Hunts finally fixed

Some people may complain about what SE has done to hunts in one way or another, but I do believe that in this current form that it satiates each party. The fact that B rank hunts are not only easier to find and kill with a whopping 5 second respawn timer, but also the fact that they are solely for the weekly means that players will spend less time being at each other's throats if they're trying to do the weekly. In addition, it also means that Hunt parties really don't work anymore now that the only farmable Hunts have either special spawn conditions or a 2-4 hour cooldown.

Square Enix's decision to make these changes were specifically to hinder groups who were taking advantage of the system in order to rapidly advance their item level. That doesn't mean that people haven't already taken full advantage of the Hunt in order to get 110 gear, which will allow Second Binding Coil groups to progress more easily (which may have been a goal of theirs in the beginning, though I'm sure they did not expect it to become as prominent as it did). As it stands now, people who aren't on a super computer who can handle 500+ characters on screen can now actually do most Hunts. Even if players can only get 254 guaranteed Allied seals per week through the bills, there's still the random nature of the A & S ranks which should be easier to find once people stop actively farming for them.

As a PS3 player, this is a godsend since it was literally impossible for me to participate once about 150 players popped up on the screen.

Actually most hunt parties ignored B ranks anyway. You can still farm seals just as quickly as before if you know what you're doing.

If hunt parties are happening less for your server its likely because people don't need allied seals anymore. Not because of the patch.

I have not been a big hunt person but i did a little last night, and people have become even more mercenary than before.... I find it hilarious that they condemned and hated on a handful of individuals for pulling early, now they all do it.

Hunt is finally fixed for casuals to get something done at snail pace, they should bump up the reward and use B marks not just as once a week kill, and reinstate tomes reward or take that out completely as Hunt rewards from all rank. If they are smart, all the fixing they really have to do is to make sand and oil purchasable using wolf marks or myth tomes. Just one fix, and suddenly you don't have to deal with hordes of Zerg Zombies - people now have REASONS to do other content beside Hunt.

I agree the change is for the better. However, there's still one thing that needs fixing. That the two last daily marks are not tied to fates.

I am doing daily hunts now since they've become a viable options. They're fun. Thanks SE!

I still hope A and S ranks will be turned into end-game leves eventually though.

Just want to confirm my server's hunters ignored B ranks before the patch.
So I needed solo B and the fight just liked soloing an old day fate boss...^^;

Yes, they finally made the dailies worth our effort. They take about 40 minutes or so, except for one part... The dang fates. Why not make those B marks part of the daily and move to fates to the weekly? I can find all the weekly B marks in the time that it can take some of these fates to pop.

I thought they were supposed to decrease the time for a fate to pop. Evidently that is not so. I waited yesterday for 2 hr 15 min for the turtle in Thanalan, and today has been over an hour for the Coeurl in Outer La Nos. I guess they were very selective on which fates to change, since it appears that none of the daily hunt fates were part of that change.

OP, I don't know what server you are playing on, but I doubt that the decreased activity is from the patch. Faerie has seen no less activity than before, and I dare say we are getting more folks at A's when they do pop specifically because of the patch. Hunting parties are just as prevalent as before, except now they don't bother with B ranks at all whereas before B ranks were a way to kill that 10 minutes between the last A kill and the next A spawn.

Its a bandage since the problem still remain and the damage is already done regardless.

But yes, B-ranks were perhaps the biggest source of seals, people only tend to don't think so cuz, like usual, they're only ignorantly impressed by big numbers. The amount of B-ranks you can kill before an A-rank or S-rank spawn is pretty significant.

While everyone is entitled to their opinion regarding the Hunts, I find that taking B ranks out of the equation was a bad move. The already toxic player base that did hunts is still there, but now that they no longer need to choose between B or A, more people are joining the ranks of "toxic" players when they can't make it to the A ranks because of early pulls, not calling out the spawns, ect. The issues are still there regardless. Just because you only have to deal with it every 4 hours instead of all the time doesn't erase what's still there.
