Can't wait for Pure White. ^^Quote:
In anticipation of future updates, a new dye category has been added to the dyeing interface.
will these apply to chocobos too?
From the patch notes:
"In anticipation of future updates, a new dye category has been added to the dyeing interface."
...so in short, we can't get them yet.
Was hoping it to being a secondary dye.
Prepare all of your gil/mats/whatever, these are gonna be super duper rare as we know when it comes to fashion-related things.
Considering they are marked as green... you can bet it will be a multi star craft at the least.
[sarcasm] God forbid the development team should make some things ""difficult"" to obtain, it's not like we're playing a game or anything. How dare they?! [/sarcasm]
Most things in this game are spoon-fed to us with minimal effort.
It would seem that a lot of people seem to forget this is a game. And for the most part, games offer hurdles or challenges to overcome, in this case you could involve the crafting/gathering classes.
As a lot of people have worked hard to gain 3-star crafters and gatherers this would be a fantastic utilisation of these.
Very excited for the pure white, jet black and the metallic silver. The metallic gold, however, is hideous. It's way too orangey to be a nice gold.
If I were you I'd put my gils back my pockets, they are tagged as "untradable" so you can't sell them. Probably something you'll buy with some sort of currency, my guess is Allied Seal.
I'd be happy if the pigments could be gathered from unspoiled nodes, and the dyes unlocked by level 50 DoH.
You're missing the point. Gating things that inflict ACTUAL changes upon gameplay is fine. Gating things that have absolutely zero impact upon gameplay, like dye, or another popular topic, AF aug's, is wrong. It's purely visual. It has 0 impact on what you or anyone else does. Creating artificial demand by trying to gate things like this is, well, dumb. Plain and simple. If Yoshi wants crafters to be relevant, why not make it so you don't get gear from Raids and Primals, you get a drop that has to be CRAFTED into a weapon/armor/etc?
Gating COLORS of all the things in the world is atrocious. You want to make those 3* crafters feel important? Make them the only guys who can make new tier weapons when Coil 3 is released.
Most?
Pretty much everything they've added for Vanity is either insanely expensive to make or so rare as not to be anything other than a myth.
SE caters to the richest of the playerbase... aka the top 1-2% or so with most of what they do. Other games make it far easier to get similar things, and know what? It didnt ruin those games. What a concept.
Go get me a Coeurl Swimsuit.... Show me how "easy" that is compared to other games that simply let you buy casual wear for cheap since it has no combat stats or real value.
The recent housing debacle just more proof of it......
Agreed. I think some of these simple things like the new vanity gear (swimsuits, nightgowns, and probably these new dyes) being so gated that only ultra rich people who craft (or gil buyers) can purchase them is ridiculous.
And how long did it take Arena Net to make dyes and relics account wide after they were introduced? Exactly. Things take time to be doctored to more reasonable standards. Remember when Arena Net said they were never going to make dyes account wide? Give it time; Square-Enix will come around soon.
And moot point arguing in a thread about new dyes that are going to be un-tradeable so no one can make a profit off them. I doubt they're even crafted, and like someone said they may either come from Hunts (which everything on the hunt vendor aside from that vanity armor which is ugly is cheap) for about 10 allied seals per dye, or from the Golden Saucer.
So really; please, continue hating a company that managed to do the unthinkable by tearing down an entire game and rebuilding it; brand-spanking new, within just a year.
My armor's going to look so pretty.
I can't wait for that pure white dye. I hope they somehow add the new white and black to chocobo dying. I ended up switching from snow white to lotus because the snow white just wasn't bright enough, my chocobo looked dirty against the white in some of the glamors I use.
Sorry Soot, I thought you were the one I was looking for.. I'm leaving you for Jet..
It's not you, it's me.
Heya NorthenLadMSP ^^
As Cidel wrote, once you have completed all beast tribes to full ranks/reputation (5 Tribes), you will unlock a series of bonus quests from your respective GC IIRC.
The last one in that chain, with the nice story, gives you this.
*I felt like Kano, but no, you can't shoot lasers yet ;)
Enjoy!
I am wondering if it's already possible to reach these colors by chocobo feeding.
Also the new colors are AWESOME. I can't decide if I want to go with the new white or black.
I first went snow white and turned to soot black. But now I need to find out again.
:o
Maybe it's for the best :p, don't want them to rush the gold saucer and end up releasing a disapointing feature...
On topic, It's nice to see dye that change the texture of the fabric.
Metallic silver looks nice on a lot of things, I hope they'll release more metallic colors later.
Please tell me where furniture has an impact on gameplay, yet it requires a higher crafting skill.
Please tell me where Augmented AF impacts gameplay.
Please tell me where Courel Briefs impact gameplay.
Just because it doesn't provide a numeric addition to your 'attribute pool', does not mean that it can't be difficult to obtain.
It adds value and worth to crafters AND to a high demand item.
The item is already showing up as a green icon, that means it's going to be crafter based and most likely a difficult synth or difficult to obtain items, this is how crafters are valued in FFXIV, if you don't like it suck it up.
I hope this means they'll be adding dyes like this next: http://cdn.images.pistonheads.com/ai.../1713943-1.jpg
Anyone can tear something down and rebuild it in short order, but that doesnt mean its better.
They make constant claims that the servers cant handle any sort of additional strain when people make simple requests for UI additions or the like, and that things like alphabetizing a list is "difficult".... <boggles>
You've got to be kidding me....
This cake needed more time in the oven before they pushed it to market, plain and simple.
Really don't like how this game panders to the richy rich crafting people when it comes to vanity items. Why not just give them the ability to craft useful high item level items comparable to the end game (at that time) gear?
Instead we have a fairly SMALL pool of good looking vanity items and many are trapped behind the wall of effery called "crafting folks using the MB" which leads directly to simple stuff like Coeurl Beach gear that ... I NEVER see anyone wear because no one on my sever makes them and the ONE I have seen on the MB is being listed as 8mill ... with zero history so literally only one person bothered to make it and thought putting it up for 8mil was a good idea -_-
Hell, I don't even think it looks all that great but if I can make one some day I WILL glam it just cause I have never seen another character in that ...
Same fore the new Mogblades, I have never seen one go up on the MB on my server though I have seen a few people pay 2mill ish for the mats for it (checked other servers with my alts and it seems like my server is just strange :/ ).
Would hate for NEW dyes to become like most any other vanity item on my server that are restricted to star ranked crafts. Hope it's not trade-able and it's gotten through the use of hunt seals.
Also, as for GW2 .. i left that game a loong time ago but one thing I DID like about it was how it handled dyes. Sure, you could spend an arm and a leg to buy the blackest black or whitest white ... but you could use that color FOREVER on w/e gear and never have to rebuy it for that character again(I hear you now have a shared color libary with ALL your characters and the same goes for skins ... good shit GW2! still not gonna play you again though ..). AND you could dye more than one part of your gear (none of this forced appeal bs ARR has where they limit you to just coloring one part of the gear ... IF you can color it).
I disagree, I love the way the gold looks, though different shades would still be great. I'm way more excited for the pure white, though, since it actually matches the white and white-accented equipment that's already in the game.
The fact that the items are untradeable is interesting, though, and makes it seem unlikely getting them will be tied to crafting...maybe they'll be purchasable with Soldiery tomes or Allied seals, since people will start running out of things to spend those on soon?
You could always, you know, take up crafting yourself Marcella.
If you think you can do better; then by all means, apply for a job with similar settings.
But then again I think you're the kind of person who applies for a job in quantum physics and writes "I do not have a degree in quantum physics." on your application. I bet you have no idea how anything in the gaming industry works.
