FF14 server wide statistics

The redesigned Game is out since a Year by now. I would be interested a lot in reading some numbers of what was achieved throughout all FF14 servers in EU, NA and JP. I would be particularly interested in these numbers:

- how many % of all players have beaten T5
- how many % of all players have beaten T9
- how many % of all players have beaten the individual Ex fights starting with Garuda and ending with Ramuh
- how many % of all players have beaten the Savage mode of each Coil 2 turn
- how many % of all crafters have an iLevel 75 tool
- how many % of all players have maxed out all beast tribes friendship
- how many % of all players have achieved a Novus weapon
- how many % of all players have at least one DOH maxed in Desynthesis
- how many % of all players have completed the Sightseeing Logs
- how many % of all players have completed catching the big Fish

I am personally curious to know these numbers but maybe they can also give a hint to SE about Future Design. I get a feeling that a lot of content they produce is content that a lot of people do either not touch at all or give up at some stage for various reasons.

So can we have some server wide statistics please for the 1st anniversary? Pretty please. :)

There is a census coming at TGS according to the anniversary site so look forward to atleast some of that info I'd say.

Not sure how accurate a census would be though.

You have to consider things like, players quitting, alts and other such things.

So unless they also release what retention rate the game has, you would have to take a census with a grain of salt.

You have to keep in mind that census will not include anything that will make the game look bad, if the % of all players who cleared T9 or finished the sightseeing log is too low they will not include it (and it is low).

I would expect the same info that is included in xivsoul with perhaps other random stuff like amount of times people died in open world, total amount of hours played by all players or the most popular dungeon.

^^^ yeah I also fear that they would try to hide some of the numbers from us because they put their Design in question. But I hope for at least some numbers. I mean you get a vague idea if you are on a Playstation console, the last time I looked, the T5 achievement for example was achieved from 5% lol. This was 3 months ago, numbers have surely changed by now and latest raise in Echo buff.

XIVsoul count 1256 fledgling Apkallu, so I dare say that this should be the number of people who has cleared the Sightseeing log.

Sometimes xivsoul lists more people than what we actually have, but 1.2k out of 2m+ sounds accurate considering how poorly they implemented that.

They already openly said a ballpark estimate of the amount of people who cleared t9. They are not at all embarrassed to admit their designated hard content has low clear rates.

A census wouldn't be an estimate tho, it would be an actual percentage and it would be compared to the people who haven't, if it were to be under 10% I really wouldn't expect them to make it public.

Either way, do you have a source? I'd like to see what was their estimate at the time they made it public.

why would a low % of T5/T9 clears be considered a bad thing ? if anything they be prideful they made challenging content, a lot of devs that make something hard expect this, players as well. If the % is high, it will read as 2 things, the game is too easy, or this game is full of highly skilled players (which we know is much the opposite).

I was pretty happy when I first got my PS4 and they'd implemented % figures of people with the game registered on their system, and the % of people with a Turn 5 clear was less than 1% at that point :D

I think demonstrating that the content is challenging rather than facerollingly easy would be a good thing for the developers.

most of the content is facerolling easy, but even more ppl are just bad as hell

There are so many ways to "read" or "interpret" data (aka PR spin), that it could be seen as bad if that low percentage is due to people not wanting to run the content because it sucks, or that gave up because they got tired of beating their heads against something (too difficult).

From a PR standpoint, SE (and most companies) dont want you to know the hard numbers, because they can be taken in several different ways or spun to tell the story a certain person wants. They stick to generic terms like "A large number of people....", or "A majority of..." rather than say... "50,000 players out of 2 million have completed 'X'....".

One of those statements sounds good from a PR standpoint, the other not so much.

Look at the spin WildStar is putting on their "Mega Servers". Making it a big positive PR thing to merge servers to better help with grouping and raids. The flip side is, they are merging because populations have tanked to low levels across all servers... but they wont come out and say that.

Yoshida mentioned that the total number of people that cleared turn 9 was around 2,000 in the 14 hour live stream event.

This would be a horribly inaccurate census. Not exactly a solid mix of types of players playing the game. This would only reach the mostly hardcore players, as well as some not telling the truth. I could see a number like 75% of players have cleared t9, Lol sure.
