Next relic is "Nexus". Soulglazing ahead!
To detract from all the personal housing negativity, I'll post my likes about the patch:
- Guaranteed Oils/Sands of Time drops in Syrcus Tower - What? Guaranteed?!? That's crazy good!
- When using Return from the main menu or cross hotbar, recast time will now be displayed - Finally, it's back! I've been missing this since they redesigned the micro menu months ago!
- Two new UI scaling increments (90% and 110%) have been added - Been waiting for this! Sometimes 100% is too big, but 80% is too small. 90% will be great!
- Additional places we can use the "Try On" subcommand (such as examined characters and our inventory)
- Additional places we can use the "Search for Item" subcommand (such as our inventory)
- On maps and minimaps, character icons will now be displayed with priority over other icon types - FINALLY! I know this sound like a small quality of life change, but for me, it's HUGE. When questing with my husband, I often look on the minimap to see where he's run off to. Often, he's standing at a quest giver, but I can't see his dot on my mini-map because quest icons are covering it. With character icons taking priority, I will no longer be constantly asking him, "Where are you?" Thanks SE!!!
NEW MAIL MOOGLE QUESTS :D :D :D
Also really curious about what that new dye category's all about.
Carrier Missions!
More poses to make the world feel even more alive!
"Players can now ride mounts within residential districts." /huzzah
I also can't wait to slap some kneecaps.
*edit* And yes! Idle animations with unsheathed weapons!! >:D
And more moogle quests!
Honestly the only other thing I wanted outta this patch was more Hildy.. I know he's only in bigger patches though.. ; ;
I have to admit I am actually quite happy about smaller things like the weather forecast and teleport UIs. It may be just me, but I can't count the number of times ive ported to blackbrush instead of bentbranch or vice versa. And the lack of text alignment at the skywatcher made me flinch,
Man something tells me that is Yoshi logs in the game he will experience what's it's like to be elite mark when hunt were implemented
No changes to the drop rate of mats in dungeon. Disappointing.
But the small changes they are adding are nice.
However, the only thing that might really interest me is Ramuh Ex adding to DF.
Necessary for all patches, in every game, across all genres, everywhere:

Anyway, I'm pretty pleased. Housing "meh"-ness aside the sands/oils and Ramuh change are quite welcome.
Nexus/Soulglazing: Let the stoner puns begin!
Moogle Mail: I hope we get a Mognet related prize when they finish this sidestory!
FATEs: Now with more RNG!
GC/FC: lolwut? Where's GC related stuff? Where's my GC 1st LT boost?!?
Housing: 2 new wards, price resets, and players can buy solo houses! SE deserves their unannounced bonus emote for this... also makes me wanna try to move to a newbie world for cheaper houses all around...
Housing & Mounts: As if the wards didn't really feel small enough already lol. But hey, I can AFK in front of the house with my Dalamud DRG Chocobo now!
Battle: Ramuh EX Solo DF! Ramuh Ring Buff! PvP Skill auto-equip! Cleric Stance kicked from PvP!
UAT/Sands/Oils: Time to farm the crap outta CT2! And Coil2 for those there!
Items: Nexus! And Zodiac Glass! Hope it's a pint! Rimless Glasses! Nerd Glasses! Yukata Strage!
CRP Housing Craft: Simplification!
Crafting Shortcuts: More simplification!
Others: Nexus Achievement! NPC stuff! New Duty Sounds! Controller Retainer ease... I think? I don't play with controller... Hairstyle changes! But no new ones! Saving appearance from character select! PvP Menu changes! Teleport Revamp! Return Recast! Weather stuff! Frontlines stuff! Chat buff? Other message adjustments! Retainer selling interface adjusted! Dye category! Shop window stuff! AFK now different from AFM! UI scaling improvement!-(Wait, when the hell was this even put in in the first place?!?) Mognet Delivery changes! Item Comparison! More 'try on' areas! Search inventory! Link added! Hug/Slap!-(When do we get /facepalm?) Changepose additions! Dismount adjustments! Visual Alert!-(Complete with system limitations!) New config settings! And bug fixes!
We're all forgetting the two biggest changes on the patch notes, two things that literally make the whole patch on their own -
* You can now remove that freaking terrible on-screen warning that up till now you would have been literally CONSTANTLY spammed with
* Two word's, Comparison Tooltips. why were these not in in the first place? who knows, but it's going to be so great that they are now.
I know I can't wait to log in after this patch.
Yes, housing aside I'm still looking forward to everything else in this patch. So many nice additions and changes.
I'm happy with the small things..not too happy about cleric stance being taken away from pvp..but other than that. I'm quite excited.
/slap
Haha! :D
Sounds waveforms look cool too!
"The background music for Pharos Sirius has been adjusted."
Oh really now
I'm excited for the new weapon poses!
Quote:
The Change Pose (/changepose) emote has been adjusted as follows:
One additional unsheathed weapon idle pose has been added.
