I"m still trying to understand how they work. Currently we have regular marks which are dailies and Elite Marks which are weeklies. Regular Marks are nothing more than FATE bosses and kill 5 _____. Elite Marks are B's which don't drop rewards now but only complete weeklies.
So basically I'm doing Animus type grinding for dailies and one actually elite hunt a week. Do I understand this right?
Any B rank you have a bill for gives you 50 seals a week and the rest like you are saying. Yes are a lot like doing your books :P with out killing 100 mobs that is^^ but idk waiting for fates are not that bad you can read a book when waiting or craft :P and at the end of the weeked if you did this everyday you can end up with about 498 seals a week with out killing A or S rank that's not bad
Well I have to say I'm more disappointed now than I was with the zerg hunts. Let me explain. I actually think the changes to rank B are a good thing. On the other hand though I want to do hunts to find rare monster in the field that a mark calls out for. Not sure why they didn't make rank B dailies and make rank A the weeklies. Am already doing Animus so the fact that I have two pieces of content that require me to kill X amount of normal mobs and complete more FATEs is bummer. In my mind it should be:
4 Dailies = Rank B - solo
2 Weeklies = Rank A - Full Party
1 Monthly = Rank S - Alliance
my guess is your not counting the 50 every week as well. As far as i know you get 10 bills per day right? 4 seals each mob and 10 seals for the 2 fates that's 64 seals a day right? and i was going from Monday-Sunday and if you add the 50 you get for the b that that's 498
I find it dumb you're still killing normal mobs and FATEs.
Why not make the Weekly A rank and kill only B ranks for all bills.
With the new tweaks to hunts I thought it'd finally be a good time to try them out (I didn't do it sooner because I am sort of sensible and didn't like the griefing I heard of). Figured I wouldn't get yelled at for pulling a monster that takes only 5 seconds to respawn.
Nope, still happened <_<; first hunt ever, 1/1 successful insults received.
I don't really much mind the change for Bs, I think it makes it more in line with what was intended and the reward rate on dailies is the kind of thing casuals have been hoping for. On that note... I don't think Bs without a bill should give nothing, that's a bit extreme. You're still killing a tough monster and with the respawn time no one should feel bad for pulling it solo now. I'd say, just to make these feel like they're more than just daily weekly fodder (since who's going to bother with them after that?), make them worth 1 allied seal... Then it's not really all so attractive to the Zerg, but it's a nice little 'yeah, that wasn't a complete waste of time' feel as well.
I agree and understand why they did it... I just foresee a lot of Bs just hanging around the zones unwanted past Friday. It seems like a bit of a waste to me.
-Edit-
Though I'd have to think it'd be hard to monopolize Bs like Naul and Skogs, giving the fast respawn and the size of the map.
Look, if you found a B mark that you need to kill, simply shouting it once, and hold the mob for a minute without killing it too fast is not going to hurt you. There may be one or three other people who also look for this B mark. I don't see why people need to kill it NOW FAST ALL MINE mentality.. on big zone such as Coertha, having someone shout can help minimizing the running around looking for that B mark in the zone. Yeah it repop in seconds - but that can repop anywhere in the zone.
Or twenty... Or forty... Depends on the time, the RNG of the weekly and the server population. Or there could be none, but we just then go back to the old issues associated with calling out marks. Once people get used to the quicker respawn, pulling them solo for your weekly without calling them should be less of a 'crime'.
yes i know it's 4 each mob but i got 10 bills today then it cut me off and was 64
you probably had bills from a previous day already, then got the current day bills once you completed those
I'm not ashamed to say, I hate the changes to B ranks. I mean, really! You had 7 days to kill a mob that spawns every 45 minutes?
A few complain so let's just take away all the seals and myth from B ranks and make them worthless.
For the first time in months I had a reason to sit down on my day off work and play ffxiv marathon style for hours... Not so much anymore, I guess it's back to the same weekly cap system that kept me from playing more than I did to start with.

I really don't see any reason to hold in regards to pulling B ranks any longer. It IS a 5 second respawn timer, and everyone is assigned a different B rank to kill. I was lucky enough to not have killed last week's elite bill, so I was able to get 2 back to back shortly after the server came back online. Each took less than 5 minutes of searching. Knowing that the mob is going to be up somewhere in the zone at all times makes things much easier.
Also, don't forget that the requirements to get full credit on these mobs has been eased significantly. When I had the second mob down to 1% health a random tank threw a shield lob at it. He got 50 seals.
Well, at least now I can go out and kill the B rank mob for the bill when I want to.
Still, A and S ranks still continue to be a waste of time running around looking for mobs.
Really wish they'd turn hunts into leves or make allied seals available from content than isn't mind-numbingly boring.
Eh, yeah. It's sporting of someone to do it, but definitely isn't necessary. When I'm out in a field gathering or farming and I see one, I'll shout out its position to the zone. The same goes for when I find mine. I don't have any reason not to share if anyone else in the zone happens to want it. I mean, I'm not going to sit and wait 10 minutes but a shout and a pause is nice. Some of the zones are pretty big, so searching gets pretty boring even on a 5s repop.
Many people have limited time to play. B ranks were dying in 15-30 seconds on my server.
That makes it really hard for some to get the weekly mark.
