Repairing rings, neck, etc...with NPC

Maybe i am missing something, if so forgive me. It appears as though the repair NPC does not repair neck, wrist or ring items. It has never been available when i have tried anyway. What is the reason for this? I haven't been having much luck finding repairs lately when shouting in town, sometimes i just pay the NPC. I can not repair these items though. It is slightly annoying as i don't want to be forced to have to seek out another player. I am happy to accept that i can't repair an item 100% with NPC but it dosen't seem fair that i can not repair all of my gear that way.

Frankly I don't think these items should be subject to durability at all... but that's just me.

I don't think I have ever repaired a ring, necklace or earring in my entire real life.

I do it every day in FFXIV.

In the real world, you'd just take it to a jeweler and have them repair it. Actually that is kind of exactly what happens in game too. ^^

So there is no good reason why these items can not be repaired at the NPC? Did Square just forget about them?

I wouldnt say that SE forgot about them, Rings and other accessory slots have the potential to up your characters stats a good bit, because they are not class dependant and they are a very optional part of your character it would make sense that the NPC dosnt repair them. They have to be made so that means you made them or bought them, so just fix them or pay for them to get fixed.

The stats of rings etc. stay in effect even if the item is broken. No real point in repairing it all the time unless you want to keep all of your equipment shiny.

Really? lol then why do they take damage at all? lol, that's good to know thanks.

Any gear in a damaged state provides less of whatever stats can be "starred" if the item is HQ. For rings it would be defense, magic defense, and evasion. The stat boni remain. So if your armor is damaged you will take less damage. If your weapon or tool s damaged you will fight / craft / gather poorly.

Prediction:

SE will remove durability loss for accessories just like they did for undergarments. Easier fix than making the repair NPC be able to fix them and will be welcomed by all.

my only high craft is goldsmith and i dont even want to deal with accessory damage....though i dont like durability in general.
