Correct me if I am wrong but I don't think you can get it presently.. but after running around on this beastie for the quest.. can I keep him? >w>

It´s a part of the Moonfair quests in the Limsa area. I liked the color and the pattern as well. Would be cool if we could get that ^^.

I just want the colors.. I like the saddle or barding or what ever you wish to call it better on this one than the beast tribe as well. As far as I know you can't earn it =/ *nudge* people have been complaining they want more sub rewards or commendation rewards.. if they aren't going to tie it to the event they could add it to the game in other ways ya? >-< (I can hope..)

Even though it's basically just a reskin, I would totally get this version of the elbst. The coloring is so much prettier than the one you get from the Sahagins. But, if we could dye it, that would work, too.

I'd live with dye options. I'm not too crazy about all the re-skins either but like others have said this version or at least the coloration is better looking. Could have used this instead of a glowy horse for the Levi drop mount.

I was so very much hoping this thread wouldn't happen. I knew it was inevitable, but a small part of me hoped people would be content enough not to ask. Hopes dashed. I don't want this mount to become a thing. I really don't. Events are far and few so taking part should be this special thing, and the event mount is one of those special things that should stay special. The moment you release it to the wilds of the player population, it stops being special. And when it stops being special, then nothing is special (about it).

I guess my argument with that would be it shifts the weightings in mount roulette.
You've a higher chance of getting a specific mount model like Goobbue/Magitek than say, a unique model like the Drake or Behemoth.

Gotta confess, I didn't even think about this, but I don't think that's a good enough reason to limit mount designs. A reskin can make all the difference to a lot of people. For me the elbst we have access to now is nothing exciting, but I love color and this moonfaire version I love. I don't think its slightly altering the chances of getting an elbst in the roulette is reason enough to bar it from the game.

But you might be right, we ought to throw in some re-skinned drakes and behemoths too :3 Balance things out.

While I appreciate your sentiment... it's an Elbst mount, it's hardly the most dramatic thing ever xD I also quite like this re-skinned version better than the original, which, lets be honest, the colour sometimes reminds me of the contents of my hankies when I'm ill :x

It's a goldfish elbst, of course it looks better... also this sentiment of want for it seems to be a Western one as I can't find anyone talking about it on the Japanese forums, though there is one thread asking for a watermelon splitting mini-game.

Why does something stop being special if someone owns it? Are wedding rings not special? Homes? Cars? I have a candle holder sitting next to my window that was probably one of hundreds of thousands massed produced in a factory but its one of my favorite possessions. It is special to me. The same is true in game, some of my favorite items are very common (Immortal Flames GC sword and bladed lantern shield! Mammet minion!) and who's to say if the moonfaire elbst was given to the players that it would be common? Would it make it more special to you if it was difficult to obtain?

I really hope not, I'm kinda burnt out on trying to get the extreme mounts in general. Also they kinda hurt my eyes with all of the glowing they do haha. Plus like someone else said.. we have enough horses.. we can switch any time.

If it helps, you only need 100 wins in Frontlines to get the Warsteed. Still a longer term goal for sure though, I love Frontlines and have been participating off and on since their release and I'm only at about 17 wins. For me, it'll be a few more months.

I'm fine with a horse in Final Fantasy, but we have a vast history of crazy monsters and constructs, and the least original one already has 6 variations. Chocobos have 4. 2 of which you can't really get anymore and 1 you have to sign someone else up for 3 months.
I'm sorry, but seriously fuff horses in this setting.

Throwing paint on an existing mount is incredibly special.
