That is what the glamor system is for. it tends to fix those type of problems.

Yeah like from all the glow you cant see anything from the weapon anymore. I like glowy effects but this is just too much @,@ Novus was allredy too flashy for my taste

I saw that coming a mile away, what else could they do but add glow, that is the relic weapons entire nitch. i suspect any other ones your whole body will probably glow with it, wouldn't that be fun.

I usually like to keep my look simple, so glowing weapons are usually out, but these are very cool looking. I really like them :o Looking forward to getting mine.

They added some new sunglasses xD Its in patch notes haha

I'd prefer a more tastefully done glow than this over the top glowiness. Recall the titan or allagan weapons, with that sweet glow inlay.

That was some tasteful stuff that let the profile of the weapons shine through as well.

Patch 2.4: Flash is now an all class ability!

I'm loving that WHM shine. @.@

I think all of these look awesome. Everyone going to have their own opinion though. There is a glamor system for a reason.

Those are bright.

I think the best looking Stardust Rod version was the Atma version (when doing the atma/books). It didn't have that stupid "glowing ball of light" around it, but the weapon itself glowed within. It was subtle but cool.

The only "something new" we would get is something like the Atma weapons.
They are still the relict weapons after all (don't expect drastic changes of the weapon model).

I appreciate how the glow effect isn't just light, there are dark clouds in some, sunbeams in others, firefly like lights, circling text...there's a lot of variety here.

I wish they'd add a button to turn off the glow. My noct Shield looked much nicer before it looked radioactive.

The glows in those pictures are different than the "airy" glows around the Zenith, Animus and Novus weapons. Note the Sigil Rings and the fact that the main body of each weapon seem to be glowing.

I quite like them, but I'm still on like... my third myth book lmao. Got bored doing the quest. Just praying to the rng gods for a high-allagan book of healing to drop \o/

I'm just glad it's not yellow or gold or brown or whatever color you wanna call the Thyrus Novus.

I actually like how the SMN book looks. It's got what appears go be electricity or a cloud or something. They all have cool effects goin on.

Although I am afraid this glow is going to cover my Lalas entire body. Haha

Yoshi says a lot of things.

The final product will change the look completely is what Yoshi said and there's at least one more step to go. They aren't wasting time building a fresh model and skin for every upgrade. I'm curious though if the weps themselves at least have a new skin. The glow drowns out the weapon itself so you can't tell.

Also to those saying "didn't Yoshida say it was gonna change?" I'd like to point out two things. One: it's possible he was referring to the step after this (i.e. the step added in patch 2.4). Two: there was a -lot- of backlash over Atma basically being a new coat of paint and an artificial ilvl boost; perhaps the dev team misinterpreted what we were upset about?

Ehh, my Animus has more of purple/lavender tinged color to it. This looks pure-white as far as I can tell. And maybe the specific type of sparkling is changed, dunno about that. Would have to see it in motion.

In the previous Live Letter they said they'll work on implementing stat-less versions of earlier steps in the Zodiac chain so you can glamour over. So you can do it that way.

I'd like to be able to toggle off my own glow as well as others. I can barely see the battle field as is, even with most battle effects off! Every fight is just a huge cluster of cheesey glow effects to the point where you can barley see anything.

I can't really tell if that's the WHM staff or that over there is the staff.... they're way too glowey...
