2.35 DoH Materia Max Melding

Anyone else worried about the changes to chances of IV materia, specifically crafter gear, for new crafts? I know i still have a lot of work to do on my melds, but from what's in the patch notes it seems to be a bit of a catch-22:

1) For guaranteed IV materia, spiritbond/convert ilvl90 gear.
2) In order to craft said ilvl90 gear, you must be fully melded.
3) In order to be fully melded, you must have a lot of IV materia on your gear, return to step 1.

See what i mean? Where does the new lvl 50 crafter stand on reaching max meld now, other than spending a butload of time and money on the market boards (as, with the changes, i can personally see materia prices, specifically command IV and Craft IV going INSANE.

You don't need grade IVs with the new belt and jewelry, maybe not even before that?
I'm way above the requirements on ALC for 3 star recipes without any IVs on its gear. :p

There are no changes to craft/gather tier iv. Only i70+ are changed, and there's nothing convertible i70+ on DoH/L.

Hmmm, I just HQ'd my first new jewellery last night (albeit it was the gathering earings xD made for a friend who helped me farm for a load of fieldcraft demi I :D )

Is there anything anywhere that shows the full AF gear, AF weapon (non upgraded, non artisans), and these new tools/accessories before melds?
-edit- Found this tool again, here's my gear (minus the melds, i want to start again on them lol).

Going by the stats on the bottom, base stats with full new crafting accessories/belt, AF, artisans spectacles and AF tool is 316craft/316control/319CP.
That still leaves a deficiency of 78 craft/control to make up, CP slightly easier at 26 CP.

I'd still say that meld setup would be better achieved with TIVs? Unless someone can show me the set up their using that relies on less lol! I'm happy to make a ton of partisans gear/electrum accessories and go spiritbond my life away if it's mainly III/II/I use :D

Your hypothesis is a bit off

There is no iLvL 70-90 crafter/gatherer gear that can be converted (As I know of, maybe I am wrong)

They never said conversion rate for the lvl 45-49 gear is changed and won't drop tier IV.

And the spiritbonding is now faster if we are doing content in the correct level bracket in regards the level of the gear.

For the melds I look often at this post.
Lots of solutions not all tier IV dependent

Thanks for the reply. As i'm not quite able to get to the 70 - 90 gear yet, i agree my OP was a little skewed, however i guess it helps me and other crafters not worry so much by the replies given :)

Just for the record I didn't mean to be blunt or anything :) (reading It might look so)

But yeah I don't think we need to worry, they know we need a lot of materia (craft, gather, novus...). I couldn't test yet the spiritbonding speed increase but I am confident :)

So the adjustment only effects battle right or if I am quick synthing ingots for spiritbond gain is that adjusted as well like I would need to do steel instead of cobalt ingots for mythril braclets?

I'm wondering this as well. Hope it doesnt effect quick synth SB. Also i70 and now i90 is NOT guarenteed to drop tier IV anymore.

So let me get this straight. I can't throw on a bunch of vendor-purchased ilvl 31-44 crafting gear and head to Urth's Gift anymore to make materia for my crafters? WoOoOoOoooowww.....

Tests have shown that you can still use Urth's for ilevel 31 to 49 stuff and it will bind much faster than before. If the monster is between 1 and 10 levels higher than the item level of the item you are spiritbonding it will bind at ~3% per kill for NQ items.

I tested it also. ilvl33+ is still fast at Urth's Gift, with ilvl 30 and 31 being extremely slow.

The only IV materia I have on my crafters is one on each accessory/belt. The job specific gear each has one overmeld, except for the pants which have none. With artisan head and tool I have enough control/craft to attempt 3 stars and max CP, and maxed out control/craft gains little over just enough to attempt.
