So we have seen/heard a lot of what the Designers, Programmers, Scripters, Animators and some of what the Effects Artists are working on... What are the Modelers, Environment Artists, Texture Artists, Concept Artists up to? Getting excited to see what they been up to. (Obviously I don't know how their team is split up exactly.) :D
Kind of a useless thread but... it is general after all. :)
Hopefully not ALL optimization that's no fun. lol

I would love to see what concepts there might be for new areas and more concept art for gears for jobs would be really cool to see. Maybe concept art for fiends too ^^ please show us some !

This is what I've been wondering for the past 8 months as well.
As it is, it seems working as an artist on XIV is the easiest job in the entire world.
The BLM gear they showed looked amazing but that's all we've seen so far. The huts look so bland they hardly needed any concept art at all.
I really hope they've been working at making the landscapes more interesting and FF-like but only time will tell. XIII environments look amazing like all the other FF titles. I hope they hire some of those artists with an imagination because that's what XIV really needs. I thought by IX they proved that they can make medieval style in an original and inventive way? What about those artists? Hire Christian Lorenz Schauer as an art-director for the environment design again!
Even if I absolutely love Akihiko Yoshida's character designs I worry that he isn't capable of creating memorable environments the FF series is known for.
Vagrant Story, FF tactics, Ogre Battle and XII are great games but the look of the world is forgettable in 9 shades of brown.
XII is an exception because Kusanagi worked on the environments not Yoshida. All the games that have Kusanagi designed environments look amazing VII-XII why did they not commission environment design from Kusanagi for this game like they have done in the past?
Maybe they wanted to try new people but when they fail to produce quality up to par I can't but wonder why they don't use people who have proved they can do exceptional work? -

On topic: We are still patiently waiting for anything that can be shown to the community as far concept art. It does not really need to be anything far away either, something as close as 1.19 or 1.20 could work pretty well too. Thank you Dev team for all your hard work