I don't think they would've changed it if it was just "a few people" complaining. I honestly think the hunt was rife with unintended consequences and they're starting to adjust and address those. Casuals have just as much right to enjoy the content as the more hardcore players do and it seems like that's the direction SE is going with this.Quote:

Although, it's a tad silly to have the daily marks on normal monsters, but not that big of an issue in the design.
Would be slightly more pleasing to hunt some unique monster, than hunting something that sounds like a levequest.
The issue 2.35 patch is fixing is the problem before was the line between casual to hardcore was blending into each other.
Meaning, B ranks were shared between casual (the Elite Marks, weekly) and the hardcore people who are just killing time waiting for the next A and S ranks to pop.
This meant, before patch 2.35, a larger group of people would be killing B rank regardless if they had the Elite Marked bills or not.
I like to imagine the sharing of B rank was intentional to have casuals meet up with hardcore players, however it backfired due to the large turn out of players and how absurdly weak a B rank is.
Now, after patch 2.35, there's a distinct line from where these hunts divide.
Casuals: Daily Marks, Elite Marks B Ranks
Hardcore: A and S ranks
If you were to just make everything a time lock, it'll be essentially turning the whole Hunt system into a casual event.
Oppose to being an open alternative to getting Alexandrites for your Animus weapon, it'll push the hardcores back to grinding FATEs for alexandrite drops or DF for myth tomes.
Basically, think of back of simpler days with Duty Roulette.
Roulette was a nice addition for casuals to just cap their weekly tomes by playing a bit every day.
Hardcores couldn't care less since they would have just been finding the optimal dungeon that gives the most tomes for the least amount of time invested.
So, think of Marked Bills as Duty Roulette, and hunting A or S ranks as dungeon grinding if you have the extra time.
Ew Fairy Tail. Feels more like Monster Hunter to me. But yes I agree thanks for the new hunts. I am actually picking up the smaller ones so i can grab a couple things from the huntmaster
I feel the same way. There is absolutely no shame in that.
The changes to B Ranks has gutted our once very active and friendly linkshell. I also introduced a few friends to the game that recently hit 50 and they feel like the rug was pulled out from under them. Just makes my disappointment that much worse. Took me a while to pull one of them away from a certain other game, and I fear he may go back as a result.
I like the changes but they do not go far enough. Waiting for FATES or killing random open world mobs is not hunting in my book. I would prefer if the B mob was the daily mark and an A mob the weekly goal. And maybe an S mob as a monthly goal as an extra.
What I liked yesterday is how the changes affected the players. I saw people waiting for others to arrive on a B mob, shouting the position for B mobs and then waiting although they now spawn very quickly. Pressure on some people seems to be away now and hunters can concentrate on the A and S mobs. Less mobs, lesser porting and running to locations.
274 seals a week for not having to deal with horde mentality and the "you pulled you [insert random swear words]" conversations on /shout? Great job...SE. Two weeks for oil, 3 for sands... if you not do anything. Propably not good idea for all those "hardcore gearers", but as you don't need full 110 to T1-5 (and that's what I'm doing so far), I'm quite happy with my weathered gear and slight upgrades to few of the items.
I'm liking the new Hunt, but it seam to me like they try to make Casual stay longer with the low Seal doing Rank B that take 3 weeks for one Sand. You can still join the A Zerge Fest, but because of B rank no longer yield reward and A is the only option, I notice people pull early constantly and it is even worst then before.
I think they did GREAT with the fix. But they went too far by removing myth and soldiery reward from B rank, which is stupid decision. What they should have done is increase the daily so you get 50 seals total per day, and add 3 random weekly B rank mobs to kill. This way each week, casuals get 500 seals total if they do it everyday. Enough for to get by and not a game breaker.
They should also add dungeon daily mark category and primal/trials weekly category to give most players reasons to go back to dungeons and bring their weekly seals total to 700. 2800 seals a week is nothing.... It's enough for casuals to catch up to patch 2.4 and with dungeon + trials mark category, it will revitalize the older contents.
I see to many people whining about the new hunt system and personally the only thing I have to say about it is that aside from the missing tomestones of mythology that were on the B rank and the A rank being a bit lacking in hunt points and the Tomestones of mythology and perhaps tomestones of soldiery as well as the S rank I believe these are minor things and they could be easily fixed.
I'm ok with this, I love Fairy Tail. Such an adorable, and cool series.
I agree!
"All A's are dead"
Oh okay then Ill just afk for 2 hrs till they respawn
It was more fun to kill B's between the As cause I feel like a B was always up so you always had something to look for and kill.
Now the contents become too timed. Can only do it for 4 hrs since first A rank respawns and then you just gotta wait. Like most things in this game sadly
I think they need to add more bills - a single weekly for B ranks is really limited. Hunting B ranks is fun they just feel under used now - I'm happy for the adjustment but it needs a bit more tweaking to get it to a sweet spot where they feel relevant.
We have different definitions of "Fun" No body wanted to do anything else when B ranks gave rewards, it was just an endless cycle of hunt Bs till A's and S's spawn, now since update people actually do other things when the timers are down on A's. I don't know how hitting a B rank for 10 seconds and it's dead was fun but to each his own.
The daily reward is too pitiful with only 5 options. Hunts still causing problems - and when the A train hits, good luck in getting any of your duty finder stuffs done.... waiting time will suddenly jump to over 30 mnts because no one wants to do it.
