No Patch pre-patch notes yet again..

Well most people in the rest of the world like a little more disclosure of information...
Since beta almost every patch we have not had early or on time patch notes...
SE I love this game but you could work on the disclosure of information better..
In the years of ffxi it was the same way please stop repeating the mistakes this is a different culture and game. People would like to read and know whats going on in the rest of the world.

Like many people have said many times in many of these threads, prepatch notes on major patches only, ie, 2.1,2.2,2.3 and never has there been one for mid major patch. /endthread

These aren't mistakes. They're trying to prevent certain kinds of abuse of knowledge, especially when it comes to server economies. Clearly they're adding things to the game that could have lead to unfair practices on the MB, and they're trying to limit that by not announcing the changes before the servers go down.

We got them during the maintenance, as usual for middle patches. In fact, I remember threads popping up asking the exact same things when 2.35 was around the corner, lol. We only get preliminary patch notes for the huge patches, the middle patch notes come during the maintenance.

PRE patch notes, as in before the patch is coming.

Remember the market board spikes with materia combination from a recent patch? Generalized patch notes are given, then detailed notes arrive during maintenance. And you can be certain to expect maintenance tomorrow at some point for something that was missed/exploited from this patch.

And you know full well people are going to exploit *something,* because some people just can't help but be dicks to others for their own satisfaction.

Too much crying going on.

Be patient.

.x5 and .x8 patch notes have always been put up during the maintenance. Same with Hotfixes that don't get their own patch notes, they are put in the updates thread during the maintenance that implements the fixes. Only the Major 2.x0 patches get Preliminary patch notes, and even those are missing a lot of necessary and are nowhere near complete.

Seriously people, enjoy the anticipation a bit. You have 8 hours to kill. Go read a book, see a movie, hug a friend, whatever.

Seriously why do people keep asking about early relase patch notes?

Only the large patches have received pre-release notes and even then, they are preliminary notes that dont disclose things like items and receipes and other pertinent information, so people can't prepare or take advtantage, esp taking into account different time zones. Putting notes up during maintenance means that everyone starts on an even basis.

I tried my best to prep for it. Just hope we have enough gil in the CC for all our FC members to buy houses (There's only like 6 of us). We worked hard to earn the gil in the past couple months. Everyone knew this was coming. Good Luck to all!^^

And the patch notes will probably be up in an hour or two.

Touché! :) I -think- (not entirely sure) that there is an RL equivalent out there...

40 minutes in, no patch notes. This is upsetting. Usually we get something by now.

They said they wouldn't post notes until after maintenance began on a japanese thread

It's just something that most people are used too from other games. Nearly every other MMO releases patch notes for every patch, no matter how small they are. Square-Enix has never really followed that, which I do and don't like (do because it's cool to not have everything known beforehand, don't because...well the exact same reason).
(And then you have ArenaNet who just stealth-nerfs everything and pretends it was always that way)

Although my crew has done their best to bear through the wait, there has been no sign of patch notes as of yet. Moral is starting to run dry and I am constantly doing what I can to keep their chins up in this time of crisis. It is my hope that our minds can be eased before the night is through. Only time will tell.

Its called the waiting game^^ if you can't wait for this how will you ever wait for more fates to pop :P

Yeah it being a 110 ring is really nice. Gonna have to put in some farming.
