New battle stances

I'm Acctualy excited for the new combat stances I liked the once we had but it could be coo. What do you guys think they will look like?.......and dat slap emote lol

I'm excited about this as well. i did not expect them to add something like this XD. should be pretty interesting to see the different ones for each job/gender

From the sounds of it though its only going to be while your standing there doing absolutely nothing. The new stance won't be visible during battle which made me lose interest.

"Poses will not change for five seconds after executing auto-attacks or actions such as weapon skills.
* To enjoy these idle poses, auto-sheathing of weapons must be disabled under Character "

So basically sit there and stare at a power ranger pose for a few seconds then move on, woo. <_<

I hope WAR tosses their axe over-shoulder and one-hands it. That...would be too cool.

I'm so excited for this. I might have to change back to Hyur to see this. *hoping for an elegant looking pose with the Gae Bolg* I wish they included pictures.

Any new animation addition is a good one.

Breaking the static repetitive monotony of characters in MMOs is fantastic.

Prior to idle stances it was, it was harder to make a distinction between the similar races, it tends to break it up a bit more now (more individuality).


This addition is great for battles when you're idling waiting for something to happen, breaks it up a bit.

Think of it along the lines of the idle animations, it's there as a quality of life addition, not a "Hey you should think about this very carefully and be VERY aware of it".

It's a quality addition to break up the animation repetition.

I'm still cool with it lol I would rather be happy about something then raging about housing like everyone else.

I'm all for breaking up the cut/paste lookalike stuff for our races. My point though is its for "battle" stances yet we can't use them in battle so all in all not much is going to be changed. While I can't say for your server/DF group, I very rarely see people sit around town, or even in front of a boss, in battle stance. Most times its just sit around for a few seconds for buffs, then mad rush into fighting.

And yeah, I'm not raging on this either lol... I'm glad they are adding things into the game, small extras like this, just odd they do it in a way that's going to get very little limelight.

You seem to be confused as to their purpose.


These are most likely new 'idle' poses essentially, such as a dragoon resting their polearm upright on the ground whilst you wait, or a warrior slinging their axe onto their back.


These are "waiting for combat" stances, not inside combat stances.



Think of the 10-15 seconds you sometimes wait for a boss/fight to start, this is essentially for that reason.

PLD pose is shared with all DoH/DoL as well (since they're all 1H tools I guess), still doesn't do it justice, as he does a magnificent baton wrist twirl with his sword before settling into the pose.
