QoL for smaller FC houses.

When chocobo stables were added everyone was excited. That turned into disappointment when it became obvious we had to clean them and that was going to cost. Alot. Just yesterday with the small patch, glazenuts were removed from recipe and yield was increased. Also brooms were made available from estate junkmonger, which @ 20k a piece is still too much imo. So instead of crafters gouging other players, it is now you using it as a gil sink. No ty.

Not to be suprised, removing glazenuts just made the cost of broombush go up. Where this ties in for houses smaller than the large ones? Gardening and estate npc restrictions.

I need to grow the foods for our chocobos, crafting mats for brooms, and of course minion requests from members. I can't do that with the garden plot restriction in place all at once or in a timely manner. I think that is an unnecessary restriction. If we even want to buy brooms off junkmonger we have to remove one of the other npc's. The mender is nice and convient when returning from abroad. The material supplier is great for those that are getting into crafting. Junkmonger has the brooms we need and is otherwise useless. Not to mention that there is a Junkmonger npc in the housing area that sells ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

We really need to have the garden plot restriction removed. After all there are FC's that would rather be in large houses but hey, small plots out numbered large ones and we have restrictions forced on us that now feel like some sort of punishment.

I'm in the same boat as you, trying to juggle all the different demands on a single garden is tough. That said, I think its a temporary problem, which will be settled in the next patch when personal housing is released. In 2.38 each individual member of our Free Companies will be able to grow their own items or contribute to free company gardening projects.

It'll add one whole garden for each person in the company, which will be amazingly different than one garden for the whole company.

I don't agree with making it a gil sink. And that is exactly what it is. If it weren't for the plot restriction we could make our own brooms. Grow our own chocobo foods. All time consuming and going to take awhile because we have to crossbreed then grow the seeds we obtain. Rinse and repeat. One plot is not enough. Nothing wrong for smaller FC's to want to be self sufficient right?

Don't understand. I have private fc with a private house. So, i make gil alone. And i had no problems to buy broom for 80k and did it until my bird reached rank 10. Now i have another problem - with onion.
Junkmonger can be placed into private room. I dont see any problems to do this.

I really hope when individual housing comes out you'll leave that FC plot to a real free company...

So you have 3 npcs? If thats the case never thought that would work. We have been dumping gil into crafters... melds, turn ins for books, desynthing for demimaterias and so we can upgrade tools. Also melds on gatherers. Eats up gil fast when your doing that for all the DoH and a couple of people. Like I said, we'd like to be self sufficient as it helps save gil. With the need for various gardening harvests ie: chocobos and crafting, one garden plot does not hack it period.

You can place one npc into your private room but others will be unable to accecc it. Only the room owner. I think it's not a problem ask one of your fc members to place junkmonger

I have a problems with raids. I can go there at a very random moments of time only. So, i can't participate static groups. In my conditions i have all i can get from Fc. And private format of it is optimal for me.

No matter how many plots you have, you can't do it in a timely manner. What you can do is combine those needs and plant according:

• Almond + Krakka gets you Sylkis Buds and Mandrake
• replace Almonds with more Almonds
• replace Krakka with Mandrake for Nymeia Lily
• replace Almonds with more Almonds
• replace Mandrake with Nymeia Lily for Broombrush
• replace Almonds with more Almonds
• replace Nymeia Lily with Broombrush for more Broombrush
• replace Almonds with more Sylkis Buds for Thav Onion seeds (and trash seeds)
• replace Broombrush with more Broombrush
• replace Sylkis Buds with Almonds and restart

You might need to repeat some steps, and want to repeat others depending on how lucky you get with your crosses, but this will get you plenty of Broombrush, and a few Onion seeds every month. Hopefully you have a member that has a Botanist retainer for the Almond/Mandrake seeds.

Are you using grade 3 for every seed? For now we will stick it out using junkmonger hoping we will luck out on a retainer venture. After the current crop for choco food gets harvested we're going to start for broombush. Should have done it the other way around in hindsight. Brooms first then food. It would just be nice to have separate gardens for those goals. I thank you for that crossbreeding planting info, it's much appreciated.

We have the same issues. For now I placed a junkmonger in my room and it is open access to all members so they can come buy the brooms when needed. Not a solution for everyone but it works for now

Yes, I use grade 3, and I'm working 3 beds myself in our mansion. I do switch between Thanalan and Shroud soil, though. I have a stockpile from a weeklong crafting/gathering binge.

Shroud soil also increases the number of seeds you get, especially for the low level stuff. I use it on the Krakka, and on top of getting high yields some give 9 Sylkis seeds. Even with lower success rate, if just one pays off I'm ahead. I haven't tried it on all the higher level seeds, but one of the mid-range gave me 5 seeds from one plant (Apricot I think)

I do not understand the fc outfitting crafters with melds. As a crafter that is something I do myself. Like getting tomes for gear.

Why wouldn't a fc help crafters with melds or gatherers? Specially if that is what they specialize in? I gather while my wife crafts. Another member splits his time between both. We're all casuals and no there isn't actually 22 members. Most of those are mules for gear storage etc. I also battlecraft so what little time I am on I have to decide what to do. Penta melding costs you in failed melds depending on how dumb the rng feels like being.

Fc's should help their members as well as members should help their FC's. Otherwise whats the point? You're just using people or each other. Hey gsm make me this now or I'll kick you out! Uh I can't make that because I'm not fully melded :( Broke from melding ; ; . type scenario. Extreme example anyways. So we help each other with stuff because that's how it's supposed to work.

I would not have ever thought of that working... makes me want to see if I can put all 3 in one room now.

Other people cant access the npc you put in your room, but if you put a junkmonger in there you can just have the owner buy the brooms and people pay them the 20k for it.

As for 20k, think of that as the cap. If people make the brooms, they have to sell for under 20k, otherwise people will just buy from the NPC.

I don't like the garden patch caps though. We have a few gardeners in our FC and now that chocobo colour seeds are out, we've had to tell everyone for the time being they can only plant one thing at once and share the garden until we work out a system (before it was mainly first come first serve, members just regulated and left a bit of room for others)

That. They said that was the intent with it being sold by the NPC. The price on the NPC sets the maximum that the market should be at (unless it's a clueless buyer). If people buy Broombush for the brooms, which is the primary reason people do (and not so much for the minion or anything), that also sets the price of Broombush itself. On Leviathan, Magicked Stable Broom sells for ~14k or so, when I checked yesterday. If people are pricing broombush to the point that it costs more to make the stable brooms than it is to just buy them from the NPC, that price won't last long at all on the market. And like anything else that is gardened for and takes multiple gardening sessions to get, seeing it up for somewhere around 200k per SHOULD be considered the norm.
