Golden Saucer: New class concept?

It would be neat if they added in a class/job that interacted with the Golden Saucer. Now this idea might be out to lunch but I was reminded of the suave guy above when I was thinking of running around Eorzea looking for people to play Triple Triad with. Having a class that was all about the gambling and chance and the like, an identifiable gear set would be a nice way to show other players you are interested in card battles or gives a bonus to the chance system (like the harvesting skills) when playing slots, etc.

I'll try and actually work out skills and more details on how it might actually function in the game. Golden Saucer related skills and skills you can actually use and take to combat. I was just throwing this idea out there to see what you guys thought and to remind me to continue working on it.

Hhm it would be nice to have a class outside of the Tank,Mage,Melee,Crafter concept.

Maybe some sort of Musician ^^

honestly, just having something to identify you as being a person interested in specififc things like this thread is based on. i would definitely +1 this, even if its only skill "chalenge" meaning you start a card battle. winning exp for beating the other player, leveling, not as an indicator of how good your cards are, but as an indicator for how many people you beat.

it only has one downside, which i think would be easy to live with. for lowbies, it would be obvious by looking at their gear or their level. this could mean they just started, or they could npot have good cards, and the high levels could target these people for easy wins. it is s0omething that could easily be worked around. i think a special class would be a good idea

Or .... they can just make a icon that you can toggle on and off when you want to play cards.

that wont be anywhere near as fun. while it isnt a necessarily easy task, its not too difficult that it cant happen

Back when I used to play on Gameknot (an online chess site) your rating was determined not just by raw win/loss, but by how strong the players you won/lost against were. You could dodge this issue by making there be little to no incentive to win against low-level players.

Yeh i meant something like a bard , but as skills ull get music notes and instruments^^ then you can compose your own music , and as you level up, you get more instruments and notes^^

I would like to see a Corsair style class that can buff and debuff, but have the effects be somewhat random. There's not enough randomness and chance in this game. Everything's jump rope: programmed for memorization. Which I find freakishly boring. Throw us some curveballs.

Kind of related, just the other day I was thinking I'd love to have a unisex Setzer costume. Gimme!

Make Bards able to play certain sound files as an emote. And add a Dancer class that grants buffs depending on the dance emote they're using. Then we can hold concerts!

Sorry for the necro bump but I was wondering, now that we have seen the inside of the Mandervile Golden Saucer, if anyone else is thinking thy might do this. It would be a neat way to track your "cred" level kinda like the PvP level in PvP. Even if it is a separate thing and linked to the Choco Racing and Triple Triad game.

Also, who thinks we wont be getting Choco Racing until 3.0 just for the fact that it will "be a different chocobo, separate from the companion choco" something we get to raise and buff stats on our own. And the raising system has already been said to not be coming until 3.0 and Ishguard is available because of the whole female choco restriction thing.
