I70 Crafting hands you think it's worth it?

As of 2.35 a new crafting hands was introduce I can only assume for rank 7 ixali.

Overall max meld vs it it seems to be +3 control -3 cp not a huge increase but still an increase as -3 cp is a small lost. It will take a bit of a grind to get it daily quest lockout and all but if you don't have fully melded hands this might be a decent gil saver.

Thoughts?

Seems nice, I don't have all hands fully melded .

And it will save space in armoury :)

Edit : and I ll get some materia back from converting the gloves

It means converting 8 i55 hands to tier 3 or 4's, sure I'll go for that.

3cp is better than 3 control in my book.

Maybe not so worth it for serious crafter. We do value CP too. Besides, hand melding only has like 1 overmelding, that's 3 melds on it.

Would be useful when I haven't max-melded all my DoH hands. ^^;

Pre 2.3 max meld setup for making 2* or 3* craft requires tight amount of CP. Even with new 2.3 accessories & belt doesn't make CP usage any easier.

Yeah, oops, didn't notice that. 3 control for the loss of 3 cp is garbage; there's a reason CP food is the best.

Best bet is to hope it's an oversight and the i70 gloves are supposed to have 3 cp as well; submitted a bug report hoping it's that.

even if they dont spend 3 cp they ease crafting 3 star recipes with the lvl 55 tool, so they are welcome for me and everyone with the same intention :p

Converting i70 and now i90 items dont guarentee IV materia. So i wouldnt count on seeing any IV's with i55 gear.

Except that change specifically said it was a change only for i70+ gear. So i45-55 converting to tier 4 is unchanged.

While i pray that you are right about this, i hava a feeling obtaining IVs is an i90-110 thing now. Perhaps preparing for 2.4 patch when they release craftable i100.

Yes it said it was specifically i70 but why would that effect i90 then?

Think about what you are saying... Crafted/Gathering materia only come from crafting/gathering equipment.. To my knowledge i55 is the highest level of those equipment that can be converted.

Anyway, it's been confirmed i45-55 still give tier 4 as before.

converted 2 astral accs today, sav aim 4 and hea eye 4. Mind you, st gave 0% sb on hq double melded astral acc.

Hope it is. The glove would make a better replacement for i55 hands if 3 or more CP added there.

Alistair is correct gloves must be an oversight, the stats are not consistent for the iLvL.

If you look the sum of stats hat/gloves/legs/feet either iLvl 50 or 55 it is exactly the same.

To be consistent amount of stats of iLvL 70 hat and Gloves should be the same but there is a difference of 3.

Making the gloves BiS would make the Ixal dailies mandatory for DoH, though, when the Beast Tribe stuff was always meant to be an optional side thing.

This may be meant more as catch-up content for new or just more casual crafters.

I like the look of the proper gloves. My fashion sense would be too violated to wear those gloves with everything. Besides that, I've already got melds on gloves for 6 DoH, and they aren't that tough to do.

All crafting is optional content so being forced to do some optional content for your optional content doesn't really mean anything.

You can craft everything in the game without the gloves. There is nothing 'mandatory' about them.

Can't wait to get them myself since I'm slowly(and by slowly I mean slow - maybe by expansion I'll have done them all) getting up each crafter(doing them in pairs got ltw and cpt, now doing wvr and bsm(leveling these two on ixali)) to 50. So this will save me quite a bit in materia(or spiritbonding) and give me something nice out of it. Infact the Ixali quests are fun in and of themselves. First beasttribe I'm actually enjoying doing it just for that. As much as I like the Ash story or the Sylhs in general can hardly bing myself to do those.

I can craft 3* jewelry just fine without a supra and not having upgraded my belt/accessories yet (didn't want to re-meld). The 3 extra cp from the gloves is absolutely not mandatory.

But why wouldn't you do it. The ixali recipes are a joke if you have decent crafting gear. Shouldn't take you more than 15-20min a day to get these quests out of the way and it only takes a few weeks worth of doing it.

The gloves remove 3 CP, assuming you have fully melded HQ AF gloves right now.

I really don't see a problem here.

I craft because I like to craft. I like to use top end gear. I like beast tribe quests (except for the Sylphs'.)

Just curious I'm replacing my unmelded crafter gloves with the new i70 once I get to rank 7 to save space and have a "ixali daily for oakknots" pair of gloves at all times. What would be the most efficient way to sb my current gloves?

Sorry, that's a typo. Assuming they add +3 cp to the ixali gloves to make it BiS (since it's been moved to approved bugs), then the extra +3 control would not be absolutely mandatory if you chose to ignore the new ixali gloves and decided to stick with your melded ones.

If you want to skip getting an Artisan's tool. They are the only way to get to 374 control w/o using FC buffs, since you don't need the HQ version of the 2-Star master craft. Might not matter so much atm, but may have some relevance later.

It is in the Ixali trader's oaknot list for 10 oaknots.
