I like the new feature and the way the battle system is heading and what not but I would like to see an actual button for the auto attack. That way when you walk up to an enemy and switch to active mode you don't have to wait and sit there until your character attacks. Sometimes I even have trouble with my character attacking stuff without using an ability. So it would just be nice to have an attack button that you can't spam or anything but just to use to initiate an attack or if your character randomly decides to stop attack and least to push that button so you can attack again without using one of your special abilities.

Agreed. Also, without an AA button sometimes you just pass by the target (ending with the backs turned to it, which is also annoying because you won't strike either for not being facing the target.) because without using an action you need to lock-on manually.

also if you automatically target an enemy which is slept and attack without meaning too is also annoying, I agree this should be in the game.

I'm sure things like this are in the works, we were warned that this was a very crude release of the auto attack feature and that improvements would follow. I thank god everytime I log on that they atleast got this far with it. It can only get better from here.

Indded. Having a generic action (all classes can use) named "Auto-Attack" would be more than enough...if not equipped it keep working just like it does now, triggering when monster is in melee range...but if you equip the action you will have to use the action to start/stop auto-attacking...if that's the case they can even change it to a toggle system like defender, with the action having an effect icon listed when AA is up.
