Item Level Bonuses to Duty Finder Roulette

Been going into a lot of content lately with players way under geared.
As a benefit for more focused players & more motivation for new players to gear themselves up to speed can we see points Increase based on every 10 levels of their item level after completing content.
Also list of other adjustments add to aim to lower the cost of Materia, get players to do weekly Primal Awakening quest again.
These bonuses only trigger in a Duty Finder Roulette after last boss is defeated.

Reguardless of item level, players will be rewarded extra 20myth.

Other Adjustments:
Rowena's Token's can now be traded in for 300 myth. (Total:900 myth weekly)
Can now buy il70 Gear Materials with Myth. (150myth = Potash x1, x9 1350myth)
As of Patch 2.4, il90 Primal Weapons can now be desythed. (Recipe for il110 Equipment)

Hmm so the lower the risk the better the reward? That's a bit backwards.... If anything that team of minimum ilevel players that grinded through the dungeon and won deserve the bigger reward. If you can enter the dungeon you aren't undergeared. This would do nothing to help the issue of spirit bonders and people wearing off class gear.

we dont need myth or soldiery increses, just because you feel somewhat wronged because you use DF and get paired with someone who doesnt have as high ilv as you. those players may not have the best gear now, but that doesnt mean they arent working towards better gear, as your words imply. it is already easy enough to get both myth and soldiery. a raise in the soldiery cap, but not to 900. it could take one day of hunts to get the il100 gear, every week.

i would also like to see the lv70 mats purchasable with myth, as that would make it easier to craft the high end items, but it would also make them a lot less valuable, since there is no cap for myth.

Not saying lower gear=more reward. Saying More gear player has on increases the amount of reward they earn throughout boss fights in a dungeon. So if a player with minimum item level of il52 goes into a fight they will gain no added reward. If player with il70+ enters it they will. Making il70 craft gear more purchaseable will make it easier for lower level players to reach the first tier of the bonus and lowering cost of tier4 Materia, which is 500k on my server.

I think you misread Lithera. They're saying lower risk not lower gear.

And they're right. Why should we reward people for overgearing?

I don't think you understood him...He saying making it obviously easier = bigger reward doesn't make sense. And no tier 4 materia would not get cheaper because they have no reason to buy the crafted gear they will just get the myth gear via the dungeons they are already running or the hunt. It only benefits people further up the ladder. You know the guys that don't need hand outs.

Yes il90 gear would be better for casuals to buy. The tier4 materia would actually get cheaper cus more higher up players would spend the myth on materials for il70 gear and il70 gear always gives out a tier4 Materia. Because noone is running dungeons like brayflox anymore noone getting coke, potash etc. from chests inside those dungeons, cus people are running hunts. Also might be right about point increase in term of carrying casuals through content. Been in so many groups where high player just exits out after entering the trial roulette. If they added some kinda new player commendation where if a player helps another player/group of players that are 10 or 20 item levels under them they get some kinda credit for a mount.

the way you point out "casual" players like that is wrong. you dont have to be super hardcore to get some of the best gear in the game, you just have to be good. if your casual, but in a static for coils, and you only play 1-2 hours on 2 different days of the week, and you can beat at least one coil during those times, does it really matter how much time you put in? you dont have to be on all the time to be good enough to beat the endgame content.

Okay, you do the dungeon to get the tomes to get the gear, so you reward the people who have the gear with more tomes. That's kinda sucky logic you have there, the people who need more tomes are those with a lower ilvl not those with a higher, you give them more tomes they get the gear quicker to get their ilvl up.

All dungeons no longer earn spirit bond points on gear (minus the first point of exp to bind the item). Spirit points are contained in an aetheric crystal you can then use to charge up gear.


Basically, imagine Elderscroll soul stones/crystarium (FFXIII) point charging.

To ensure players don't load a crystal full of exp on high level dungeons and load it out on low level equipment, make tiers that follow the tiers of materia/gear level. So Aether Dust is tier 1, chunks 2, shards 3, crystals 4, and cluster 5 (and each collects aether of the appropriate monster level tier, and so you are still spirit bonding at an appropriate rate). As an aside, I'm a bit leery of what will happen to all this tier content over time- imagine if we get level 80 stuff years from now.. thats 8 tiers of materia, catalysts, and repair items. Some sort of dynamically scaling items might be nice.

I imagine how to best implement the system is to have a quest unlock it, perhaps pieces at a time, what it would look like is a little bar near each part of your body on the paper doll. Each part earns aether as if it was a gear piece- you can then choose to unload that aether infused in yourself onto other items to spirit bind them. So functionally no different than before except for the fact you don't need to wear them anymore. If you used this idea exactly you could just have a menu for extracting abundant aether (aether collected)- and the system would remember how much exp you have from each tier and allow you to extract the tier types you need/wanted when available.

Anyway, in this way you could go with your best gear- earn points as you normally do, not be a burden to others and yourself, still work the same amount of time, maintain the use of dungeons (spirit binding is useful in dungeons, you just aren't ruining it for others- this keeps the content alive) and still use the same materia system without major revisions.

Should be backwards.
People who are already geared, have little use for myth/soldiery.
New players however, they can use as much myth/soldiery as they can get.
