that I was quoting in any event.
Ah well, it's a fun competition anyway. :)
Greetings adventurers,
Thank you for all your contest entries so far ! In regards to the first participant not finding a wish he could respond to, I already addressed this in the entries thread.
If you reply to a post and you notice that the same wish has been granted by another good fairy just moments before you waved your magic wand (read: hit "enter"), your entry counts anyway, so please don't worry.
In regards to US participants: currently this is an EU event. Of course you are free to participate and have fun, but please be aware that due to the contest rules users living in the US won't be able to win a prize.
For all those bilingual geniuses among you, please only participate in one language.
Alright guys, less talking, more writing ! Knock yourselves out and enjoy the contest. Happy magic wand waving !
Just curious, why is it so hard to provide US participants with a prize? Are we going to get our own specific event that excludes other territiories as well?
I only learnt this when I wanted to hold a giveaway for a company I work for - there are a lot of laws around running prize draws and competitions. You would think it is simple and you can do what you want where you want, but you can't. I'm sure SE would love to open their competitions to be worldwide. Likewise, sometime you guys in the US get things that we in the EU do not. You may well get something similar at a later date, hopefully.
Why do people not read the rules of the actual contest? xD
It clearly says:
"Contestants cannot reply to their own post of the wish that they’d like to be granted."
Yet you see loads of people quoting themselves and replying to their own wish xD
hey, just wonder, I'm living in UK, but currently I m playing in Japanese server (Bahamut)
Can I still join this event plz?
plus, i was following the previous replies, and used the phrase "Your wish has been granted",
but the official phrase they use is "Your wish was granted“
though i replied it again using the correct one, i dont know if it will count T_T
dont tell me i loose the chance because this silly mistake T_T
why cant i edit my post afterwards T_T
Hi MisakiFushimiiii,
It doesn't matter which server you play on. Since you live in the UK you are free to participate in the contest.
Also unfortunately we cannot allow entries to be edited afterwards and this rule has been in place for all our contests. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.
will a mod kindly edit my post? I have a typo and I can't edit it myself since the thread doesn't allow it :\
"You wish has been granted" instead of Your

I made the same mistake, replying to the post above mine but forgot to put the quote in as well (silly me, I know)
My post was http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...=1#post2476734
and I checked those replies above, none of them were corrected
