Scaling the old raids

Will there ever be a way of scaling old raid content (Crystal Tower, eventually Syrcus Tower etc) to be run with fewer players? I'm a new level 50 so had to run CT yesterday to unlock ST, and even as a tank had a 30 minute wait. I've decided that I'd like the pld armour set from CT, but the idea of half hour waits for a chance at the drop isn't great. It would be awesome if there could be an 8 and a 16 man version too or an alternate way of getting the gear for glamour.

Wow 30 min wait time... the horror... Try 2h+ last year for DPS... Now enough me being snarky and to the topic.

I think they could scale it down or maybe allow for 1 party to be NPC controlled to reduce the requirement for more people.

Also you can now go in as a premade alliance so if you find 23 other people that want to farm for gear you can all go together and avoid that queue completely. Not to mention the possibilites of wipes...

The wait time was just to illustrate that if it's half an hour for tanks, it's long.

I did try and get at least some people to come along, but at the mention of CT the response was "ummm, I'm going over here to do something that isn't CT". It just seems like unpopular content, I suspect because it is only for vanity - i90+ is easier to get and less chaotic (generally). Based on running it yesterday, most of the mechanics look like they could be relatively easily tuned for an 8 person party, with the possible exception of behemoth's towers.

That's really the problem. People are tired of CT.

Hmm, a pity. Having not running before yesterday I quite enjoyed myself. Given how difficult it has become to get a group for CT, it looks like the right time to reduce the size needed.

Alternatively they could always allow players to buy the gear for glamour for excessive amounts of myth.

Or make a raid raid roulette that includes CT, ST, and coil 1,2, and 4

Hmmm I could live with a coil roulette and a crystal tower roulette... but not both in the same one...

Reason being that coil generally requires a diferent level of performance and cooridnation than either CT or ST.

They increased the myth tome reward for CT but it seems it's not enough incentive, people get enough tomes elsewhere.

I think it is probable some roulette will be established in the future, since the roulette system has worked well to have people run content they probably wouldn't have played.

Maybe when the weekly loot limit of ST is retired they put a roulette for both ST and CT.

I don't think it's likely they would mix in a roulette Coil with CT, they are different type of content.

Coil/raid roulette would be awesome. The rewards would have to be fairly good to get people in I expect, but it would probably help to reduce queues a bit.

Hunts killed CT and other content. With hunts you can have 5x more mytho than from CT in the same time..

Hunts may have affected, but basically the reason is the loot is not interesting except for glamour, since the ilvl90 gear is so easy to get. And there are better places to get myth tomes than CT apart from hunts that are very good for that too (apart from allied seals.) CT runs take a lot of time and higher geared players don't go there so runs are riskier than they used to be (and they used to be risky, some groups fine, some not.)

I've not done CT enough to be bored of it yet, and the only reason I do run it is for glamour. However, if they were to up the gear dropped to i90 coil level gear and set the entry gear around T1/2 level , do you think people would run it? Obviously damage would need to be tuned, but it may keep some life in the old dog yet.

I did CT again recently in order to unlock ST for an alt character (after ignoring it for a long time). A large portion of the group looked like they were there for the same reason: fresh new 50s. So of course it went worse than random ST or other even harder content because the skill and gear level relative to content was way lower. And I won't be going back again in foreseeable future.

A roulette might be fine. Some modification like Echo might be plausible - although I'm not sure that the difficulty level actually needs reduced. But I would expect any major re-design to be off the table - that would be new content more or less.

after ST came out, i still ran CT like a madman, 200 myth for easy content? yes please.
then hunts..made myth even more of a joke to get, for even semi hunters.

and now, the only thing i get when trying to run CT, is massive trolling. Healers that say they're going to DPS, and rarely heal, Tanks that face pull everything and just act like an idiot. We'll vote kick them..wait for the new party members..and it's the same person 3 times! I was only doing it to help a FC buddy get some new gear for his new 50 DPS (it's his last one) and not only was the wait long (1hour+) after frequent withdraws, we get trolls. how is that fun to anyone, to make someone elses experience bad.
