When ever I ask some one are you on PC or Playstation, the general response is they are either on the PS3 or PS4. I can not wait for the Census to see how many console players vs PC players.

Also, does it matter?
Console wars and the above image is all nonsense.
Play on the system you want/enjoy the most and call it a day.
protip.
examine them. if you see a ID at the bottom right.... thats their PS account ID. no need to ask.
PS is alot cheaper than a PC that can run the game as well as the PS4 can.
? <.<
/casually laughs and continues to General Discussion.
EDIT: But in all seriousness to the OP. Yes, there are a lot of PS3 and PS4 users. Good god you should have seen Cyrystal Tower[LOTA] once the new fresh fishie PS4 users catch up. ._. But it's great! I only hope that the PS3 users continue to upgrade to PS4 because as the PS3 community slims even more the fact of them being a minority will only become more visible[and NO ONE likes being a minority(at least not me)].
I have a PC, laptop really, that can run this game like a boss but I still prefer the PS3 over it. I largely don't care how good it looks, so long as it plays well and doesn't have to deal with Windows' bull.
Yeah.. I really think there should be a section for the PSN Ids in the Active Help interface. but ho well.
PC user here. I actually tried playing with a controller the other night and I couldn't get my head around it. It just seems so ... imprecise. My FC is roughly half and half, with some having licences for both platforms.
Takes some time getting used to it. I used to primarily use kb/m. When I switched over to PS4 I tried to continue with that, but the PS4 didn´t support the extra buttons on my mouse. So I hesitantly tried playing with the controller again. The few times I played on PS3 with a controller wasn´t a pleasant experience.
After giving it some time and getting used to it, I feel it is far more comfortable to use than kb/m. Feels easier to click on the actions, and I can also play in whichever position I want. :p
Only gripe I have with controller is when I want to target one specific target. If it isn´t 1st one on tab targeting, or on enmity list. It becomes rather bothersome.
I do spend alot more time setting up a proper hotbar with controller than I do for kb/m. Perhaps it is because I spend more time thinking through how to set it up that it is easier for me to press the actions with it, than with kb/m
Either way, I mainly want to say if it is the 1st time using the controller, and it feels completely alien and impossible to use. Give it some time and you might start preferring to use it as well :)
I did try this, however I found that a controller is only preferable to me while gathering or crafting, you know, more simple activities. Makes them far more relaxing, too.
I have 3 monitors, so a m/kb is also preferable in that respect. I often like to browse forums/imgur unless I'm in a dungeon, and that just isn't possible using a controller.
Its more than possible set the game to work with the controller when the window isnt active then you set the shoulder buttons to toggle or mixed rather than hold easy to set important stuff on 1 button for blm then buffs on the other play with minimal effort while browsing dont even need the FFXIV window active, just set the controller on the desk and push your buttons with 1 hand and use the KB/M with the other hand browsing say the forum.
Define most then hm? How much peeps playing on ps3/4 u asked from a total of how many peeps u asked for playing on ps3/4/pc?
I'm surprised, honestly. I understand the appeal of not needing a glorious gaming PC and just playing an MMO on your already bought RPG machine, but I can't stand the idea of playing an MMO without my mouse and keyboard... and computer desk. I'm not saying it's better, just that I prefer it. Ultimately, there's great draws to both PC and console. For MMO's and shooters, I stick with PC. For just about everything else, I stick with console (unless it's super cheap on steam).
I have the game on PC and it runs well but I play on PS4. It's just more comfortable, the PS4 controller is great, also the game actually looks better on PS4 than PC. I can quickly make videos and share screenshots, talk with my friends. I'm generally a console gamer anyway, plus it just feels right playing FF on a console.
I'm on PS3 :)
Sometimes while I'm waiting for friends to meet me in the City States I stand around and scan/examine the other players just see what the platform-population spread is, have to say that since PS4 release I've seen an increase in PSN IDs on my World.
Last night in the Quicksand 4/5 players I looked at were on PS platform :p
On the subject of upgrading to PC/PS4 I cant afford to do either and so far havent had cause to, only real killer frame-rate lag I've seen was Odin a few weeks ago during Prime Time and even that was managable with the SSD (Solid State Drive) installed in the PS3.
Only if you are a Playstation user yourself. If a PC player examines a PS player they won't see the ID.
As for the topic in question, I am both a PC and PS4 player. Started on the PS4 and then built a gaming PC so that me and my partner could play at the same time.
I never knew about the IDs showing and I've always played this on ps3/4. Might explain the random adds when this is the only game I ever play.
More than half, perhaps way more than half, of my FC use consoles to play.
My FC is about 20-30 people most of them using PCs of different ranges. About 1/5 is using PS systems. I'm the only one which is using a PS3 but going to upgrade soon I hope
