Minion interactions??

I know the cat/dog, moogles too.

Are there any other pets that would interact with each other?

I saw the mandagora queen tooltip and just got curious.
It sure sounds like something could happen.

"Though wed to the Tomato King in a move to strengthen the bond of Houses Tomato and Mandragora, the queen longs to steal away with her one true love─the Eggplant Knight. What will become of this forbidden romance!? Use item to acquire the Mandragora Queen minion and find out"

Unfortunately I don't think the mandies do anything - would be awesome if they did something if you got all 5 together :)

I heard the onion knight and the warrior of light fight against each other, but I can't confirm.

The best are still the tonberry that pretends to attack your battle target, and the opo/bluebird that perch on your shoulder!

You just kind of have to play with them to find out which ones interact. For example my Wind-up Tonberry will "fight" with a Wind-up Quiquirn(sp?).

The mandragora queen and the tomato king/eggplant knight do something, however it isn't unique to them.


They lock on to each other and stand in front of each other, and do that little twirling dance motion that they normally do if they are just standing still. Nothing special at all, which upset me seeing as how the tooltip basically tells you something should happen. The even bigger problem with this, is like I said the animation isn't even unique to the mandragora queen and those two minions. I haven't been able to test them all, but it looks like any combination of the two mandragoras will do this same thing.

If you get two SCHs together and have each one summon a different fairy, the fairies will fly up to each other and start chatting.

Even though the "run to each other and do basic animation" is common between minions, my favorites are the GC mammets who seem to be facing off at each other. XD

Nuaghty nankas will lock on to each other and do that lil head butt motion. I thought it was a coincidence till i ran into it again. Nuaghty nankas being Nuaghty. :D

All choco (GC, Normal, Black, Pope) minions will gather up with other chocos similar to GC mammets. The don't break the owner link but they will stray far from the owner if not moving to be with the larger pack.

Not going to lie....I had NO idea about any of this! It's really cool to know the minions do other things than follow you and look adorable doing so! Good post OP!

The Moogles joining up and dancing in a circle was first time I noticed minions do stuff than just walk around. Love these little details.

The baby buffalos will headbutt each other. Super cute. ^^

Dodo's do dodo-jousting, it's kinda weird where they run at each other, and then go back to their positions.

They also have a strange dancing thing when you gather four of them together.

These things are all pretty elaborate and cool @_@;

I love the minion interactions - but the only one I wish was also in the game is being able to give a fish to the Fledgling Apkallu. Something like if you drop a fish from your inventory, your character throws it out and the apkallu goes chasing after it - but that's probably a lot of effort to code in.

That animation is the generic one. Mammet's do it, and I think Chocos do it as well.

A ton of people keep saying this but I haven't gotten it to happen. The Onion knight just has an attack animation as part of its idle animation.

Yes, we tried it out, and they do not interact with each other at all.
