I feel they should make mounts faster, they can even add a boost like when you run for 20 secs. It would also help getting to hunts quicker :)

When everyone has boost no one gets to hunts faster.
Remove 90% of aetherytes and I'll agree to ye
I don't think this is limited just to hunts though. This game overall is just painfully slow. The GCD is slow. Running is slow. Mounts are only slightly faster than running. It feels even WORSE than XI did, and logging into any other game from this one you can see the massive difference.
This is a really, really slow game.
People already complain that travelling is too quick because of teleports (I disagree) so making mounts faster would just originate more complaints.
Personally, I don't feel that increasing mount speed is necessary. It's already double the speed of your normal character movement (without sprint).
I still play 11 and even with the movement speed buff a year or so ago XIV is still faster to me especially with sprint that basically only THF has in 11. Much faster and jump mechanics would become really tedious. Go try and make precision jumps with Sprint up.
The only concession I would personally agree with on speed boost would be when walking/running/sprinting/riding on clearly marked roads- Even then, it shouldn't be too large. Travel across open fields should remain as-is.
Boost will never happen. Square wants to make sure that you can't just loloutrun every trash mob going through areas your low level newbie shouldn't be in yet.
The open world area maps are already too small. Buffing speed would make it seem even smaller.
Mounts already let us run across the biggest zones in 1-3 minutes. In no way should they be faster.

I miss fast monsters... I think it was the tigers but I can't remember for sure- anyway in FFXI there was a monster that'd blitz at you.. was hilarious and terrifying.
WoW has some monsters that leap at you and what not. SE could take a few tips from themselves and others on this XD.
Temp speed boosts could be fun feeling, going super fast is neat- but it would have to be balanced or end up making the open world even weaker (/agree). Perhaps when going normal speed you have a high resistance to heavy and short duration, if you turn on sprint mode (toggle or duration) you have a high chance to receive heavy for a longer time (use hp% as a variable in deciding heavy chance and duration would be better than the current situation as well, imo). Also.. add wind trails and a slight more zoom out of the camera.. because pseudo speed can still feel like speed lol.
They should make it so some mounts go faster the longer you move without stopping or running into anything. On the magitek armor, like, giant monster truck wheels could pop out at some point as you careen along, and if you jump onto a rock and again just right you'll catch some sick air to go flying. Then set it up so you can start firing the cannon at the ground to blast yourself up and continue to stay in the air. The cannon blasts should also cause heavy to anyone traveling at normal mounted speed that's in the blast area.
I want faster movement but it would only make this tiny world even smaller.
Hopefully the expansion pack has much bigger, complex maps to justify faster mounts.
Well..
Just paint your MOUNTS RED!
IT is the ONLY way.
Out of all of the mounts that I have, I feel that the Ariham mount is agonizingly slow compared to the movement speeds of my other mounts, or even running/sprinting.
Never fear OP I've just heard wind of a new invention in the works via Garlond Works. Apparently there was a leaked blue print for a robotic chocobo equip with warp speed. My sources from the daily moogle insider tell me all models come with a cactuar air freshener, GPS, and a succor holder(big gulp anyone??) interestingly enough if you and your party members (8 total) have a robokweh, and you push a "certain button" then you all combine and form ultrabo. Mayhap.. this is how we shall defeat Bahamut..?
The zones in this game are already small to begin with . Then you have the teleporters virtually everywhere . I remember certain MMOs where you had to run to a specific zone to speak to the stable master to be able to unlock accessibility to that particular zone via coaching. Some zones were off limits due to character races allowing only good/evil races to be able to access certain zones . Mages had the ability to coth a player to their location and was widely used to set up raids and such . Try traveling like that and you will understand that getting around in this game is very simplistic and in many regards flirting with laziness .
