What class do YOU play in PVP?
-
Summoner and Scholar... though outside of PVP my main class progression-wise is Bard followed by Summoner, and it's Bard and Dragoon that I'm buying Hellwolf gear for even though I don't PVP with them. Got lvl 34 last night so I'm finally able to equip some of the stuff I bought many ranks ago before I capped on Wolfmarks.
Generally I start as Summoner because I can wreak the most havoc on that class. If I join a team with no healers or just one, I'll usually go SCH and do well enough there, but if I get a party that is too busy chasing around their own lone targets out of range of the objective and can't be bothered to go after the one target in a group I mark/announce as being the main interrupter of my healing spells- the way I look at it is I queued in as a DPS and I can sure as hell swap back to being a DPS. It's not too often I get a party that bad though where everyone's treating it as their own one-vs-one PVP encounter and expecting me to chase them out of range of the flag to heal them. But sometimes I will go on 'healer strike' and only do SMN when I've had enough.

I haven't PvP'd a lot yet, but I'd only go with Monk since I don't really like any of the other classes. ;\
-
I play as Paladin mostly but go White Mage if my team has some tanks and not enough healers.
-
Call me weird but I like to go as GLA or MRD. Works extremely well and I have the versatility to adapt to multiple situations with the added plus of extreme burst damage ^_^

I can understand how you you would play as a marauder, but I'm wondering how gladiator works. Are extra cross class skills worth losing some very good job abilities like Cover and Spirits Within?
-
Well, from r1-r35 i did strictly SCH. Loved it in FL for being able to keep my party alive while killing (clericstance) anyone who tried to 1v1 me. And in WD SCH was damn near unkillable if you did not have a well coordinated team. I did PLD for a bit then went to MNK to try something with alittle bit more......punch to it and hit harder then my PLD. However, i have since went back to PLD after respecing all my points into STR and slapping on some STR accessories. Now my PLD is great, most people completely ignore me which is all the time i need to take down a mage or 2 before they catch on. Also started using SCH again and slapped on some VIT accessories, nothing better then surviving a melee's LB then Lustrating back to full hp.

I do miss not having cover and Spirits but most of the time those skills don't help as much as I would have liked them too. HG is amazing but most of the time you're dead either way and with the delay it has... The amount of times I've tried to use it and It activating afterwards is stupid.
I'm still experimenting right now on the cross class abilities but having B4B / Internal release / Raging strikes and FoF ready to pop for a huge burst helps tremendously, healers don't stand a chance since I can still stun lock and dps at the same time, Other skills like straight shot give a 10% crit rate increase is nice to have too and having invigorate ready for when I need to play Mario Kart with a healer is awesome.
Don't get me wrong, It's a big gamble but for my play-style (Agressive) It's working great!
Try it out!

Yea, with the removal of Cleric Stance (RIP) my Sch game has been dull.. Spamming Wolves Den way before Frontlines I learned to become a very aggressive healer solely because of that skill and I feel that was apart of my game. I mean I love Sch but the fun doesnt seem there anymore so now I lean more towards Smn. I Drg sometimes but I'm waiting for Wolves Den to become the thing again so I can spend more time on Drg.

Full on whm with vit acc gears

Depends on the situation. Sometimes I love going on my WHM, sometimes not. Basically, it comes down to if there's other good healers in the party. If I'm the only one, or there's only two total on team A or C, I don't really like it because I become the number one punching bag for up to 6-7 enemies.
For DPS, I've done bard, summoner and black mage. Hated black mage at first and thought I'd only ever go bard or summoner, but after trying black mage more, I love it. While summoner definitely has more instant cast spells, and the constant damage from the pets, the black mage has some interesting tools, especially tools for getting away and/or crowd control.

I play both WHM and SMN. Depends what our team will need. Both are pretty fun ^^

Currently WHM but I plan on switching to PLD once I get to 50.

BLM because Sleep, Freeze, and Lathergy is a powerful game changer when used right.
Sleep ALL the casters!
Lathergy ALL the melees!
Swiftcast-> Freeze/bind -> Sleep that WHM/SCH thats runing away!
-
I play SMN/BLM/PLD/WHM depending on the situation and what I'm in the mood to play.
-WHM if there's only 1 healer in the party; won't switch if there are no other healers.
-BLM only if I know my opponents aren't good. Good or premade teams = a useless BLM no matter what anyone says.
-PLD if there are no tanks in my party.
-SMN whenever I feel like my team's dps is trash.
-
I mostly play whm if party is short on heals or dragoon if not. Its fun trashing the random black mages, summoners, and bards that i run into sometimes who are trying to solo cap our flags and stuff . Though most times these three jobs generally run away if they encounter a melee one on one unless its a bard up at mid in which case he will try futilely to bait me to run to the edge so he can knock back me off the map as if I'm not expecting it.

This. I hate majority of the pvp gear so you won't see me wearing it specifically so they show up on the forums. <_<

Monk. Because I love creating havoc.
-
If there's enough healers in the party, I'll go as smn or mnk.
(If there's no melee and I'm in alliance B, definitely mnk. Need dat lb)
If lacking healers, I prefer Sch.
=3= Though I really hate when I had to be the only healer.
Too much of an easy target.
-
Always Whitemage, because i only have Whitemage. ;)

Same here. I queue as SMN and if there are 0 healers I'll swap to SCH if another goes healer as well but otherwise if I see other party members have lvl 50 healer and are unwilling to switch too, I'm not going to solo heal A/C because 9 times out of 10 it's pointless- when you're playing with 7 party members who don't get why 1 healer isn't enough at the flags you've already lost. They're just going to run around aimlessly and not protect you from getting focused down at the flag and probably won't be in the circle anyway.
3 healers is ideal for flag teams (A/C) but if I swap to SCH to be a third healer on one of those teams and one of the two healers then goes DPS I go right back to SMN as well. Had some awesome runs as SCH but a lot of the good players I know have stopped because they're sick of the scrubs who have little PVP experience and spend more time insulting each other in Alliance chat than fighting the other teams.

At first I ran with my DRG but soon after I started Frontlines, using that class was pointless so I switched to BLM and pretty much focus on any healers while trying to avoid tanks.

Ahmose! Hop on our Mumble when you can. 8D

Should probably just say "while avoiding other dps focus" in general lol. Casters more than any other class have to stay attached to their healers at all times and NEVER go off alone as they are quite arguably the easiest class to solo kill for tanks/melee dps with no support. Its why I never understood the logic of a blm trying to ninja cap an op solo. Whats the point when you cant defend it solo against any other class/job? The good blm's though that never stray from their healers and have good healers keeping an eye out for them so they dont get picked off by tanks/melee can put up devastating damage I will admit and are a force to be reckoned with. I personally don't like to play it cause of that extra bit of healer dependency though since I solo queue frequently (unless im queuing with a healer i trust).

I play Dragoon and White Mage. Though mostly White Mage now as the other players seem to never want to heal.
It was difficult healing at first but I eventually figured it out, and now it's tough to kill me when I'm with my group or one on one against another person.
I find that I'm just as good as a dragoon because I know how to squish and interrupt the crap out of annoying Black mages and scolars and scolars' fairies. |3

Just started playing FL, tried out PLD, DRG, and BRD. Doing better as a BRD, so I might be sticking with that. Been thinking about trying GLD dur to all the cross class buffs, don't have MRD lvled unfortunately so can't try that.