Use the /changepose emote with your weapon drawn, and your character will assume a new pose while holding his/her weapon.
There are separate male and female poses for each class.
Poses will not change for five seconds after executing auto-attacks or actions such as weapon skills.
* To enjoy these idle poses, auto-sheathing of weapons must be disabled under Character Configuration -> Control Settings -> Character.
I was kinda hoping /slap and /hug would prompt a confirmation window to the receiver of the emote (like Trade does), but it seems that won't be the case.
Really not looking forward to the emote harassment.
I wonder if the increased sand/oil availability from ST will reduce the strain on hunts.
Probably not for a while since they're still limited to one per week whereas you can obtain an unlimited amount from hunts. So you might see less people hunting marks on Tuesday, but after that it'll be back to business as usual once they get their weekly sand/oil. It's still a nice change though. Options are always good.
Just a few of my thoughts on this patch and why I'm not excited by it now the truth is out about "personal housing".
Basically, there's nothing "personal" about it. They've just copy/pasted FC housing - including the pricing. According to the notes, the pricing will fall and eventually half in 30 days time. Which means that, by then, all the best plots of land will be taken by the rich kids, leaving hardly anything (if anything at all) for anyone else. I also don't see why prices would fall significantly (especially by that much) when they haven't in the past.
Oh, for those not familiar with the term, FC means Free Company, which is what they're calling Guild in this game for some stupid reason. So I'm just going to refer to them as guilds to avoid confusion.
Personally, all I wanted was affordable housing, in actual housing districts (not related to guilds), with race related housing (by which I mean sizing). And I've pretty much given-up on that ever being included here.
I've already mentioned the ridiculous pricing, but what also disappoints me is that they stuck personal and guild housing together. If I want to relax at my personal house and meet personal players, I don't a bunch of guilds running around disturbing us. For me, owning a personal house is more for roleplay reasons, and just feeling like my little lalafell has a home of her own. It's not meant to be connected with guildss.
And by having the houses available to both personal and guild buying, it makes it even less likely that anyone will get the size housing they want as they've now got even more competition over it.
It took Lalafull (my guild) less than a month to save for our guild house, but that was exceptional. Most guilds take several months. I still don't know how we managed it. But hey, we're a guild of lalafell, so we're just amazing. ;)
They'll add more housing wards in the future, which is all well and good. But no one wants the damn things in the state they're in. They're not personal at all. They're just guild houses listed as being owned by a single person. It's lazy ass bullshit on SquareEnix's part.
And what's worse is that they not only know what they're players want, but they promised it to them and then didn't deliver.
Now, to touch on the race related housing. I don't care if wards are restricted to certain races or not. But what I would absolutely ove is if we could have race related house sizing. As a lalafell, I can't reach a damn thing in our guild house. I'd at least like to have lalafell sized furniture in my personal lalafell home. That's the dream.
Anyways, enough with housing. I've no interest it in anymore after this piss poor attempt. I'll just stick with my private chamber within my guild house.
I'm glad that Amon and Xande in Syrcus Tower will now always yield Unidentified Allagan Tomestone and the Oil of Time, and apparently the Sands of Time after the Xande fight as well.
Though they were apparently meant to be adding the Sands of Time to Crystal Tower and I've not seen anything about that. :/
I quite like that the teleport interface has been changed. And the new item comparison thing is nice.
I don't expect the /hug emote to work anywhere near as good as people will be hoping. But I'm still glad we can try it out. And I'm quite happy we can /slap idiot players now too.
Hoping that the new battle poses will be decent.
Overall, another disappointing patch for me. Here's hoping they fix personal housing by 2.4, not to mention add some decent glamour gear (especially head gear), and some nice new hair styles. Looking forward, but also dreading, Hildibrand's voice acting. I hope they find someone perfect for the job! :3
I'm not sure about UATs/oils/sands, the translations seem to be slightly off:
ENG: The treasure coffers that appear upon () defeating Amon and Xande in Syrcus Tower will now always yield the above items.
GER: <the same>
What I read: Amon's and Xande's chest will now have 1 equipment part, 1 UAT and 1 oil
What I think: Amon's and Xande's chest will now have 1 equipment part, 1 UAT or 1 oil
ENG: The coffers that appear after defeating Xande in Syrcus Tower will now always yield two pinches.
GER: Here it gets interesing because it is coffers in english but just coffer in german. Also the german text reads more like its about the bonus chest that does not spawn everytime.
That was my initial thought. However so long as soldiery remains capped, players will be limited in the number of things they can buy which need oil/sand. Even if you cap soldiery, that's at most one item per week. I'm expecting demand to drop slightly once players have unweathered the gear they currently have as there will be no need to rush for seals to get logs etc.
Agreed that they're still a great source of myth though, but SE basically throw it at you with duty finder in its current state.
Did not expect they add the /slap emote, I only remember the confirm we got is /hug :D
A side detail and perhaps I missed it, but I was hoping to see that the npc cast effect of 'heavy' has been removed. Sadly not :(
