Market Board - Why people buy the same items?

Hello everyone,

I can't help it but wonder why are there many cases where people buy items when they only need one.. I'll give you guys one example where this happens:

Why would one want to buy 4x Sailor Shirts for skin reasons? This is not the only item i see being bought in big batchs like this.. can someone enlighten me for what reason people do this?

Maybe buying for people in their FC. Maybe they have a collection of sailor shirts. Maybe they don't want to wear the same one each day. Maybe trying to get the Village People back together and needed a few extra shirts.

Multiple colors (it can be dyed, can't it?), gifts for friends, attempting to change the price.

If an item falls cheap due to undercutters on MB, I'll usually always buy all the cheap ones out and relist for profit

Hmm maybe its for some of those reasons but I still see some items being bought that are a little fishy..

Maybe it's 99% certain that the shirts are for the Village People but i've seen other items being bought a bit above of the average prices which they normally sell.. unless the Village People have a very big wardrobe! I'll post another one if I find any.

Is there any place you can "recycle" NQ gears for gil or desynthesis or any particular reason you would want to keep crappy gear for any reason? (besides spiritbonding)

Depends on the gear. Crafting leves, GC supply missions, Ixali turn-ins. Profit may not be part of the consideration with those, what with leveling and achievements and birdy points. I wouldn't think desynthing would make much sense, since it's usually cheaper to make your own, but some people have more money than sense.

Certain things I'll buy to desynth because I have the money and it'll take too much effort to run around collecting all the parts. Or the class I'm desynthing on is not leveled enough to make it myself etc.

For the Glamour? You can glamour each piece to only one set of the gear so if someone want's to use the "same" shirt on multiply jobs / clases he / she would need multiply copies of the same item ...

As someone mentioned earlier i would imagine it is so they can remove all of the cheap undercut items and relist them for more gil to make a profit. You'll probably notice the next 3 - 4 will be listed by the same retainer at the same price.

Based off the information provided from the image, its most likely the person bought it for friends/family/FC-members. The person bought the items at a higher price than the average prices later on down the line.

I do buy multiples of certain items for FC/family/Friends all the time, especially glamour items.

Buy it for alt like myself or friends, no surprise.

Same as Gyshal Greens or so. Sometimes, people are just too lazy to go out there and buy it. I'm not going to lie, I do it all the time, buying overpriced stuff cause I'm too lazy to walk a few minutes here and there.
