Ninja and the shiny Nexus relic weapons?

So as most people have noticed the Relic's have gradually gotten brighter and brighter as they progressed, to the point of I checked out some Nexus images and thought wow that's bright.

Now my issue here is that Ninja is a STEALTH or as Yoshi mentioned a Scout type class. Judging by the brightness of these things are we supposed to assume that Ninja will fall prey to the same item design and as such will be stealthily hiding in the shadows with GIANT GLOWING KATANAS!?!

I created this thread as a light hearted dig at the shiny nexuses and secondly as a plea of some sorts towards the Dev. team in charge of the design and that if they must insist in the increase in glow of the weapons and that Ninja must follow the same design that they implement something along the lines of a dark scheme akin to black smoke, which could aid their stealthiness albeit at the cost of more calls to the Gridanian fire department as Ninja's running around with their katana's smoking might be mistaken for early warning signs of forest fires.

that doesn't exlude some black glow around the relic, since, ya know, shadow.

I expect it to be similar to BLMs. It's still very flashy but not very bright. However just to make a note of it: Wouldn't a large billowing smoke be of equal concern/attention as a bright light? I mean, unless it was night time already and you couldn't see it, I would certainly take note IRL.

I think the glow will depend on the colour of the ninja soulstone, seeing as every other relics work

yeah i do hope it will be something like this, something dark instead of light...

Every time I see my bow glow aggressively I cringe T.T I hope relic effects moving forward are toned down just a little. I also agree that Ninja's should be a very subdued effect that still looks super rad.

I actually loved the glow for the Bard Novus weapon and drg is not bad either, however i have them glamed now, lol.

This aura effect on weapon is the stupidest and ugliest thing I ever saw in a MMO...

ehm because no1 notices a ninja casting a fireball that explodes , right? or the ninja thunder spells isnt loudy to alert enemies :P

ninja has stealth? yes , but im sure it will be 2 min cd 10s duration or something like that , maybe is the skill that lowers agro so isnt useless in battle

it's simply we are some, it seems to be concerned about this extre blinding light coming from the weapon of a scout and stealth class... it's a bit like if a back ops unit was using big lamp for say: hello i'm there, look at me.

on another note, i really think that this glows on the relic is the worst choice they have made... god i wish they had make the weapon change subtly in the model instead of this.

I really hope stealth isn't handled the same way as it is in WoW and RO
Having someone magically appear behind you, stun you, and burst you down is one of the lamest things ever

They're building up to lightsabers.. ^_^. I would like to see the weapon glow staph, but I think they're doing the glow because it is cheaper than making a new model - or someone in SE really likes glowy stuff.

Can't find the quote at the moment but I was sure SE said that relics will get a completly different model as it approaches its final stages.

As being more on topic.. the dark glow is a great solution to keep things in line with the other relics but yet not be disturbingly disconnecting (as everyone else said, please try to sneak up on someone with a strobe light).

the target point the weapon of the ninja that glows strong enough for make the dark cave be like exposed in middle of the day.

I don't see the problem of having shiny weapons on Ninja. By being a stealth class they meant the ability to go into hide state (invisible) for a temporary period of time or during certain attacks. It's not like even if you had no glow, people wouldn't see the word "Ninja" on your head during pvp or seeing you move around. So I really really don't understand OP's point.

Ps: To the one who mentioned RO's hide, I agree. Besides the games you mentioned, there are others with this function aswell (Aion for example) where you can hide endlessly as an assassin and jump on whoever you want (a 5 mins of complete invisibility buff with 3 minutes cooldown) and there is no way to discover them unless you're another scout class with special buffs. If they give Ninjas the ability to hide, it would be cool if it wasn't a complete invisibility option, something like a transparent character which you could notice to the invisible shapes if you really paid attention around.

The original design and lore tell us that they will get a lot shinier, and not only that, they also plan to add special sound effects, though if I had to guess the sound effects will be restricted to when you sheathe your weapon.

The point is by definition a Ninja is something that generally relies on stealth or some form of espionage to achieve its aim. Now I don't see how a job named Ninja can walk around with a giant glow stick in its pants, I wasn't speaking from a mechanical or PvP view it was completely a visual frame of mind. Could you imagine the job quests focusing heavily on stealth tactics or misdirection and at the end of that when you forge towards the relic they say hey remember all these stealthy ninja things I taught you, well here's a giant light bulb you have to carry around.

you do know (I hope it does look like the pic posted on front page) that if it gets a shadowy color like posted that there will be outcry because it will be the best looking color in the game.

If that's the case, using your arguments only Lalafells should be able to become Ninjas because they're the shortest race and therefore less noticeable? let's get serious please.

The stealth works just like the stealth we have in game already, permanent, but with slowed movement(though Ninja will be far faster).
It lets you avoid detection from enemies and players.

Ninja do NOT have burst from stealth like Rogues in other games.

Well they already did it with MNK. A real monk is supposed to not engage in displays of grandeur but here they are with super bright show-off weapons. The factof the matter is that the appearance doesn't affect gameplay and monsters don't alert to lights. What you're basically asking for in conjunction with this is for no ninja to glamour over their AF with bright colors. You know people will do that. If you don't like the glow, glamour over it with the base relic.

It appears that they may get some sort of stun to a weaponskill while in stealth if you watch one of the videos released. I believe we also don't know that it will be permanent yet.

For the people countering the concern of a crazy bright glow, would there be anything wrong with a dark black or other sort of subtle\stealth like tone of glow?

Glows, yet you could imagine it "blending in with the shadows" for those of us who are picky gremlins \(^_^).

the problem is what is and what is not allowed to be realistic?

i mean as a tank i shouldn't be tanking i should be dodging getting cleaved and hit is a bad thing.

realistically how can monsters just magically appear in front of me and there be unlimited?

or we never have to eat sleep or use the bathroom?

now i am not saying since some things are unrealistic nothing should be, i am just saying while we have some realistic things it's ok that some things don't make sense like a stealthy ninja with a obvious weapon.

Ninja: Destroying your immersion since always.

A tiny lala tanking a big ass dragon = definitely not realistic.

relics only glow when you unsheathe them, so ninja just need to keep them sheathed, while stealthing...

If ninja gets an invisible spell it would make the whole character invisible including weapon.
