In regard to dismount

This is latest JP CM respond to a discussion thread in regard to the difference of dismount timer for each mount:

It looks the size of the mount has actul difference, for exmaple, it takes much longer to dismount a Behemoth mount than a Chocobo mount. Bigger you are, slower you are.

JP GM has responded that they will look into to adjust the dismount timer.

I thought I was having a glitch, but seems I outpaced a Behemoth with my Choco.. I would still use my Behe, but to get to FATEs and Hunts faster well..

all the mounts move at the same speed. if you passed someone it was because one of you were lagging or one of you got stalled by half a second by walking over something, etc. it is the dismount speed that is delayed which makes sense. if you are on a bigger/taller mount like a Behemoth, Magitek or a Goobbue mount, there is a higher falling distance, making you take longer to hit the ground than someone on a Chocobo which is already close to the ground. I run FL with my friend who mostly rides his Magitek and I on my Warhorse and I noticed that when we dismounted at the same time, he was still falling when I had already dismounted but I really didn't think it was big enough of an issue to cause any problems with gameplay.

I am not talking about the moving speed as all the mounts are same. I am talking about the time takes you to dismount.

I just hope whatever they do for changes, they make it so you don't lose target on someone who gets into or out of a mount.

As Foxclon posted on the JP forums, there may be some differences in the time it takes to dismount certain mounts. We’ll be looking into adjustments so that there are no differences between mounts.

I knew exactly what you were adressing; I was adding to it my perceived sights.

As of right now, if your caster, the best mount for you to get into an active casting state (doesn't matter for melee/brd since they can commit actions in the air) is either the Coeurl+any lizard like mount.

The worst being the magiteck/behemoth. Maybe Draught chocobo but I don't have that.

Meh i was sorta hoping it would be about auto-dismounting when you use an ability.
So many times i have been trying to spamm heal to realize i was still mounted.

Some animation in FFXIV are way too long anyway, like we are looking slowmotion on a movie, sometimes it's fun and nice, all the time is just boring, time to dismount just depends on the distance to the ground... Instead of just fixing 0.1 sec delay to dismount they should add option like dismount auto if you do an action.

No autodismount on use of an action would get really annoying really fast as you will wind up accidentally dismounting at inopportune times and it would interfere with future actions that may be possible WHILE mounted as well as the projectile attacks on some of the mounts.

Then make it a option in the character option. I always have it on in any game that it is possible. Just makes for smoother gameplay imo.

Easy workaround by macroing all your healing spells. I did that with my blm so i could dismount and then cast Night Wing as soon as i got to the flag and could put everyone in the front of the enemy team to sleep as they came around the corner. it buys us some time until my team can get on the flag point. and since the enemy team is 90% of the time still mounted when they come around that corner, they can't break it until they get a leeches or an esuna. just replace "night wing" with whatever healing spell you want to use.

and yea, an autodismount would be nice as well as if it worked with talking to an npc. yea i'm lazy like that.
