Seeing that I wont be getting into SCoB any time soon, which would be the most efficient method of getting Oils of Time: running ST over and over again, or just doing hunts?
ST: takes 20-30 minutes to clear and about a 30% drop rate? but also have to compete with others for the Oil.
Hunts: Some what boring, but can also finish my Atma grind in the mean time. Also, means I will have less seals for Sands of Time.
Advice?

I did ST for my oils and did hunts for sands. Worked pretty nicely for me. If you happen to get all sanded out, then you could just use the hunts to finish off oils you need.

Hunts beat the pants off of ST, in my opinion... but it's all a matter of which grind appeals to you more.
Overall, the rewards in hunts are just far better, even if your only extra benefit is trading myths for items to sell on the market boards.
EDIT: If you need any UATs, though, then that's another good reason to spam CT... that way at least you have a couple things you could lot on. -

If you like hunts, hunts are better. If you don't, and do like ST, I'd say take a few people with you to ST. People you know aren't going for oils.

ST for Oil and Hunts for Sand. This has been my method and it seems to be working quite well ^_^
Hunts are faster and easier to get the required amount, but you have that boost to your left side gear, which is more heavily weighted. Therefore getting that side to max iLv first is better, and if you happen to do that before you get all the Oil you need to cap your right side gear, then just carry on with Hunts to cap that side as well! :D
btw Hunts are only boring when there are no windows open and if no one in your party talks. Seriously, with the adjustments SE made to Hunts... It's actually good content now. Once you weed out the assholes, you can have some serious fun and make a few friends while also raking in the rewards.

Well I have no choice but to do Oils for ST and Sands with Hunts since I am on PS3 and have to rely on daily marks... it would take way too much time to get both with allied seals (still have to get my first sands!). But if you can do hunt, they are certanly faster. Wether they are more entertaining depends on what you like. I hope they'll add Sands to ST with 2.38 so I can focus on vanity with AS.

I pretty much stick to hunts for Sands and ST for oil. Sure, it can sometimes take a bunch of ST runs, but you could get lucky as well. On two different occasions, I have won the Oil on my very first ST run of the week.

I was using ST for extra oils, but I've found that I often fall asleep, even in the early morning or afternoon, while doing ST. I'm not saying it is boring. Maybe it is the rhythm of the fight, flashing of lights, or something, but I fall asleep playing ST.

I did both. Originally I used the Seals from Hunts for Sands until I had broken all of the gear I needed to, then I started using seals for Oils. In the mean time while gathering the sands I did ST for an Oil every week. It took me about 1-2 weeks to get my job entirely maxed out on both. Mind you I was doing hunts alot. Even so, it doesnt take very long to break all your gear even if all you do is join in on the S ranks.

It's not that I personally can't beat it, but I've A) lost interest and B) Am greatly against content that requires a static in order to complete, and C) just haven't had a group of people with me that could all do the right things, when I did "try". In fact the only turn in BCoB1 I have beaten was T1, though, back when it was still relatively new-ish I did try turns 2 and 4 as well. But I only did those because a friend of mine at the time asked if I'd go with him to try it. I did my Coil 1 attempts back before there was even an Enrage Mode strategy for T2. It wasn't until after 2.2 that I finally even got T1 completed succesfully. At this point I already have all i110 gear, except for 1 i100 ring, and I've yet to even step inside BCoB2.Quote:

Maybe eventually I'll get to do them. Once they are added to the DF and people are geared up to the point where the dungeons aren't very difficult anymore. But even then, there's mechanics to fights that require knowledge of them in order to counter or else everyone's going to wipe. As evident in the groups that I have tried to do T5 with already in the DF, they can't handle that, so that means BCoB2 isn't going to happen. I'll stick to Hunts and ST and other solo content for now, it enables me to do what I want on my time and still be able to gear up my jobs.
