Suggestion to fix the Sycrus Tower and "Fishing for In Progress" problem.

I can only assume that this is what people are doing. I can't really think of any other reason why people withdraw so damn much from the Syrcus Tower Queue. It's pretty ridiculous to have to battle the Duty Finder to successfully get into one for so long.

Can't it just be made like Frontlines where everyone who hits commence would get put into the instance (Would probably be at least 20 people most of the time), then the remaining slots can be randomly filled by people currently in the queue...this would save so much frustration, and time.

It wouldn't work because parties would collapse without tanks if they are formed without them and I would not expect pugs to be able to fight without tanks.

And if you get a party that has zero healers and one doesn't show for a while, well GG.

My thoughts exactly. The frontlines q system is set up just for that, where a tank really isn't "neccesary", needed but you could start without one. ST on the other hand, well all jobs are needed. Fishing for the in progress sucks, as everyone want's to just walk in on the boss that drops their stuff. I have it checked on my DF, if it pops, cool. If not I don't re-q, I just accept, and usually end up getting trolled by the fisher. It is what it is. There is no stopping it or a fix. If there were, we might have seen it by now as this has been going on since before ST in CT and other duties. I mean there is nothing better than getting that "in-progress" duty pop on a daily roulette and only having to take care of the final boss for your bonus. Been goin on, gonna continue to happen.

You can most certainly do the first trash pull without any tanks. You don't have to fight everything at once.

And the rest of the dungeon?

I don't think I've ever had a wait for any class mid-instance that was longer than 2-3 minutes. If the wait to fill those empty slots is shorter than often absurd time you sit there hitting commence then it seems like a win in my book. I'd much rather wait 5 minutes for a couple slots to fill than hit commence for 20.

If you don't get replacements in the 5+min it takes to do the first trash pull, it was a dead day anyways.

Then it's pointless to jump in early and see that a healer or tank will never come.

Half the time I run ST tanks don't know what they're doing anyway so it wouldn't really make much of a difference. Everyone knows WHM tank is best tank anyway

I'm building Nexus lights so I queue tank for ST =/ shit takes forever to pop on tank this week fresh/in progress all same. But I got my sand, won't see ST till next week.

They should just put a short lockout timer for withdrawing I think. Not 30 minutes like the penalty is for leaving, but something to discourage people from withdrawing over and over to try and get an in progress.

Like maybe if you que, you can cancel with no penalty if it is before the duty pops up, however if you withdraw after the duty pops for entry you get a 3-5 minute lockout. It would discourage this behavior.
