Recruited a friend but they can't make a character on my server -_-

So i'm on Excalibur and i recruited a friend and even bought them the game. Well they can't create character on Excalibur. What the heck? Can anything be done about this? What is the point of recruiting a friend if they can't play with you ... I thought this drama was overwith?

Have them create the character really early in the morning (4-5 am) where the restrictions are semi laxed. This will never be over with as each server can only hold so many people, yes the amount is rather high but you don't have every single one of them online at the same time hence making a enjoyable experience for everyone.

Same for me i got my friend in but she ended up not being able to get on mine so shes with others we know :P

Try late night / early morning, all servers are free around that time.

well shucks, thats very disheartening to a MMO newbie. I mean the normal folk can't understand why there is a limitation, this is a pain to relay to her. *sigh*

For what it's worth, I was able to make characters on Balmung this morning from about 6:15 - 7:15 am PST. Not sure if this is the norm, but 6 am is a lot better than 2-4 am which I had always heard tossed around :( Maybe with School going back in session it won't be so bad. :X

Keep having them try. When I first started on Cactuar, there was a lock down in place and I kept trying until I got in so that I could play with a friend.

When I had my friend join us, they had the same issue and couldn't get in for hours. XD If you want it enough, it'll happen and it's better than the alternative where there's no one to play with at all.

I came from XI where the server was a dead wonderland of emptiness.

Yeah right late late, I even made an alt on Tonberry which I hear is almost impossible. Late late yah!

Just note that page is only updated at those times. The system will dynamically open and close char creation on each server as the current online population changes. So if it was last updated at 4AM and showed open, and it's currently 7AM, it could be closed if enough people logged on.

This ^ don't follow that page, tell your friend to check in game every often after like 4 am PST.
