So, how about those Deaspected Crystals?

After the new patch came out, I played for the first time in awhile and looked through my inventory and saw those mysterious little Deaspected Crystals. Soooo I've been wondering, do they serve a purpose now?

Or is something going to happen with them soon? I'd hate to see those things go to waste ya know?

Go check out the new npc in Gridania.

He'll give you a Peregrine Helm for 30 of those crystals, or 10 of any kind of particular shard for 1 crystal each.

It was in the patch notes for 1.18. That being said, the patch notes were like a book so I'm sure many missed it.

Seems to me that this is as good a place to ask as any... are deaspected crystals dropping anymore? I don't have as much time to play as I'd like to, and since the patch I haven't gotten a single one. Makes me worried, especially with the prices they go for. :(

I am wondering this too. My rank 40 Miner has been loving the boosted SP for DoL, but hating the apparently lack of Deaspected Crystals...

Yes, do the militia mission: You'll see a random NPC pop with a chocobo and all the sudden Garlean Forces will storm the area. Talk to the NPC to join the mission. You'll be rewarded at the end with a treasure chest. Inside their will be a reward of Deaspected Crystals, the amount TBD by your rank/how many kills/others involved/etc. I've gotten about 18 so far this way. (Did about 3 battles I think).

These Militia Missions are located near the rank 20 leve camps. The Garleans range from rank 25-30 and the really do storm the place.

I saw them storm the area once from afar, I wasn't even part of the mission but it was pretty awesome o.o Thanks for the info, as I haven't received any deaspected crystals on a normal basis either.

Have not seen a single deaspected crystal drop since 1.18 either also are these Militia Missions the only way to get them now?

I believe I have gotten one since 1.18.

You may have got from a quest shyd as i think a few quests or leves may give as a reward

I started about a month before 1.18 and in that time got somewhere between 15-20 but since 1.18 not a single one :(

I also haven't seen any since 1.18 has been implemented, and I primarily do leves
